Remember back in the anime arc where she was in one of those ink zuccer machines, I think Mr. Puzzles gave Francis these machines so he could drain all the ink out of Meggy and all the other inklings. Something that's been bugging me is MR. PUZZLES's change of approach; he used to work in the shadows and target emotionally unstable people, now he targets randomly and interacts with them often.
Perhaps it’s because he has been slowly weakening them and getting them ready for his plan. He did cause the original castle to be destroyed and then provided them a new one. He might have used Wren as a test drive to see how they would react to his simulations and the best I can think of with Marty is that he wanted them gone from the new castle for a short time so he could prepare them for his plan. Now they are at his mercy and he is comfortable to reveal himself to them.
I like the Clench = A Counter Program because when he says where Tari comes from, he stop it from being pronounced to prevent Tari from knowing the truth as it wouldn’t be good for Tari as she might become self aware to the fact that she and the other characters are in a digital world.
I think he’s an AI just like Caine from TADC. Smg3 (Main Character) wants to escape the princess story thing, while Pomni (Main Character) wants to exit the circus. And while Mr Puzzles controls the shows if anything goes wrong, Caine can control his world too.
I think the reason why Mr. Puzzles is using the SMG4 Crew is because of the fact that they are both popular in both the real world and their world as well, so Mr. Puzzles might be using them as a way of gaining attention to his shows, and receive good ratings.

I was thinking the same thing abt ur first theory, I reckon that depresso is also linked to the carnival aswell and maybe he worked with Mr puzzles. Depresso is always hanging at the showgrounds and we see him a lot... mostly trying to interact with the crew. Depresso might be trying to warn the crew and this is more evident at the start of the episode "no tv make mario not okie dokie" where we can see depresso rushing towards the castle probs trying to warn the crew before very conveniently being struck by lightning. But why would he want to warn them? From what we've seen (contrary to what Last Man On Earth showed us), Depresso isn't really that close to the crew and he doesn't like them at all. He was one of the only two characters not seen in WS (Hal Monitor I could see having some sort of excuse) and yet we saw the anti cast appear in the WS movie. Although, it is weird how he keeps on appearing throughout the recent episodes. However, I do wonder if in the No TV episode why Depresso was biking frantically to the castle. I do think Depresso might have ties to the showgrounds since he doesn't get along with the others that well. I believe Depresso was the one who recorded the live stream for IGTBP. It couldn't have been the other main characters since they couldn't barge the door down nor could it have been the adware by this line alone "What are you doing here? GET OUT!" By that line alone, we can infer that whoever recorded that livestream had to be someone SMG4 recognized. Of course, by what I said earlier, this individual recording said livestream couldn't be anyone from the main crew. This means that whoever recorded the stream had to be someone who was not necessarily close to the crew, but at the same time, not a complete stranger. Depresso fits that bill since he's not really that close to the crew, but he's not a total stranger. Of course, you could make the argument that it could have also been Karen or Kaizo since they also fit the bill of "not close to the crew, but not complete strangers"

While the crew try to explain it was all an accident, they are called to the president's office. The President chews them out for their actions, stating that their involvement in heroics has managed to increase crime rate in the mushroom kingdom exponentially. SMG4 and his friends try to explain that they're just doing their job, but according to the president, their problem is that they see themselves as these badass heroes than normal people. Meggy tries to recall the various times they saved the earth only for the president to point out how the glitchy crew are "bad roles models for children". So he gives them the following choices; Leave the mushroom kingdom forever or stay in the city, but be forced to give away their powers and weapons to live a normal life. Begrudgingly, the SMG4 crew undergo a procedure that drains them of their powers and surrender their weapons. A year later, we see the crew hanging out at the showgrounds, bored that no arc villains have shown up. Tari and Melony don't mind it as they're glad to be taking a break from high stakes action. The others are bored and want something big to happen. Just then, they hear news of a mysterious criminal mastermind known as the Killer Cobra causing explosions around town and desecrating national monuments. No one knows much about him other than being highly dangerous, but the crew decide to use this to show the president that they are good heroes. Of course, this will be a lot harder since they don't have weapons or special powers. What do you think of this? It basically came from me wondering what SMG4 would be like if the mushroom kingdom it was set in was more grounded in reality. As for the villain Killer Cobra, he proves to be quite dangerous, but his reign of terror doesn't last long since he's just a normal everyday criminal. However, while he lacks any supernatural powers, Killer Cobra is highly manipulative as he is able to plan things accordingly and knows how to exploit the SMG4 crew's weaknesses against them.

