- Mordhau originally released on April 29, 2019. It's a large scale battle multiplayer PVP game. It's basically a medieval version of the Battlefield series and it's GREAT. It has hands-down the best melee combat in a game and features various game modes and even a private server browser! I can't recommend it enough and you should definitely play it in 2023.

So i got the game free in EG and this is what happened in the first 15 minutes of battle
Invasion
-sort of 8x9 happening
-Random player took it personal and we starting " dueling " with each other
-Someone got hit by the catapult and fled miles aways in the air
-More players come to the mayhem turning into what seems to be a 18x20 idk
-Naked bard dwarfs running around while playing Undertale song
-Someone threw a damn explosive barrel and killed everyone, body parts everywhere.
Game 10/10
EDIT: This comment was months ago folks, when game was free and there was a lot of people playing, now its just a ded game with 3-4 servers online with sweats tryhards.

I built my PC for it back before Covid, and it's since been the only game I play every day that I game lol. I've gotten lazy and gained weight though, when I'm not on there I'm on here watching all the videos LOL

Something I found out early when I got the game was pressing H, it pulls up a yellow marker above teammates and makes it much easier to differentiate between enemies and allies.
Mordhau is an experience. It's like Journey in that regard - you play it once and it stays with you whether that was your first and last time playing or not.

Mordhau is the best game it's genre, shame that it's devs and community are killing it. It being free on Epic will must likely not help it's dwindling playercount, but I'll be there, lute in hand till the bitter end.

Two rules I always go by, do not harm the bards unless they give you a reason to, and second respect the fist fight.

Mordhau is truly special i've had some of the most memorable experiences in any video game with mordhau. The customization is outstanding if you are into that stuff it's among the best in any game! The memes go hard as well many times you can find almost naked dwarfs going hard with the engineer toolbox or simply playing music amongst the carnage. I will say though that the combat is not easy especially for newbies, i would recommend joining duel servers at first because the invasion/frontline modes are very chaotic, you can and will be gang banged. Please give the game a shot people! it's easily among the best games i have ever played.

@@Dualities Lol idk I'm on the fence with that, things could get a little toxic even racist. But I often think about how voice chat would be like and maybe you aren't wrong.
@@DualitiesThere was a voice chat mod you could install on custom servers, but all it takes is one racist 12 year old and the whole idea is ruined.
I think the voice lines are the best way to go about it.
The Developers of the game (especially crush) are either horrible people/incompetent, crush gets bodied by pros then nerfs what they used against him, proceeds to claim hes one of the best (hes defo not) and then proceeds to talk shit about all competing games such as chivalry 2, the game, that mordhau, is fucking born from.

Mordhau become alot like chivalry 1 in my opinion, recently started playing chivalry 2 and I find it's the perfect balance. I will say though Mordhau had a better engineer style class and the structures done more
You can troll alot more in mordhau and there isn't really a class system, you cna pick and mix as much as you want

it's great to see that the game has a lot more servers now. there only used to be 2-3 servers on east coast running and now there's about 10 east coast invasions servers going, and they're all full with good ping. Seems like they tripled the servers. 👍

I used to pay to buy this game to play. It was so much fun and so funny. I'm not mad when it's free but it's nice to have a lot of people playing with people who haven't played and tried to download it.Have fun😂

For people with less powerful hardware, I recommend checking out chiv 1. I'm hoping more people will play. It's similar to mordhau but simpler combat.
Its gonna be free in a couple days. I think waiting a bit is better than buying it now.
About him saying that it has a "small cult following" is pretty much true. You'll see a lot of the same players. US East servers are always my jam 💪

If you like this kind of combat play star wars jedi academy 2, it has also acrobatics in it and the light sabering is very statisfying. There is a mod called Movie Battles 2 which uses a version of this combat system and refined it a little, but the community is way too skilled now and somewhat toxic. But i guarantee if you play it with 20 newcomers, it´s gonna be a blast

3000+ hours into the game here and still never get bored of it! Mordhau is a great game. However it has a very steep learning curve for new players, but the experience is unmatched

For a fresh beginner I would say just play and have fun and don’t give up. You will probably get your ass kicked A LOT for a while until you overcome the initial hurdle of the steep learning curve of Mordhau. Also make sure to play the tutorial, and I would recommend playing on duel servers for a little bit to practice your core mechanics. If you live on the East coast JoJos Duels is a good one

This game is awesome but its definitely underrated because its a bit of a meme I mean for a time the pro scene was played by people throwing stones at each other because they were a bit unbalanced

