I’m not sure if you understand what the electoral college was designed for it has nothing to do with governmental pawns. The idea behind it was the fact that we are the United States of America and the federal government is the entity keeping the states together. Therefore, each state has a say in who the president becomes not necessarily based only on the states population, but also on the fact that the state contributes to The national country as a whole
The electoral college is less of a problem than our (lack of) campaign finance laws. Imagine how our elections and representation might change if the only persons (and I mean persons - no corporations, PACs, nor unions need apply) - if only persons who are the potential constituents of a candidate could contribute to that candidate's campaign. No DNC funds, no RNC funds, nothing raised outside the district or state, with only voters or potential voters allowed to contribute. How much more responsive to an electorate would an elected official be if that electorate was indeed the only thing keeping him or her in office?

However, the number of EC votes a state has is still based on the overall population of that state - and some states are "all or nothing" states, which means they don't actually reflect the actual number of votes in the state. Those states give all their votes to one candidate, even if that candidate only got 51% of the votes in their state by the popular vote. This is true of both California (where over 11% of the entire population of the country reside) and Texas (where about 9% reside) as well as others.
Which means... you could have up to nearly 10% of the popular vote not even matter under the EC system... and that's just looking at two states.

I am in favor of getting rid of the Electoral College, but not totally getting rid of the filibuster. The rules for it needs to be modified, but I think there is justification for using it.
We essentially only have two political parties making laws in our country and (at least prior to the current _MAGA Republican_ bent) neither "side" has a full monopoly on what is "best" for the country as a whole. Negotiating a middle ground is often, if not always, necessary. (jmo)

the deep state had the current president reclassify documents his predecessor declassified with an executive order, saying the previous president had no executive powers
this proves they knew trump had those powers for documents from his term

article 2 means even congress can't make laws telling POTUS what is a classified

If they only took votes from living American citizens democrats wouldn't be close. Its not what the people want and Biden shows that every day.
Think of how different our country would look if we always followed the popular vote. For one, Al Gore would have been president and would have addressed climate change decades ago. Hillary Clinton would have also been president and we wouldn't have lost so many Americans to covid. We wouldn't be dealing with Trump and his crazy cult followers. Roe vs Wade would have never been overturned. We'd have universal healthcare. The list goes on.
The crazy part was, none of his opponents ever hit him hard with these facts.

Former failed president Trump needs to be held accountable for his actions/words. He has no respect for our judicial system and does as he pleases with no fear of punishment. Anything less than served jail time (minimum of 3 months) is just plain wrong and unacceptable! Justice needs to prevail for our nation to survive & thrive.
I only wonder WHY he isn't behind bars already. If it were myself in his place (thank God I am not), I'd be held until I was tried. Rest assured it would be a guilty verdict. Seriously??
