Odds are, people are going to pick PK because she is the last Knight hero (for now), but who knows. I know a lot of people want me to cover Kensei, Highlander, or Tiandi. So there are a lot of options to choose from.
Right then. Time to make 2 loadouts. One to be as realistic as possible with little to no coloring. Just material. Two... the exact opposite just so I can look like a guy/girl with a death wish on the battle field.
I can’t believe you didn’t talk about my favorite sword blade... The Gryndr super curved/folded over itself blade. I really wanted to hear what you thought of it lol
i measured warmongers character model to be rougly 9cm, and if my sources are true, warmongers height is atleast 6 foot 2, and her sword is roughly 8.5cm, so using simple maths we can find out that her sword is atleast 178cm long, which is pretty much bang on zweihander length. the problem is warmonger doesnt use it like a zweihander (thats down to laziness of the devs, or the lack of research) and the fact that wardens sword only abit shorter than warmongers sword makes no sense because warden is supposed to be wielding a longsword, but its too long for it to be a longsword. so i guess both warmonger and warden both uses greatswords, but warmonger's is definitely a zweihander.
This was another fascinating video!! I really enjoyed it a learned some new things! Looking forward too your next vid, and take all the time need we understand, life has been pretty tough lately too
You know what's funny? I think this "Flamberge" does a slightly better job at being a longsword than Wardens longsword, mostly because it doesn't look quite as outrageously fat.
Nice video. As always, your for honor themed content is some of the most interesting in the entire fh community. I know the next video is probably a ways off, seeing how there's always a lot to analyze/critique about any given hero's fighting style, but straight off the bat, I'm curious: In your opinion, does the "warden 2.0" meme apply for her sword techniques as well (we know she indubitably has better armor than warden so that part's already a given)? Because as you said in this video, similar to warden, she barely half-swords at all and as far as I can tell, the only thing that really sets her apart would be that she actually thrusts in half-sword when she does it. But apart from that it seems as though her footwork and base stance are worse and obviously she does not have anything like Warden's crushing counterstrike or his oberhau/unterhau(?) combo which are obviously the main things that look cool on him. She does have more chains, but those are more of a gameplay improvement than a "realism" improvement afaic. If you want to, you can give me a brief prognosis of your findings (yes/no would be enough lol). Other than that, take care man :)
For those who dont know, blades with a flamberge effect can litteraly not cut. That blade type is used either for decorative swords or for short stabbing blades like the indian kriss.

I kinda hope that some older classes like warden and highlander get a bit of fine-tuning because they are the ones who desparately need thinner blades.
Would the curved "grind" on a straight blade do the same damage to someone as a flamberge'd blade? After all, the curvy blade is meant to inflict a wound that would bleed alot more and heal slower and rougher than a normal blade from what I hear. Also, why was the flamberge effect so uncommon on medieval swords/knifes, being that most examples come from South America? I heard that it was the equivalent of a flamethrower unit in WWII, where one would be targeted if they were using such a weapon, discouraging its use. Is this true?
I like to use the Areto hilt to make the sword as long as it can be to try and differentiate it from Warden’s longsword. Sadly you can’t make the blade longer. The reason I am explaining this is if you look at both of those sword blades, the edge does not move in a straight line at all. This would produce extremely poor cuts and would render this sword next to useless comparatively to other blade options. Now, if somehow the edge was properly aligned and it did work, could something like this be possible? Well if we are talking about modern smithing with modern tools and modern metallurgy, then maybe and that is a rough maybe. If we are talking about historical smithing with questionable metals, then no, it would not work at all since there are multiple stress points throughout the blade that would definitely cause a failure when met with blade to blade contact. @@GoGoDani Seems like. That arguments pretty valid too since Astrea/Apollyon is their OC (and the only character people didn't regularly meme like Holden or Daubeny). At this point too, though, I'm surprised they didn't make Warmonger just a Warden Variant, where they use the same weapon and stance just a different moveset. Which speaking of anims... God I hope when they get back to their studio they give her new ones... her current roster of animations give me a headache.
@@GoGoDani I mean, they could just have made the sword another 60 centimeters longer and actually turned it into a proper Zweihänder if they badly wanted the big anime sword aesthetic. But I guess they would have had to turn down the edgyness by almost 5% because it wouldn't have been possible to just lazily move it around in one hand....
First?
