You did a good job, very efficient and neat and tidy and Hygiene cake. Tradition cake with a modern ingredient, I did very similar, my mom always crushed some garlic to Marinate with the pork and lots of black pepper. For the rice if you cook a little longer like half way cook, you don't need 6 hours boiling. I only use 2_3 hours only. Use a little bit of oil and soak with paper towel and rub around the cook cake will look shiny and appealing. You are right we can alter ingredients according to each person taste.
