    Hi Nicole, thanks for sharing this. I have a big problem that i have never seen. When i import my alembic into CLO it scales small very crazy in 1 frame and basically disappears and when i go back in the timeline it never appears again, its so weird. I have deleted all scale frames from the armature, applied rotation, followed step by step this and your previous tutorials and still have the same problem. I have reimported that alembic into blender and there are no scale issues, i dont understand what to do, can you please help me? or there is maybe a way to reach you for screenshots? maybe via discord or whatever. Thanks again Nicole!

    I've been facing a problem for hours and I can't solve it. As my walking animation was very short, I followed the step-by-step instructions in your other video to extend the animation so that the character does not return to its initial position. Until that part everything was fine. But when I went to put the doll in the T-pose 30 seconds before the walking animation started, the doll's animation was buggy, during the loop it kept returning to its initial position throughout the loop. What I'm trying to do is make the character start in the t-pose and after that, he loops around walking forward without returning to the starting position. Can you help me, I'm a little desperate here. And thank you, your videos have helped me A LOT!

    im able to do everything now but when i bring my animated clothing with avater and baked my textures in a 1 uv when i add the image texture i cant get it to stay on each clothing pattern like the skirt and top separate. and when i do udim tiles it only fits the tshirt material correctly and the skirt material is nowhere. i think once i figure out this fix ill be so much better thanks a lot for your tutorials absolutely amazing

    • @nicoleholtan3d
      @nicoleholtan3d  2 месяца назад +1

      Hey! So if you have a top and bottom and export it together all the UVs need to be in 0-1, do you have every single shell in the 0-1? You can export the top and bottom separate so they are separate alembics and have separate 0-1 UV maps, but I think you'd have to delete one in clo and export the other, then vice versa. Not sure if clo allows you to export each separate as an alembic. Otherwise try other export methods, .fbx or .glb! They allow you to have more control of the meshes and textures vs alembics where it is just one texture map. Does that help?

      @@nicoleholtan3d it helped tremendously! I export alembiv and used all my patterns in one uv and it worked perfectly. Do you have any tutorials on fbx and glb ?

    • @nicoleholtan3d
      @nicoleholtan3d  2 месяца назад +1

      @@Vertexvoyager I don’t have a tutorial directly about this, but the reason for the visual texture is normal and bump maps! You can export normal maps from clo and link them in blender, you can also make your own in photoshop or purchase pre made materials from websites like abdobe stock. Clo3Ds preset fabrics all have normal maps on them, so if you use a preset fabric from clo you can export the normal map in the UV editor

    I'm using human gen for my model and after I rig with animation and export alembic I load into clo and can't get the arrangement points to work, any help?

    • @nicoleholtan3d
      @nicoleholtan3d  4 месяца назад

      Hmm sometimes the arrangement points don’t automatically create quite right. But if you fully create the garment on a T or A pose with correct arrangement points, and follow this workflow you may not need arrangement points on the .abc animated avatar. If that makes sense? Becuase the garment should already be created/lined up on the original avatar you uploaded to Mixamo as well as the new animated one you downloaded.
      There might be tutorials for manually setting up arrangement points- I’ve never tried!

    Hi great video! When I get right to the last step after adding the textures in shading, how do I then export the whole thing as a glb ? When I click back onto layout the textures I added in shading doesn’t appear as it does for you. Thank you!!

    • @nicoleholtan3d
      @nicoleholtan3d  3 месяца назад +1

      Hi, thank you! If you go back to the layout window from the shading window and the textures aren’t visable anymore, my guess is you have different viewport shader settings for each window! Check this by going to the top right corner of your 3D viewport in the layout tab, and clicking on another viewport shader option to see if the textures become visible!. The viewport shader options are the circles along the top right corner

    • @nicoleholtan3d
      @nicoleholtan3d  3 месяца назад +1

      Those settings will stay where you left them last, so it’s possible your layout tab/window is in “solid view” and your shader tab/window is in “material view”, so the textures are still there just not visible with the solid view setting

    Hi again! Ive got the avatar and the garments with the animation into blender and am trying to export them both as a glb file, but when I open the glb file only the avatar is moving and the garments stay still, is there a reason why this has happened and can I fix it? Thanks!!

    • @nicoleholtan3d
      @nicoleholtan3d  3 месяца назад

      Hey! Hmm well I’d maybe start with double checking the animation in clo didn’t get deleted accidently, make sure you can still scrub through it. Then I’d try to just export the clothing by itself, and I’d try it as an .ABC file if it’s animated!

    • @elizajamer

      @@nicoleholtan3d Hi, I checked the animation and it's all okay, i tried removing the avatar from blender so it was just the clothes and the armature and it just exported as the clothes not moving. I can scrub through it in blender and both the clothes and avatar move together it is just when i export it the clothes dont move! Do i need an armature for the clothes too? Thanks for your help!!

    • @nicoleholtan3d
      @nicoleholtan3d  3 месяца назад

      @@elizajamer you don’t need armature for clothes because when you record the animation in Clo and export the .abc the movements are stored frame by frame in the file! So when you import it into blender, the clothes should have the same movement as they had in clo.
      Just to clarify are you having the issue exporting from clo3d, or exporting from blender? It sounds like both animations are working in blender atm, let me know if I’m reading that wrong

    • @nicoleholtan3d
      @nicoleholtan3d  5 месяцев назад +1

      Hey! Hmm that’s weird, I’m not sure why it would delete the whole animation and not just all the data of frame 0 where your curser was on. My first suggestion is reimport the avatar and start fresh following the steps, but I’m assuming you did that already.
      Do the nodes still show on your timeline but when you scrub over them nothing happens? Or all the nodes are completely gone after you clear transformations?
