Tumbled in vinegar and salt with steel tumbling media. Then washed in alcohol before being hot glued.

Just when I think you can't get anymore carried away with your ocd truck build you go and pull a stunt like this. It looks beyond epic! You brought back memories to when we created carbon fiber wide body kits for Subaru wrx sti's. I used a bunch of that max clear resin and hardener on that project...
You will win best attention to detail award at this year's round up....

Do you think this would wprl for a higher heat application? Im thinking about doing this behind my wood stove in my shop

    • @BrokeOverLand
      @BrokeOverLand  9 месяцев назад

I don’t think so. The epoxy is not that heat resistant and may warp or discolor. There may be some heat resistant epoxy out there, but I haven’t looked.

I started but couldn’t get enough new ones, so just went with a mix.

Very unique for sure! I made sure to watch the entire commercial at the end to do my part to get your ad revenue up another $.0000001... every little bit helps right? *sigh.

Loctite is sweet. I think it has lead in it? I’d probably know for sure if I didn’t find out how sweet loctite was 15 years ago…

Scratch that. A quick googling appears that there are many that have tasted threadlocker… We’re not alone.
Also complete bullshit about the lead… my love for paint chips is not related.
It appears my stupidity likely caused me to appreciate the sweetness, rather than the sweetness causing my stupidity.

That looks great! I was remodeling my kitchen years ago and did a similar concept behind the bar using wine corks in a herringbone pattern. Not as painful as your experience but close. The best part of the project was collecting the corks!

That's awesome Chad!! Can't wait to see your truck finished.
I'll be buying a truck as well, soon after I move to the new house next year (need room to park it). I'll soon start researching how and where to buy my LMTV... wish me luck!! Any advice will be welcome!

That looks really good. Even tho the pennies are all backwards.
And I hate to mention it...but you coulda thinned that epoxy about 10% with denatured alcohol and then just laid the pennys in there and poured it over. Thinned epoxy will go right under the pennys. Thinner glue leaks more tho...
Also - Epoxy does not stick to packing tape. Or plastic sheeting.
I'm in Olympia, and I just bought a 1083. Been binge watching army truck videos. Enjoying yours. Thanks for the interesting content. Might see you around this summer. Love to check out your truck.

@@BrokeOverLand - I will if I'm not working. I run a tugboat on the lower Columbia on alternate weeks Apr-Oct. If it happens on my off week I'm there.
