    The movie is like that favorite old book you can't help but cherish-the one with its comforting scent, familiar touch, and a sense of belonging that envelops you like an old friend. Every page is filled with memories, associations, and lessons learned, like whispered secrets shared in quiet moments. Yet, as you delve deeper, you realise there's so much left unsaid, leaving you with profound realisations that linger long after you've closed its cover.

    What I like about the movie "Laapataa Ladies" is that it didn't try to be overly preachy. I've been eagerly awaiting a feminist film like this, one that depicts the reality of women's struggles and the freedom they deserve without explicitly prescribing solutions. The movie beautifully portrays three different perspectives: Jaya/Pushpa's desire for freedom and education, her reluctance to be tied down by marriage as she prioritizes her education; Manju Maai's self-value and independence, seeing herself as capable of anything; and Phool's acknowledgment of the value of independence while still choosing love and returning to her husband. The film highlights the importance of financial independence and portrays male characters with depth: Deepak, a loving and understanding husband who values his wife deeply, and the contrasting Pardeep, who is arrogant and fails to see women as equals. Shyam Manahor's character undergoes a transition, showing the potential for change. The movie doesn't force its messages but rather presents societal issues for viewers to interpret. It's a truly beautiful film, and I recommend it to everyone who hasn't seen it yet. Undoubtedly one of the best movies of 2024.

    Lapata ladies showed two female characters, which came from similar background but had different views on life. The character development of Phool, from being a naive, but so sure of Deepak's love for her to transitioning to a girl taking care of destiny in her own hands. Then we have Jaya, the girl with so many emotional baggage, but still facing it all and holding to a minute chance of fate, and trying to build her life.
    To not forget about Deepak and his simplicity and honesty towards his marriage.
    The other thing what I loved was, each charector had a back story, which made audience feel their contribution to the storyline

    To be honest, the film was overly simplistic. Though the performances of all the female characters were outstanding, somewhere, the performance of the lead boy/man felt a bit forced and cartoonish (as if he was trying to perform the character instead of being the character;) but other than him, all the male actors were also good, especially the cop played by Ravi Kisan, the one who played the Dad of our main male character, and his friends.
    Still, the female performances do take the cake here!
    But I still do feel, the writing could have been a bit better, given the gravity of the subject matter being discussed.

      @rushabhsagara8766 2 месяца назад

      @@knowitall1005 Yeah probably I am. Just putting out what I felt from his performance. I really felt that at times his was the only performance which felt like a "performance".
      But I'll still say that there were times when even he was good. For instance, when he realises that he had somehow lost his wife at the train stations, the urgent apathy that he channelled on his face was honestly good. But as the film went on, I honestly found him to be increasingly cringy and cartoonish. The writing also was honestly underwhelming at times.
      Honestly, I have no ill feelings for the person playing the role. I still cherish his small role in that boomer ad that he did in the past. And if people finds his performance adorable, I have absolutely no ill feelings of the same. I just think that the direction could have been better. Maybe with experience, he'll surely prove me wrong.
      Anyway, that is just my opinion, and I just thought of putting it out.

    It’s a very good film hence people are liking it.
    It’s so sad that film companion gives stupid and lousy people like Sonam,Sara , Ananya a platform to call them good actors who can’t act to save their life’s and does not give superb cast of this film a platform to showcase / acknowledge their talent . Sad

    After those terrible South influenced Telegu type vulgar movies ,we got this film as a breath of fresh air full of decent humor, no vulgar scenes and a sweet love story.

      Because they dont have the budget to manufacture the "word of mouth" that most big films have. They know they have to work within a certain budget. You need buzz, you have to throw money. Otherwise, you have to rely on the content solely to create the footfalls.
