Great to see trains running through there again!! Huge trestle down the line a little but further going over the Mighty Cape Fear River when the line comes into Lillington.
Thanks for the video; it’s always a pleasure to see a new short line taking over a branch like this. A lot of the original Norfolk Southern Railway in central NC is rotting away; thankfully, it looks like this segment has a future. This sneaked up on me; I’d never heard of this railroad before, I guess because it’s so new. Thanks again for the video!
It’s definitely a nice flare of change seeing this new shortline operation pop up! I’ve definitely enjoyed every moment of it - glad I get to share it with y’all! Thanks for watching! 🙌🏻
I live in Fuquay-Varina but had never seen this from the Raleigh side so pretty awesome. Once they get out of Fuquay-Varina and head towards Lillington it has go to be the slowest moving trains I have ever seen in my life. I always wondered if it was because it was a deferred maintenance line and they had to move that slow.
Me too. Evidently there’s good money in car storage for the CLNA, and the line between downtown and the coal hoppers in East Raleigh doesn’t look so good. I hope something changes.
@@michaeljohnson7493 I agree I think those coal cars have been their for the better part 20 year so it’s kind of sad knowing how busy that line was at a time.
@@midnightexpress8556 sadly I doubt it’ll ever happen… there’s a large wash out that’s taken out a good portion of the line. Not to mention there’s very little “interested” customers along that stretch of the line… so the likelihood of that line seeing any action soon is very unlikely… as unfortunate as that is

Very cool footage man. It's been a while since I've been able to watch much train videos because I have been very busy with work and making videos myself as well... Looks like your still making the most awesome videos man 👍👍🚦
Me either, though they are being used for more different commodities, these days. Note that these aren't your standard centrebeam flat: there's no "roof" over the beam.
Another banging video! You’ve been killing it!8572 looks sharp in that RJ Red! Wish they had a similar operation close to me. Nothing but a switching op that barely comes out of private property.
That 8572 has long been a favorite of mine, especially having grown up seeing it in Nashville for many years. Pretty sweet I got to “take” it with me to NC! Thanks for those kind words my man!
I live in Johnston County, on the border with Wake County. I have recently been wanting to know more about the rail operation in my area and this really hit the spot. Thank you! I really enjoyed trying to figure out what was in all the cars and then guessing where they'd end up.
Any chance we could get satellite shots with the route highlighted in future videos? Something to show the scope of this line/the route for the day/etc.
Absolutely! I’ve got a few shortline videos that will feature just that.. sadly this video happened beforehand. I’ll have another R&F video in the future that will feature a map of the highlighted route. Thanks!
@@rail.tennessee Awesome, thank you. I went in Google Maps and found the Harnett transshipment site thanks to the overhead shot, but it's harder to get an overview of the entire line. Especially if you end up going into Fayetteville, that end and the connections are absolutely byzantine.
also to u have a time schedule for the train because I live right by 23:27 I live less than mile from that part yha that crossing I live really close 2@@rail.tennessee
4:30 I was staring at the short hood of that GE for ages trying to work out why it had eyes and eyebrows, until I realised that it's line drawings of two locomotives.
Thanks for watching! So over here in the states we have a numerical class ranking system, so your Class I’s are the large scale, national railroads (i.e BNSF, CSX, etc), Class II’s are the intermediate railroads (i.e Montana Rail Link, Iowa Interstate Railroad, etc), and Class III’s are your shortline railroads, regional railroads such as the Raleigh & Fayetteville.
Yes, RJ Corman has individual railroads that make up the Corman family. The Raleigh & Fayetteville is one of them, becoming the 19th addition for RJ Corman. As a result, this railroad is a brand new shortline to service this region of North Carolina.
I want to say THANK YOU to all of you the support on this video! Stay tuned.. I’ve got plans to drop another big video this Friday!
Happy Monday!
Nice Shots (Footage)!! That Nathan P3 is badass!! Is like Unstoppable (2010 film)!! And how nice to see a B39-8!!
Wow, last night I watched a video with a pair of narrow nose Dash 8s on another shortline, and today I get to see another! This is my week!

I Fell like we are on Thomas and Friends right now 😂😂😂 Great catches by the way 👍👍👍
One more thing.. Thanks for being so in depth with your footage. Great job 👍👍🚦
Glad to have you here again, Rob! Thanks for the kind words!
I worked that line many time when I worked for the NS. 1997 to 2001.
Great catch, love the switching, also when the engine came around the curve, and the engine was rocking love it. Great job R&F, RJ Corman

The use of center beam flatcars to haul steel I-beams is pretty interesting. Never saw them used for that type of load before.
Definitely sweet to see - would be cool to see in model form!

Great shot,of the harnette transload. Facility now i know what is on the other side of the threes.
Gotta Love those RJ Corman trains On the RFRR @RailTennessee

Nice presentation! You deserve more subscribers!
Wow what an amazing crossing!
I have not seen this line before. Great coverage. Thank you
Incredibly well done! Good stuff as always
My man! Thanks dude!
We have R.j as a local train here in Clarksville Tn it’s nice to see them in other cities. R.j lines interlocks with CSX in Guthrie Ky here.

U should see what there doing with that abadon railroad line in Fuquay-Varina
Unfortunately, I do not believe there is any intended use for that leg of the line. Maybe time will tell a different story..

P3's and jointed rail. Close your eyes for a moment, and it's the SP again.
Will they be developing their own livery, or just defaulting to RJ Corman and leased colors?
Nope, just the standard RJ Corman paint (like most other RJ Corman operations)
Just my imagination or were they running faster over the jointed rail than the CWR?
Amazing videos man, really like the commentary to! Quick question, what Microphone for audio are you using? +Rail Tennessee
Very interested for some one looking on from abroad can you explain the different class of lines l believe classes are A B C
