      @@FatGuyFliesRC No I am getting into trainer planes first. I work nights and things have been kind of messy with work and events outside of work and the schedule of my technicians and aircraft loving friends. I have also been working on getting head trackers. This whole RC project buildup of mine has been pretty crazy. We tore apart a DX18 and made it mode 3 so I can fly it. A lot of successes right now. I got my new controls working for mode 3 but need to adjust the throttle stick. I am having to apply too much pressure to make the rotor stop spinning(or throttle cut). I am worried about getting into fixed wing planes a little bit because I hope the trim being way off at maiden flights doesn't cause me issues.

    • @FatGuyFliesRC
      @FatGuyFliesRC  3 года назад

      From what i gathered you have had to mechanically adjusted the gymbal for you to fly Helis in mode 3. I am afraid that may transfer to the fixed wing when you try to fly it in mode 3 also. I am at a loss now as to how to advise other that get another transmitter and learn to fly planes solely on it in mode 2. But your left handed so now , i dont know ....sorry!!

      @@FatGuyFliesRC You didn't understand my statement. It was mostly a success. You have to first set the mode in the radio. Then you must calibrate it then you can adjust the mechanical setting. It works I just have to fix the throttle from sticking when at 0. I just have to apply pressure to make the throttle stop. My statement was that I am afraid of flying fixed wing aircraft now upon maiden flight because I am afraid if the trim is too far bad that I can crash because of starting bad trim. The sticking throttle at bottom throttle is the only issue I have. Everything else works.

    • @FatGuyFliesRC

      No sorry they are set physically. 4 channel receiver means just that 4 channel only. Same with Transmitters no way to electronically or physically do it. Any suggestions for an 8 channel receiver for a Spektrum DX8E radio for flight controls? Any suggestions for gyro stabilizers as well?

    • @FatGuyFliesRC
      @FatGuyFliesRC  3 года назад

      Not for an 8 channel. But Motion Rc sells a great 6 channel that has a great gyro and self leveling built in. Its called the Admiral stability pulse receiver and here is a link. www.motionrc.com/collections/rc-aircraft-receivers/products/admiral-rx600sp-6-channel-dsmx-compatible-receiver-with-6-axis-stabilizer
      Question, why do you need 8 channels? I have a DX9 Transmitter with 9 channels but I never need more than 6 or 7. Unless the plane has more functionality than the basic throttle, elevator, aileron, rudder, flaps, and gear. then a 6 channel is all you need.

    It wont transfer over from the heli because I can just save or change the settings. The heli is it's own receiver as well and my fixed wing planes will have their own. I can just change to a different plane. It should be fine.

    • @FatGuyFliesRC
      @FatGuyFliesRC  3 года назад

      Oh ok I just remember nothing is saved in a receiver other than a bind lock to a transmitter until its rebound again. I was under the idea that you had opened the back of the transmitter and mechanically changed the gimbal of the sticks. In that case I have no idea if those changes will be in place as you switch modes or switch to different rc vehicles (plane,glider,drone, heli) . Its just territory I have never explored since I have always used mode 2 and know nothing else.

    The problem appears to be the same as with the Dynam Tempest. CG is way too close to the mains on the landing gear. On the Tempest, the LG are, literally, dead on the CG. This makes nose overs on landing all but inevitable. I installed EFlite gear in my Tempest, angled and rotated so they retract flat but when extended they are well forward of the CG. problem solved. Dynam makes great flying planes, but you've got to be willing to fix the details yourself.
