Even though I'm commenting on a year-old video at this writing, I would like to extend my thanks for a well-thought-out brief video that is extremely helpful in explaining a complex but powerful tool that is TotalMix.
Thank you for this really helpful video. The only negative is that like so many other videos, the background “music” is very annoying, distracting and serves no purpose.
I really like how your started with the hardware before diving into total mix. You are a very good teacher. I will be coming back yo go over this until I am thorough. Thank you! 😁
this is the first rme video that makes sense! Thank you. I would like to record my vocals while hearing the reverb fx from logic, can you explain why i'm not hearing it realtime? and how to make it work? i'm probably missing something simple.
No one can answer this question: I have a perfect gain but when I record my output vocals are at -30db. How can I crank up the ending volume so when I record I can have my vocals at -10, etc? Is there a way to do this in Total Mix?
hi, how can I lower only the audio of the base in the headphones, while recording my voice with the microphone? Thanks in advance. Mauro ps. I have a babyface pro fs
I can only get sound from the headphones on my baby face pro fs device. Although it gives the speaker signal in totalmix, there is no sound from the speaker or my microphone. I have been going crazy for 2 weeks. I have tried everything. There is no problem with the cables. When I plug the same cables into my focusrite device, I can get sound from the speaker and microphone. I am fed up with this
Aye bro two things one windows 11 click your sound input and change it to Speakers ( RME Baby face PRO) after go to total mix right side of the screen where it shows routing mode level meters and show. On Routing Mode Click Free and you should be good. Hope this helps 😎👍🏼
You included Studio monitors, but how about our subwoofer?? Recently purchased the pro fs, I ended up doing an RCA to 1/4 inch to hookup my sub alongside my monitors, but, the audio for phones and outputs are separate so I cannot get a balanced understanding of my Sub's level in my mix. Is there a way to have my monitors and subwoofer as one proper output controlled by one level so I can monitor my mix aloud? How can I best hookup my subwoofer? Please help.
@@endosick3998 jbl sub 160, no input for monitors. from an old surround sound system. Is there an xlr to peaker wire option that'd work? even then, it's RCA input
Studio Monitors, without a subwoofer? Please help. How best can I use a subwoofer with my monitors? May be a "dumb" question, though, my previous el cheapo interface allowed me to plug in my subwoofer, too. This isn't as straight forward and I don't wish to plug it into the headphone jack and separately adjust the volume.
Usually the "matched" sub has 2 XLR in and 2 XLR out. You would connect to the sub first, the sub does the crossover, and sends the high pass signal out to the L & R monitors.

Thanks. Glad it helped
Thank you kindly the RME videos are more marketing than support
Just the right amount of information I was looking for in order to have my BabyFace up and running quickly. Thanks!
Super helpful, solved a problem I was wracking my brain over -- thank you!
Thank you for this information/tutorial! Helped me out greatly to get up and running. Keep up the good content.
Thank you for such a simple and insightful video!

Thanks for 720p video! It's definitely better than 240p. Big screen, small window, lousy resolution - all I need:)
Thanks so much for this tutorial! Great stuff indeed! 😃
This was great and saved me a lot of time.
Thank you! This was a really helpful tutorial
Amazing video, thanks!
Super helpful! thank you!
How do we get Total Mix (and the device) to talk to the DAW. Fantastic overview btw, just what the Doctor ordered.
Just saw this. Do you still need help with this? In general you need to select the babyface as your audio device in your DAW's audio settings
@@SynthaxInc Thanks but I’m good now.
This is a great video
appreciate the info.

How can i expand the number of entries of Babyface Pro ?
Ottimo video grazie, un vero peccato per la mancanza dei sottotitoli Italiano, ne avrei davvero bisogno, grazie 🙏

I imagine that for any of the digital outputs but you need an A/D or D/A converter
what subwoofer do you have? it Don't have input and output for your monitors?
That way you can control the volume from Analog output 1/2.

even then, it's RCA input
I generally go out of the interface Ito the sub (eg KRK system) and from there the sub has Hi Pass outputs to the monitors up on the desk.

@@JeffPetersenSynthax Got it. I was not using a sub I could connect to my monitors. Ordered one up. Thank you
