Not sure why are people amazed by Musetti's shot making ability. Every top 20-30 player is able to make shots, difference between the greats and the rest is doing it consistently for longer that 3 sets and obviously match after match.

We can't really compare because Sampras grass is so different from the grass we have today. Djoker never even got to play on Sampras' Centre Court Wimbledon. If it stayed that way, Rafa and Djoker would certainly have won less. Alcaraz too

Basically Medvedev isn't good a time management in BO5 slams, he hasn't figured out that lots of long matches = bad and maybe I should be more aggressive in earlier matches against lesser opponents instead of waiting until I'm forced into doing it for two sets in the final, and wow, it works...so then when I'm up two sets I'll revert back to grinding. But hey, I'm sure it all makes sense and I'm told Medvedev is one of the "smartest" players on tour so I'm sure he'll figure this out.

@@CoffeeBreakTennis i recall last year many saying another youngster who was advancing quickly in grass, had a losing record on the surface - and novak was unbeatable on this surface... im not saying musetti is carlos BUT novak has had lapses in level and needs his serve to be working more than ever now for his grass game to be an advantage especially with the injury.. he hasnt really been tested from a movement perspective. ( Rune was a huge disappointment )

Djokovic is the favorite to win but he had the easiest draw and the injury of Hurkacz and De Minaur and the walkover straight into semifinals made his draw a joke. Also the knee is healed, the intervention was minimal , doctor Brian Sutterer explains it. Even Tiafoe from Alcaraz side was way more then Djokovic had to face, until the final he will not meet a top 10 player. So a well rested Djokovic against a very tired Alcaraz or Medvedev, very hard to see the final result.😅
yah it's a good time for it, I would say sure that may be true about the healing process but just being taken off the court for weeks after switching from clay to grass and not working out, that alone is a huge blow, especially right before wimbledon.

Meddy always plays best when he’s written off. If didn’t play so many 5 setters in AO I think he would have taken the title home.

I think it was pretty clear in AO that medvedev was exhausted after all the 5 setters hed played at the tournament. Sinner had very few by comparison.
