- For a long time I wished I could do film making but didn't have the guts to try, big mistake, Its alot of fun putting something together with skill. this lighting kit made by Soonwell got me fired up wanting to try creative things, it can replicate any color in the spectrum as well as white light temps and different scene emulations. I was pleasantly surprised, it costs $119.00 and you can purchase one here for US Amazon:

United Kingdom Amazon:

Here are some specs and I forgot to mention the battery life, it lasted over three days of me shooting this review without needing charge. factory says it can run 2.8 hrs but I think thats a misprint as it lasted longer for me, then again I didnt run it a full power all the time.
Its clear plastic shell and IP68 environmental rating allow it to be submerged up to 16' deep, making it ideal for shooting still and video images while snorkeling.
The tube has an expansive color temperature range of 1600 to 20000K in normal mode and a high CRI of 96+, indicating superior accuracy in the rendering of color. It also has an RGBW mode that gives the user access to myriad custom colors.
With 20 pre-programmed special effects in a simple-to-master menu system, Effects include: CCT Flash, Hue Flash, Storm, Police Car, TV, Fire, Disco, Bad Bulb, Fireworks,Explosion,Lighting and Candle, etc
The Light Stick has a built-in Li-ion battery that gets 2.8-hours of run time on a 4-hour charge. A padded carry case is furnished for storage and transport.

Truly amazing how you created that DIY rainfall. You really got me on that rain scene well done. The review of this Soonwell is nice and thanks for all the pre-production you did to create a believable scene. A very versatile light man.
Love the effort you go to for reviews. That quick look behind the scenes made me appreciate those short clips even more. The way you setup the rain, and the multiple lights just to get the perfect look and feel. I had no idea.
Hey thanks my man, speaking of effort I still haven't caught up to your last two videos. I can't take full credit for that car scene, I saw a cinematographer RUclipsr demonstrate how to get cinematic look on the cheap, I forgot his channel name. That video's been up almost a week and I'm going to tell you now because the statute of limitations is over, I wore two different shirts in that scene because I shot it over 2 days and no one noticed the wardrobe difference ! Lol
haha I never even noticed, I am going to watch it again now, that's gold.
This was fun to watch. What I noticed is your well light main shoot with you at the outdoor table with the light and box. Great tones, great resolution.
nice review. I like the breakup scene light setupup and the killer move is to include the rain or water sprinkler.
Hey hello thank you. What I'm learning is we are only limited by our creativity, the trick is coming up with the ideas, executing is the easier part at least for me.
Cool light. Maybe someday I can get one. Thanks again for making the video.
Hey as always thanks for taking the time to check it out. this is one thing that wont collect dust
anothere great review! but I had like the video before in the car the lighting was spot on well made now knowing you did it with these lights is so cool especially with the street light right in the rain, and faking the cop lights programming the colors - great stuff man!
Haha hey thanks, you know I've had creative lights for many months now and never really tried to put them to use like this. when this company asked me to see what I could do with this light I took it as a challenge. I want to shoot more short films but it's actually the easy part to shoot them the hard part is coming up with an interesting idea. I might challenge you to give it a try you look like you have some good gear too
"I've never shot a music video before" - I think we know what is coming next given your recent creative streak! Man I didn't even know you created that whole scene, I thought it was actually raining/storming outside and you were shooting with the camera protected. Now seeing all the production that went into it, even more impressive!
Great review and on point as always, can't wait for your next one!
Hey thanks Tekno, appreciate it. How come you're so supportive man you're like a true soldier 😎. Actually I had to dumb down the water hose because the first shot I didn't realize was spraying on the camera and it's not waterproof. At the end of the video the light that's supposed to shine through the rear window battery died that's why it looks odd. Trust me I won't be doing a music video anytime soon, I'm terrified because it takes a certain amount of skill and choreography between syncing the music with the singer's mouth especially if you're shooting in slow motion. It's a whole nother discipline
@@Raychristofer Your vids are a nice relaxing experience in otherwise trying times. Always love your down to Earth explanations and always learn something from your videos.
@@TeKnoVKNG23 hey I appreciate that techno, you probably watch more videos of mine than anyone else I know lol. the joke is I have to watch other channels videos to calm my behind down from what's going on sometimes lol
@@Raychristofer I hear you man. You know what we need with this light is the underwater test, lol. Light up the pool.
@@TeKnoVKNG23 or better yet how do you come up with a good scene to use this underwater
Dam Ray your one clever dude you put those lights to good use it’s £82.00 in 🇬🇧 uk nice bit of kit
Hey thanks for checking it out all gosh it's cheaper in the UK and you just remind me I failed to put my Amazon associates link for Europe. I realize me and you have been cranking out videos more lately. I think I missed the last few of yours, I'm behind on reviews now and I see what you mean lol
Awesome! 👍👍
Thank you Eva
Nominated you for the Oscars for the break-up scene ;). You forgot to mention about the battery life.
Whats up man thanks so much, getting out my comfort zone. dang youre right I left out battery! crap because I wanted to mention of the three lights I used they ran out of battery and I had to shoot a second day because of them while this battery I havent charged again since I got it. man thats one thing about these reviews its easy to miss something. I will put that info in the description.
Dang you might end up on the home shopping channel... Looks like a good product... Maybe some light painting at night ...
Hello Lanc thanks man. You know it's a bit too large for light painting maybe but it's great for long exposure lighting of scenes. I've seen some cool abandoned buildings shots and cars in the desert shot that way. You gave me an idea. Thanks
Lanc which FB group are we both in?
@@Raychristofer I shoot film" or one of 7 or 8 photo groups..
Did you saw SoonWell SD -50 , what you think , if i have small light kit with MT1 light and to bye few lamp ST-50 ( like kinofloo style ) can i control bath with my phone? Or if i need full control in the App i need set up another light company ?
Thanks so much ! Can I control this light with my iPhone? Or if i need full control better to use Godox tl 30?
i just mean , if you sit at the Car in scene , did you always go to the light panel and back to the camera , or you control the light wireless ?
Man! This light that you put on to shoot the scene in the car is cool, it looks cinematic. I was shocked when I saw that you yourself created the rain in this way. Because when I watched that short film, I thought it was raining and it really was. Cool! And if at such a distance this lamp gives such light, it's cool! I really liked it. But how expensive it is! :\
Hello bro so sorry i missed this comment. this light is about 150.00 yes every photographer should have at least two rgb lights. I even use them on red for developing paper in the darkroom. you dont need to spend this much though rgb lights can be got for less than fifty
wow this is super cool, i've been looking at getting a more portable light and im definitely gonna take this into consideration
Whats up Srad how are you? thanks, I am exposed to alot of cool gear because of this channel that i probably wouldnt have tried. good job on your interview with Joan Michel, shes a special person for sure.
@@Raychristofer thanks! Yes i love joan! So happy to have met her.
great video!
Hey thank you
great video and thank you for opening my mind to the ideas....shoot a video under water with the light lol
Hey thanks bro, and you're better than me because I can't come up with a good idea for underwater yet lol. That would be a hardcore thriller
Attach it to your skate board and do some night shots weaving down the street or through a parking lot...
It's very useful for creative people for sure . I'd probably break it on the skateboard.
