- Simple Minds performing their song "Come a Long Way" live in Rio de Janerio, Brazil 7th January 1988. "Rock in Rio". 3 songs from this concert were actually filmed for "Hollywood Rock" (but not this one.....although perhaps footage may exist?).
Simple Minds didn't perform this great song live very often.
The intro is interesting. The sequence of instruments used is Drums, Lead Guitar, Keyboards (half a second later) THEN bass guitar. The bass left 'til last. An eighties thing! The few other live performances of this song copy the studio/album version intro. - Видеоклипы
I love Simple Minds 😎...
Song just kicking ass! What a stunning finisher of a stunning album called "Once upon a time". Gaynor's drums, Giblin's bass and Charlie's guitar are just incredible on this track.
Thanks for sharing!! Gaynor bangs his drums, Charlie starts his guitar....
Words carn't describe!!!!!!!!! Jims on fire!!!

I've just checked this out & you are right! It was about the 4th song on the Milton Keynes Bowl 2 nights running. Thanks for that info.

Thanks Markus!!!
wow.
Jesus were they all on speed when they did this? fast as fuck!
Cocaine and speed. Lots of it.
@KoraSchievella142 And don't forget the 'h' in dot and the 'h' in com!
@MrAmadaeus No way, Mr Amadaeus! Its too slow! Very very slow!
Nope. Waaaayyyy to fast. They turned a soulful funky song into a calypso. Não é bom.
Way too fast. Ruined.
It is too fast. Mel's drum pattern is unnecessarily busy and Jim's struggling to sing it and keep up. Loses all its atmosphere and majesty. They played it again more recently with a lot more control. Shame as it's an absolute banger when done right. Weird that they didn't spot this themselves as they played it quite a lot on the OUAT tour. They did the same with Hunter and the Hunted and binned it off pretty quickly.
