My poor dr cried with me. I had just watched my husband shot in back of head ten times. I wouldn’t believe it thought he was in witnessing protection program. I've been denied 5xs for SSDI. I have diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, PCOS, a hernia, depression, anxiety, panic attacks, restless leg syndrome, foggy memory, sleep apnea, IBS, low vitamin d levels, carpal tunnel, constant back, hip and neck pain. I can't sit for very long, walk or stand. I was told I'm of sound and mind, all the are not disabilities and to get on a diet and exercise to lose 50lbs and everything will fix itself. I never claimed I was stupid, I graduated high school and even took medical assisting 4 times and passed with As and Bs. I'm just older, life happened and now I'm sickly. I even went before a judge, he told me, "you have to be practically on your death bed to get disability".
Honestly my wife has a lot of the same things you do. What worked for her was gastric sleeve surgery and keto with organic foods and excercise. This severely changed the hormones allowed a pregnancy dropped pcos symptoms dropped weight thus helping weight and bone pain. However nothing in this world comes free anoety and depression becomes a big issues if you don’t keep your vitamin content and macros perfect but otherwise better in most every category. You can achieve this through keto but it takes so much longer and your hormone levels will be worse without the surgery. Just some info I’ve learned over the years with these specific issues.
@@joshreynolds729: I have to lose 50lbs first on my own before they'll consider me for the sleeve. So for 3mos I lost 20lbs and it was hard. I couldn't maintain it and gained it all back.
I been on disability for 3 an half years an after a review I’m being sent to more doctors after fighting for years I’m so nervous an my health hasn’t gotten any better just worse I don’t understand
I am participating Ticket work program. I use to be on SSI and currently not payment status. I am protected from a disability review every year for my SSI disability case. However, SSA makes me apply for ssdi every year. SSA knows I will be denied SSDI by Default. SSA makes me go through the medical screening every year knowing that I will be denied which is annoying. The only thing I get from SSA is medicaid because of 1619b status. I now work full-time for the state agency that does the disability screening so SSA has to make-sure I do not know screener and dose not work in my office. Your videos will help me assist my cliaments in applying for benefits.
@Rico Miller you dont need adice. if you really do suffer go into the exam and tell the truth. exams do not diagnose people. all these people are getting anxious about exams but in reality there is nothing to worry about. the exam doctor will only ask you questions. answer them. the thing is you were prolly already aproed for ssdi. your medical records should align with what you say. thats all there is to it.
@Rico Miller i realize anxiety is something to consider but i dont understand the feeling of anxiety. in fact i been taking psychiatric medication for so long my emotions are kinda wierd. sometimes i get feelings that come and go. i dont know why. anyways if you have been in treatment and your goal is to get approved and you are now 100%va with the same illness i have i have to say is you have nothing to worry about. no need to be anxious over something you want. do not worry about the exam. go in there with no superduper trick. dont even watch stupid videos on how to get approved for disability. the ssdi is like the va. you get it for about 5 years then they reexam you. you might not go to an exam. its probably on your treatment records. go to treatment. without treatment you will not be approved.
@@UNKNOWN-le2tu I never respond or comment on videos, however, in this case I too suffer from sone challenging mental health issues. I have been in the process of applying (for my first time) and it has been one year. I have my psychiatric exam in about two weeks. I think it’s important to remember those suffering from disabilities such as anxiety Ect are not simply capable of turning it off...that’s why it’s disabling. I did find support though I. The video as well as your comment. Knowing years of medical records will be viewed is embarrassing, but I realize this is what will help support me. But I imagine many stress over the exams - I’m a grown adult who also had to go through the physical exam which also caused me a lot of anxiety and I went through a manic stage and didn’t sleep for two days prior and until the day after (over 72 hours). I’m applying for mental health disability and the physical exam still scares me so I guess I’m just trying to say we all handle the stress, anxiety, impatience in waiting ect.... and I’ve always heard it takes many people three times before they are successful which means many with disabilities still are put on hold which is a heavy burden when there is no income... so I’m gonna say I’m more like Rico Miller too.
For someone who has difficulties leaving the home, is it advisable to have the ssdi psychological assessment over telehealth/video? Seems like it would be too limiting.
I have to leave my apartment to check mail so I often forget to for months on end. I missed my last psychological assessment only because I did not check my mail. Lost benefits then had to get them back.
Most everyone has to do this I just did dont know yet if I'll get it or not but mines for severe spinal stenosis had the medical CE first which lasted 5 mins and then the psych CE and basically it's to see if your able to handle your own affairs and your competent now for those who are applying for metal health reasons I'm sure its a little more through .
I guess I can blame my disability for this. To check my mail I have to leave my apartment, which I almost never do so I often forget to check my mail for months on end. I missed my last psychological assessment only because I did not check my mail. Lost benefits then had to get them back. Not fun. Anyone have any idea how often I should be checking my mail, given I "should" have an evaluation coming up soon.
I had my initial application denied partly because I couldn't get 12 miles from home for the medical exam and x-rays they wanted done. I do not drive, have never held a license and my daughter is the only one who may be able to take me but she was having health issues and couldn't do it. I struggle with leaving home too. I did have an mental health online appointment that I did go through. Now I am on redetermination and am going to have a second psych test. Any idea why they would want two within less than a year?
I'm very confused. My social security disability claim is for nerve damage due to double lung surgeries. I can't walk very far. I can't stand very long. And it hurts to breathe because my nerve damage is to the intercostal nerves. Now I get told I have to have a mental health evaluation from ss. Why? My mental health is OK at least I think it is anyway. I don't get it. I didn't apply for ssdi for mental health issues. I didn't it because I can't do the stuff I used to do. Lift walk, ect.