ADD TIME: Do you guys find yourselves constantly getting destroyed in invasion/frontline? Fret not for I present you the zero effort high k/d ratio tactic. Doesn't work in duels, sorry. But will make you feel better if you feel frustrated during large battles.
Chapter 1. Build - Not necessary, but will tremendously boost k/d if done this way:
Pick all t3 armor (heavy) on all 3 slots. Pick Scimitar or any HIGH CUTTING damage one handed weapon, no thrusting, cutting/slashing is mandatory, flachion is a good alternative, cleaver also. Pick Tank perk and Fireproof (and fill in the rest with random point spend, I chose the cat perk too, it is also awesome).
Chapter 2. Binds - The core of the ZERO EFFORT HIGH K/D PART. These are my preferred binds.
1) SEPARATE BLOCK AND FEINT. For me its right click to block, thumb m1 to feint.
2) STOP 210 degree swings, and commit binds for RIGHT SWING (LMB), 210 degree thrust (Forward Scroll), RIGHT OVERHEAD (Backward Scroll), RIGHT UNDERHAND (Thumb m2)
3) Bind "D" Moving right key for FLIP ATTACK SIDE, make sure to not unbind move right too :D
ofcourse you can use entirely different binds, but it is important to use binds for swings from one side and bind the flip attack side for the same move button. I.E RIGHT SWING BINDS mean flip attack is on D. LEFT SWING binds, flip attack will be on A.
4) Not Necessary (I don't use it but its strong too) bind secondary button for sprint for at least one attac, or learn to sprint when attacking (gap closer if you have not sprinted prior to your attack)
Chapter 3. Tactic - The cookie cutter portion of the method for high k/d with zero effort
1) AIM FOR THE UPPER CHEST/LOWER NECK AREA
2) DONT NEED TO RUN, tank perk regens sta/hp slower, don't push it, only boost sprint during attacks.
3) Always try flanking the oponnent during your attack, with these binds and a scimitar (or another slashing fast weapon) you are essentially doing effortless accel.
4) To effortlessly drag again flank but then move your mouse to opposite direction during the attack (i.e, enemy is in front, you want to attack with a simple right swing, then you will flank from the left of your oponent, in other words, move to the left of their character, since your weapon will collide faster instead of waiting for the weapon to swing infront of you. Thats accell, but to drag it, simply flank on the left and look to the right of their character. Result = casual is destroyed cuz they early parry)
BONUS Chapter 4. EXTREMELY HIGH k/d if you want to overkill it.

Someone once said something really important in game chat. If you play frontline and dont stab people in the back who are currently engaged in a duell who are playing the game wrong.

There's a reason it's not as popular and it's because of how combat evoles as you play longer and get more experience. It was extremely popular at release but a vast majority of the community was driven away by the "endgame" combat a d the lack of meaning content(not including mods)

Tbh I can agree. Mordhau is one of the most underrated games out there. And with me having a 1000 hours i can clarify it indeed is a good game all around… Except the trolls… But the reason why I first bought the game was the customization. I’ve made hundreds of classes just because, well just because I can really.
same as a chivalry it scares away new players , i used to play alot of chivalry 1 but coming back again after ages to chivalry 2 it scared me away , just no balance in the game ... i am new player and i get -360 destroyed by greatsword ....

Got hundreds of hours in this game absolutely loved it the first couple years... if it wasn't for the flaws with the combat I'd of never touched chiv 2... still nice to see people are enjoying it still, no game has made me laugh so hard and rage so much at the same time. It was the most addictive game I've ever played for me which is part of why I quit lol

Unfortunately bows including crossbows don’t do as much damage and you don’t even carry that much. I get that if your facing a heavy armored player. But even to shoot a light armored to even a shirtless man it takes 3-4 arrows. Of course headshots is what will kill them but doing that on a moving target while under pressure is not a easy feat for the average player.
Can’t wait to play this for free ever since I played chivalry for there free trial I wanted to get back into the medevil type of games

I just bought mordhau after playing chiv 2 for a while. There are a lot of problems with chiv, a lot of it on the backend. I'm hoping mordhau provides a better experience.
You could of told me you where playing chivalry 2 and i wouldnt of noticed i probably would of been trying to figure out how to play the lute wondering why it wouldnt work😂
The only thing I like more in Chivalry is the games feel a bit more structured and people seem to play as a team a bit more. I've played a couple of games where enemies try to flood through main gates but our team makes a shield wall that they try to attack. It feels more like a real battle to me.

It's hard for new players initially. The mechanics are so different from every other game out there.
