As a speedrunner, I saw this run within 12 hours of it happening and my mind was blown by how fast it was. Zylenox had reset over 1 million seeds and had tied the world record once before this. He also had the fastest blind travel and the 3rd fastest speedrun, and it was only a matter of time until this happened. Love to see speedrun videos being incorporated into the channel. Keep up the good work!

I am also a speedrunner and I was also shocked, when I saw this run while he was playing, I was there on a world record. I was so impressed while he was playing it. Congratulations Zylenox, for having a WR, you are the perfect runner to hold it.

He got a 8:13 yesterday so now he has the 1st,2nd and 4th fastest speedruns ever. This 8:13 of his is a epic run in terms of entertainment

Fun fact: in the time it took for him to get the run verified, he beat the former world record of 8:15 by 2 seconds again.

The reason the boat broke, was because it fell from a specific height. If you fall with a boat some random specific heights, then the boat breaks when it hits the grund. And it breaks into *sticks and planks*, like it did back in the day
As a speedrunning fan myself this was such a joy to watch. Btw blind travel is the correct term to use for building the portal after you got the pearl and rods. Educated is used when you go back to your original portal which rarely happens now days.
i think you mean home portal when you say educated, educated is going back to the overworld with a blind portal, throwing an eye, then going back to the nether and building a 2nd portal approximately where the eye pointed in the overworld
i think SB just said "educated" because he thought the term was interchangeable with calculated
@@vanilluhs Yeah, usually educated was used for single eye throw estimations, which back in the days before calculator programs were allowed could give direction only, but not distance. It tended to be used a lot for home portal, though, because the player would know that the distance was so great that distance accuracy wouldn't be fantastic anyway. Plus, home portals in any percent are often in ocean ravines, which makes it slower to try to do two accurate eye throws than it usually is on land. So they'd do one.
Educated is also a little bit risky when done from a regular blind portal that's within the stronghold ring. You have no idea where exactly you are relative to the stronghold when you throw only one eye. Hypothetically you could be right next to it, and then overshoot it massively. From home portal that's not an issue since you're not in the stronghold ring at all when you're doing your eye throw. So for all those reasons, educated is associated with home portal usage. It doesn't have to be from home portal to be educated, though. It only has to be a single eye throw without calculator.
Calculated referred to any method that included actual distance estimation, so it was always based off of two eye throws. Whether home portal or blind portal is irrelevant.
Educated and divine travel (the thing with the fossils that SB mentioned) both gave similar odds of being close to the stronghold, being based off of angles but completely free as to distance. Usually you're within about 500 blocks on your educated travel portal and often closer, which is quite good in a no-calculator world. (The average for a straight-up blind travel within a stronghold ring is more than twice that.) Full calculated was almost always at least that good (unless the distance was massive) and often better, with the best methods having a second portal within 100 blocks distance or even in the stronghold quite often.

zy used the pie chart to find the portal room, hes looking at the orange part of the chart and the direction it spikes, is the general direction of the portal room, this works because of the silverfish spawner (block entity), as the orange part represents block entities i hope this made sense a🦵

So for the end portal finding trick, he uses the same strat as to find the buried treasure. The pie chart has as spot called gameRenderer and you can see block entities in your line of sight through walls. Because mob spawners count as block entities, it will appear on your pie chart. i am 90% sure this is what he is doing
Spawners **_ARE_** block entities, not just "cOuNt As".
Computers are not subjective humans, it either is or isn't a block entity, there's no in-between or favours to be done

at 6:40 the way that he found the portal room was using the pie chart to look for spawners in the radius which is probably why (idk if he did cause i wasnt paying close attention lol) he turned his render distance down to 2 chunks.

The boat breaks when it falls from certain heights (like 13 or 55 blocks I believe) he actually made two flint and steel because he forgot he had one already, using fossils at 0,0 is called divine traveled but it's obsolete since calculated travel has been authorized

This is a little sus but really good Speedrun with knowing were to go and even just using the skills real good

A few clarifications:
1. He uses the orange section on the pie chart (the same one for buried treasures) to find the portal room, he is looking for a silverfish spawner.
2. In the end, he places those two pieces of crying obsidian because he knew that the dragon was going to charge, and he did not want the breath to be in the bedrock fountain (otherwise he would die in the one cycle).

What does placing the crying obsidian do ?
Does the dragon even care about blocks ?
I thought all he has to do to direct the dragon bombs away from the exit portal frame is to be away from it

Mc knowledge is completely separate from technique, sb def has what it takes to speedrun, but it’d take a LOT of time and prsctice so he’d have to slow down his hardcore drastically, which he’d probably never do

I think SB would be a very good speedrunner. He has the base skills and he has the right mindset as far as I can tell.
World record is a whole other thing though. Guys like Zylenox make it look far easier than it is to be that fast. Not even to mention the amount of dedication it takes to go through that many attempts to get one where everything works at the same time.

Btw, you can only use fossils (divine travel) to locate the stronghold if they are in the 0, 0 chunk in the nether. Please correct me if I'm wrong. Also, you find the portal room with the silverfish spawner, with the pie chart.

Yeah divine gives you a specific range of angles from 0,0 that the stronghold is in, corresponding to the x value of fossils, animals or a few other things in the 0,0 chunk of the overworld or nether. The reason that divine is barely used now is a) it's super super rare and b) it's outclassed in both reliability and precision by calculated travel. Also the pie chart technique (called piedar, pie chart radar) shows spawners as one category, so other mob spawners such as zombie, skeleton, creeper, spider, and cave spider are all shown in the same group. This has led to many many runs being slowed down as a direct result of it, such as Crooksts previous 6:25 end enter wr, where he spent around 57 seconds in the stronghold due to misleading piedar info.

By the way, he did get 6/6 blaze rods before he made the portal at the fortress. The 4th blaze did drop a rod but it was only visible for a few frames

He found the portal by using the pie chart which showed the tile entities as end portal frames are tile entities.
no, end portal frames are not entities at all, silverfish spawners are and it can be hard to pinpoint a silverfish spawner from dungeons, mineshafts, and stronghold chests
at 1:16 he crafted to pairs of flint and steel
Fun fact zylenox forgot he already had flint and steel and crafted a second one, even god players like him make mistakes

theres no difference now to just using cheats and prejacking a seed to make you win
