Dunkey has stated here and there that SM64 has played a vital part in his life and thus it was to be expected for him to praise it in such a way.

That staff roll theme always brings me to tears. Maybe because when I heard that theme for the first time, I had this big sense of accomplishment. This game at the time was the biggest game to me, and to finally finish it to the end as a kid, it was just euphoric. Hearing the happy tune in the end as the birds chirped off into the distance and the credits roll some of my favorite moments of the game just to quickly relive it. This game is just amazing. One of the most memorable experiences of my life.
"Thank you so much-a for-a playing my game".

Same here, sm64 was my very first game, whenever I hear that I cant help but tear up, it was such a time of innocence and adventure. I can only hope near the end I still am able to cherish that memory.

Dude, when he said “22 years later and Mario is still dancing on all these mega-budget games with their clunky ass characters” (about 1:16)
I immediately thought of how Odyssey is doing so well and how the first thing that is always brought up is how smooth it plays. It’s just fun to jump around, and it works so well. It’s basically just a sequel to SM64, yet it trounces so many other massive titles that are way more complex.
They've changed almost nothing from Mario 64 except made it a little bit smoother and more responsive. The fundamentals with Mario 64 are just that damn good.
Being completely serious, this is exactly Mario 64. As a child I was amazed with it and had so much fun just messing around, as an adult the game dogged my every step, begging me to really finish it. Now when I finally completed it, I was in love all over again. This game is a rite of passage, if you want to be a real gamer, you must play it

It will remain a favorite forever. The game made my childhood more beautiful, I'm sorry that there are no such games nowadays, there has never been such a big breakthrough in the field of games since then.
The music, the mysteries, the possibilities that this game gave with the technology that was available at the time are fantastic. I still remember how happy I was when I defeated Bowser in the last battle, I cried tears of happiness and I was also sad that the adventure was over. After that I was trying to find all the secrets, I remember that I got the official Super Mario 64 manual with all the secrets, but I didn't read it until after I found the secrets myself (well, sometimes I cheated a little).
