hahaha.. you're right they are both crazy cities for traffic. Personally, I think I would feel safer driving my motorbike in Bangkok dodging Tuk tuks and motorbikes than in KL where it's mostly cars. Though to be fair I've had several learning experiences (aka accidents) in Thailand too. Not too infrequently you'll see a case in the news of a car in Bangkok, running over a pedestrian at a zebra crossing though. Thailand statistically has some of the world's most dangerous roads. Are you from KL?
@@dakotagearhart I know I was there, and took a tuk tuk, I thought I was going to die lol. It was a great adventure. I lost my Seahawks cap while riding in a tuk tuk! And got scammed while trying to get to Grand Palace! I did enjoy Chiang Mai a lot!
I can imagine a Thai person picked the hat up and is wearing it right now, haha. That sounds like quite the adventure. Ah Chiang Mai... I love northern Thailand. We try and get out of the city once a month for our sanity. Might head up there in the next couple of months.

Pollution in Bangkok can be pretty terrible especially for Motorbike commuters like myself. Clothes smell like gas fumes if after riding on a bike in traffic, or sometimes even walking down a busy street. I didn’t notice the same in KL.

@dakotagearhart nope! But I just love people's insights about the view and the food up the KL Tower. You are in a different country. It is not the same from where you came from. So no point keep comparing. Example our mall is the 3rd largest ever in the world(one of them). But you will never see it as it is far away. So do not make assumptions that our malls are inferior in anyway.
@keangwooichoo6138 I hear what you’re saying… we went to pavillion mall in kl. It was similar to Siam paragon in Bangkok, which is one of the nicest in Thailand. But honestly you see one shopping mall you’ve seen them all. They all have the same restaurants, shoe stores, luxury outlets. It was my experience that Thailand shopping malls are a bit cleaner than in Kl but who cares. Pavillion has a Guinness themed restaurant which was badass. What’s your favorite shopping mall in Malaysia and why? Cheers.
Malaysia had three major ethnic groups of Malay, Chinese, and Indian. Which you don't really see in Thailand which is more of a hotch potch also its uwn uniqueness .So the variety is much more Malaysia it's well known for its diversity plus the Western food it is also special in Malaysia. You are rather rare in your first impressions of KL. I sm Adain American by the way KL is very modern and much more sophisticated and organized then Bangkok. It is not just in between Bangkok and Singapore. It is much more affordable, friendlier and has a family vibe and is clean. You come and seem to be really off the radar. You seem to have abweird colored perception coming from Bangkok about KL traffic. The city transportation is more efficient people are friendly and when you get to know it you realize it's actually much more livable city than Bangkok. I would say you're the only one in the history of 10 years who's made these comments. There are no tuk uks in Malaysia.
Thanks for sharing. Malaysia is definitely unique with the major ethnic groups all under one roof. In Thailand, there are certainly people from all over the world, but not so much in major groups. The main groups would be Thai and Thai Chinese. I don't know man for traffic for me at least it seems more sensible in Bangkok. You can get to almost anywhere in the city from underground train (MRT) or an above ground train (BTS) which is what most 1 million people per day here used to commute. You can beat the heat with an affordable taxi, which Malaysia also has, but if you need to get somewhere in a hurry, you can take a motorcycle taxi which you can't do in KL. This could save you tons of times 20 or 30 minutes or more, depending on the traffic. I think buses are probably nicer in KL compared to Bangkok and that might be something I'm over overlooking but im fortunate enough to not have to ride those here for daily commuting. The buses do drive like lunatics here. Another thing I noticed was cleanliness and upkeep of facilities like restrooms which I think Bangkok has an edge over KL in. I think you're right that the longer I stayed in KL and got more comfortable with it, other things I would appreciate would come to light.
