For the last question: there is a much easier way. If you have the same mix for phones and speakers and you want to switch between outputs (like there was said) you just set up your phones as Speaker B and use Speaker B button (which can even be assigned to a physical control on the interface in the Key Control Settings). You can also configure Cue settings and use it to quickly send some channels to phones without touching faders. TotalMix is full of features that are worth to explore.
i am trying to get a solid clean guitar or bass hi_Z signal going. Are the line iputs truly for hi-Z instruments? With only 9db of gain, a Fender Strat, or Precision BAss leave a lot of headroom on the table, It goes to -24DB to -12db , when playing normally. That is not enough gain, ideally. My Motu ULMk5 easily can add +25db on these inputs, and I usually ad 15db to be in the safe zone. I would certainly not want to use a preamp or DI box with a high quality audio interface with Hi-Z inputs - hence me asking - if these are truly Hi-Z inputs . And why only 9db of gain? (when switched to -10dBV ). Getting proper gain is way more important for guitars or used than line inputs since few peole will connect a keyboard these days in that way.
What is causing the random audio distorted repeat glitches? I hope it's not the RME interface you are reviewing! I've had those glitches on Sound blaster cards but not very often.
@@pianostuff191 yes, now you can with no problems, but paying nearly £200 more than the normal price at £600 about 1.5 years ago. At this current price, for £800 or more, this unit doesn't really make any sense anymore for what it offers.
Not sure what that means. You can use it as an interface for Mac, Windows, iPad, etc. Or, you can use it as a stand alone AD/DA or mic preamp. If it's used as an interface via USB, that is not "standalone".

can I do this on babyface fs? I'd like to send recorded guitar track to an external analog reverb/delay and bring it back in stereo with speaker monitors connected. is it possible , I mean how do I send signal out besides main outs

Is it bad if I have the baby face pro FS powered on throughout the day daily? Is it built to power on for long hours of use? How would this portable interface compare with the larger RME interfaces i.e. UCX or UFX+ in terms of being able to stand for long hours of usage? I do want to say that my Babyface Pro FS does get quite warm to being hot when left powered on throughout the day mainly being used in my home studio.
How can l record (clean), direct, my guitar, and than being able to re-amp the recorded track (Nuendo/Cubase)? I’d like to send it (re-amp it) to my Kemper for a wet stereo signal (which l need 2 more inputs for this)? Also l forgot to mention- l need to connect this interface to my studio monitors (Mackie 626) - so another 2 Outs....?!? I need help please!!!!!!
What a laggy vid, hope that babyface users don't experience such a horrible cracky recordings with digital bugs! Wouldn't wish anyone to buy a 900$ soundcard with unable to record clear audio!(
I just got a Babyface Pro FS and experiencing a lot worse bitcrush distortion interuptions. At least once every two minutes. After looking at forums apparently very common problem. Running MacBook Pro 16" i9. Never had a single problem with my UAD Arrow. Sound quality and latency wise, it’s a definite win for the RME!
@@daveandrew7014 Guess what? I just got my UAD Apollo Twin X for my windows (100% Compatible) Sadly UA isnt transparent, they claim its compatible however its not, it sucks, I shouldn't have to troubleshoot for 24 hours, when i spent $900.
I found a solution for my RME signal interference and cut out problem by turning off and on both my Wifi modem and the Wifi on my MBP. After only once reset, the problem never came back.
worst interface of all time. 48 hrs and still battling to live track and channel properly, good god, got a neumann and babyface and cant even kick my feet up. horrendous

This was easily the best breakdown of how to use TotalMix FX. The software playback area was what was confusing me.

No problem, the synth can be connected to the Instrument 3+4 inputs as well.

If you use a balanced connection then use the mic inputs (XLR).

in mic input 1-2 you have to use 0db in order to avoid internal mic preamp. That means you can use an external 4 mic preamp.