The scene where Meggy, Tari, and 3 were banging on the screen for help before Mr Puzzles changes the channel reminds me of how various scandals happen behind the scenes of tv shows and yet often go unreported because the companies care more about a good public image.

i recently thought about something, mr. puzzles has 3 phases of a plan, first, being gaining control, he would find ways to show everyone within the universe he has power, with the it's gotta be perfect movie, the showgrounds, western spaghetti and wotfi 2023, phase 2, indoctrination, or should i say, looking for the cast, is where he gets the "cast" and gets them to be deeply into it, without knowing what was truly happening, like in the one where mario goes coocoo without tv, and the final phase i know of, being production, where he makes the shows with the characters, with them every once in a while "malfunctioning", and mr. puzzles has to fix it, as for the shows that are in the making, and the ones we have seen from puzzlevison.

Depresso might be trying to warn the crew and this is more evident at the start of the episode "no tv make mario not okie dokie" where we can see depresso rushing towards the castle probs trying to warn the crew before very conveniently being struck by lightning. Yk what... most of the time it seems like everything just keeps depresso away from the crew
But why would he want to warn them? From what we've seen (contrary to what Last Man On Earth showed us), Depresso isn't really that close to the crew and he doesn't like them at all. He was one of the only two characters not seen in WS (Hal Monitor I could see having some sort of excuse) and yet we saw the anti cast appear in the WS movie. Although, it is weird how he keeps on appearing throughout the recent episodes. However, I do wonder if in the No TV episode why Depresso was biking frantically to the castle.
I do think Depresso might have ties to the showgrounds since he doesn't get along with the others that well.
I believe Depresso was the one who recorded the live stream for IGTBP. It couldn't have been the other main characters since they couldn't barge the door down nor could it have been the adware by this line alone "What are you doing here? GET OUT!" By that line alone, we can infer that whoever recorded that livestream had to be someone SMG4 recognized. Of course, by what I said earlier, this individual recording said livestream couldn't be anyone from the main crew. This means that whoever recorded the stream had to be someone who was not necessarily close to the crew, but at the same time, not a complete stranger. Depresso fits that bill since he's not really that close to the crew, but he's not a total stranger. Of course, you could make the argument that it could have also been Karen or Kaizo since they also fit the bill of "not close to the crew, but not complete strangers"

Someone who, while not close to the crew, isn't a complete stranger. Lakitu and Depresso do fit the bill of "characters who aren't close to the crew but are also not strangers at the same time".

After defeating a powerful villain, the crew aren't given praise by instead scorn from the citizens for destroying the city. While the crew try to explain it was all an accident, they are called to the president's office. The President chews them out for their actions, stating that their involvement in heroics has managed to increase crime rate in the mushroom kingdom exponentially. SMG4 and his friends try to explain that they're just doing their job, but according to the president, their problem is that they see themselves as these badass heroes than normal people. Meggy tries to recall the various times they saved the earth only for the president to point out how the glitchy crew are "bad roles models for children". So he gives them the following choices; Leave the mushroom kingdom forever or stay in the city, but be forced to give away their powers and weapons to live a normal life. Begrudgingly, the SMG4 crew undergo a procedure that drains them of their powers and surrender their weapons.
A year later, we see the crew hanging out at the showgrounds, bored that no arc villains have shown up. Tari and Melony don't mind it as they're glad to be taking a break from high stakes action. The others are bored and want something big to happen. Just then, they hear news of a mysterious criminal mastermind known as the Killer Cobra causing explosions around town and desecrating national monuments. No one knows much about him other than being highly dangerous, but the crew decide to use this to show the president that they are good heroes. Of course, this will be a lot harder since they don't have weapons or special powers.
What do you think of this? It basically came from me wondering what SMG4 would be like if the mushroom kingdom it was set in was more grounded in reality.
As for the villain Killer Cobra, he proves to be quite dangerous, but his reign of terror doesn't last long since he's just a normal everyday criminal. However, while he lacks any supernatural powers, Killer Cobra is highly manipulative as he is able to plan things accordingly and knows how to exploit the SMG4 crew's weaknesses against them.

