In all she probably had around 12 babies but only 5 survived. I pulled the other rabbit out and moved the babies to the nesting box but I recently checked them and they are warm but are looking a little wrinkly and I don’t think she’s fed them yet. I just don’t know if I should give her more time or if I should intervene now.
i know this video was four years ago, but i have to say thanks. My buck broke his feeder to get to our does. the momma bunny didnt take care of her babies at all.

I am heartbroken.😰 She was not nursing and by the time I intervened it was too late.
Can too much fur be a problem? My doe made a beautiful nest but I’m worried that with all that fur the babies will have a hard time getting to mom to feed.

There options for keeping bunnies warm. First determine if the baby bunnies are warm. Simply touching them will tell you if they feel warm or not. If they feel cold, you can determine if you want to remove them from mom and keep them in a house, in a warm place or if you want to keep them with mom, to add more hay and/or clip fur from her to add to the nest. Great question. Warm is excellent. Some differences do exist between bunnies. Some bunnies in a litter may drink more than others. Some may struggle to get enough. Some mom bunnies only have tolerance for feeding for so long. Others are more patient.
my bunny gave birth to 6 and 4 of them died. i don't see the mother feed her babies that's why i hand feed them with goat's milk. is it alright? or should i wait until the mother feed her babies? they are two days old, btw.
My Holland lop had 7 babies. Today they are 5 days old and there are 2 that are a lot smaller and do not have full tummies. Today I held their mom still and let them eat but i think 1 of them is having trouble latching . What should I do ? Should I wait or should I start feeding him got milk ?
Is the nest properly built? Are their bellies round and with visible milk? Do they have wrinkles on their skin? If they are cold, wrinkled, no round belly and no visible milk, supplement with kitten milk.

I feed around 5am & 10/11pm , is this good?? I’m trying my best and I’m so heartbroken over the litter passing. It’s bunny mamas first litter so I’m going my best to help her out

Energetic is a good sign. If you can look down at them, you will be able to identify many wrinkles or limited/no wrinkles. It will look like folds of the skin, as if there is ample extra skin.
The mother should feed the babies, but it does not always happen. If you have babies that die with empty tummies, it can be a variety or reasons. The mom may not know what to do, too much wool in the way, no milk coming in. Each of these issues must be investigated as best as possible. Further considerations include the diet of the mother and the environment. If you note no full tummies within one day of birth, it is necessary to intervene to keep the babies alive.

I’m the exact same situation. 6 baby bunnies.. sadly she originally had 8 but two of them died. They were born very early this morning & I haven’t seen her feed them. Hoping tonight she feeds them.

i took a big boxs and put a blanket on it aand then put snowball (the moms) fur on it and then the babies ofc!

Rarely do we see the mom rabbits feed. It is usually 2x a day and that is it.

A doe who is familiar with you will be less likely to reject kits.
My girl just gave birth last night. Will she reject them if I touch them?
If you have developed a bond and trust with the mom rabbit, it is highly unlikely she will reject them.