May want to change the title to "Who is Mr Puzzles" - I feel that makes more sense. Puzzlevision does seem "human" like and not an "it" thing. Will take a proper look at this theory at some point later tonight, just leaving my comment for the title and liking for later.
the reason is use 'what' is because I think he could be a program of some sort, though 'who' could definitely work based on what i theorise about in the first theory. IT’S GOTTA BE PERFECT is horror, Spaghetti Western is what it says on the tin, the 2023 War of the Fat Italians is an heist, hell, the last two episodes where an Blue’s Clues and Cinderella parody, respectively. All of them, just a genre done in a different way, all thanks to the SMG4 crew.
Mr. Puzzles has no real creative ideas, he just reuses the same stuff over and over and over and over again.

The scene where Meggy, Tari, and 3 were banging on the screen for help before Mr Puzzles changes the channel reminds me of how various scandals happen behind the scenes of tv shows and yet often go unreported because the companies care more about a good public image.

I have a theory that Mr.puzzle doesn't have powers per se, but he can create technologies and things like that, and with the Keyboard technology that he gave to smg4, he controlled smg4, and since smg4 is basically a Embodyment of the entire universe, once you control smg4, you control luke lerdwichagul, and once you control luke, you control the universe, This could explain some plot holes that had after its gotta be perfect

Maybe he represents the Algorithm or someone chasing it, that's why he's so obsessed with reviews and making entertainment. Other Arcs did something connected to RUclipsrs (SMG3 in the RUclips Arc represents copycat channels, Lawyer Kong repsented fear of copyright, The Bob arc shows how fame goes to people's heads, Anime Arc could be about how certain groups gets demonized while some people in those groups aren't as good as they seem, ect.) Maybe Puzzles means well but doesn't realize the actual harm he's causing the crew, not realising how "real" they are.

This is interesting since SMG0 was aware and broke the real world in a literal since, but this is a lot more subtle and extensive.
i recently thought about something, mr. puzzles has 3 phases of a plan, first, being gaining control, he would find ways to show everyone within the universe he has power, with the it's gotta be perfect movie, the showgrounds, western spaghetti and wotfi 2023, phase 2, indoctrination, or should i say, looking for the cast, is where he gets the "cast" and gets them to be deeply into it, without knowing what was truly happening, like in the one where mario goes coocoo without tv, and the final phase i know of, being production, where he makes the shows with the characters, with them every once in a while "malfunctioning", and mr. puzzles has to fix it, as for the shows that are in the making, and the ones we have seen from puzzlevison.

And possibly the showgrounds could be the SMG4's universe's parrels to Digital circus? Ive never seen her show but maybe Meggy has seen the symbol there instead of on the smg4 channel.

Personally, I believe he was a performer at the showgrounds back when it was a circus, possibly even the ringmaster however, when ratings for TV started dying down in favor of people watching RUclips videos perhaps it ran him out of business and so now he wants revenge on RUclipsrs he only went after SMG4 because he was the most readily available target
That could even explain how Meggy recognized his logo. Perhaps she watched some of PV's shows when she was much younger, but forgot about them as the popularity for the showgrounds declined.
