Hi HiK Guru. Thank you for your brilliant videos. I have installed a system as a new installer for a customer. I have also added the NVR to his site using the hik pro app . On handover page I handed the setup over to (myself) as the owner as a test run. As installer I requested full contol as well. On the Hik Connect app I accepted as owner and authorised the installer(in this case myself) Everything works perfect on both sides. My question! is it possible for the owner to transfer ownership again back to the installer or to another party. Ie building has beed sold with camera set up and the new owner now needs control of NVR
Hi. Great video. So easy to see and understand how to set up. I have one question I’m wanting the colorvu cameras but I don’t want the nvr and can I set it up on the app and web browser and to look at what’s been recorded from the sd card Thanks
Hi Michael. Thank you! Yes you can do this. As long as you can power the cameras either via a local psu or the usual way via a POE switch/injector. Yes just simply pop a microsd card into the camera and you’ll be able to playback. Remember to set either motion recording or full time recording. You’d have to set each camera up on the app separately. Please let me know if there’s anything else I can help with. Kind regards
@@michaelbaker6723 in the IP range they do 4MP and 8MP although the 8MP is only in bullet form at the moment, turrets are due to be released soon. In the HDTVI/poc range they do a 2MP/5MP/8MP.
I have the simplest of requirements. Two cameras connected to the NVR. I do not need any alerts or notifications. If I need to playback for any reason I just want to click playback and select the date and time etc. I definitely do not want 'motion detection' notifications every minute.(literally). I'll keep searching for a solution. Meanwhile it would be really helpful if HikVision posted some 'basic' setup instructions fir the above. Thanks.

Excellent video. My android mobile phone seems to get a 'motion detrction' notification every minute. I don't need this notification at all. How can I switch it off please? I have only 2 x cameras. Thanks
Hi Ronnie, if you go onto the Home Screen of your Hik-Connect app, press on the settings icon to the right of your system (depending on app version it may be a hexagon), then click on notification, then click on “not allow push notifications”, alternatively you could go into your android notification settings and disable notifications for this app in there.
Thank you for the excellent video on how to install the Hik-Connect App. This worked for my mobile phone perfectly. How do I do the same for my wife's mobile phone so we can both access the home CCTV? Many thanks
Hi Bruce, you would simply download the app on your wife’s phone, then click on login, then type in the credentials you used to register an account on your phone. So that’s either going to be an email address or mobile number, followed by the password you created. Hope this helps
👍👍👍👍👍👍 You have great videos!!!!!!!!!!!! I just connected my old hikvision cameras&NVR but i used the ivms-4500 on my phone....I had just one camera added to hik connect but i can not even change the ip of my new internet provider so it does not work even that it shows active on the SADP tool. do you think i should use the Hik-connect app? Thanks
Hi Alex! Yes definitely use Hik-Connect, there is no messing about with IP addresses then. Ensure that your NVR is up to date on the latest firmware and enable Hik-Connect on your NVR, and follow through the instructions on this video. Any further help just let me know
You can delete video notifications no problem. It won’t affect the footage saved to the DVR. You’ll just lose that triggered event. So if you wanted to play it back in future you would have to manually playback using the date/time search function
I can't thank you enough. My HIK disconnects fron my phone every time my router bootsd or I change/reinstall the app on my iphone. My installer charges me every time to come round and reconnect everything. I knew there must be a way to do this myself, bearing in mind how often this happens. Many many thanks.

Hello Can you help please? I recently bought a DVR which uses HikConnect and set up the app. The cameras were from existing system. The cameras go off after a while. I cannot even view on the HDMI connected monitor. Why is that? The cameras still show the current date and time.
Hi Fiery! The cameras will show current date and time regardless of the cameras working as this is a dvr set setting. What and how many cameras are you using, and what power supply are you using? Is it 1 power supply per camera or? What amperage is the psu? Are the cameras purely analogue HDTVI or are they power over coax (poc)? If you’re unsure you can send some pictures of the connections at the back of the dvr. Our email is HikGuru.yt@gmail.com

@@HikVisionGuru Hi Hik, I've sorted it, I synchronised the app with the clients phone so didn't have to use a computer or monitor at all, so all good, all up and running, client is happy. That was the only troublesome part of the install to be honest, Hikvision doesn't make it obvious on how to change the date & time on the app, everything else was pretty straight forward, Thanks again for the advice.
Hi Bob, yes you can. When on the playback screen there should be a [1x] button on the upper menu, tap on that and you’ll have options to fast forward 2,4,8 times. If the button is greyed out and can’t press it, please ensure your NVR firmware and Hik-Connect version is the most recent.
Hi Hik, Is the Hik-connect mobile app reliable and solid? Definitely sack the ring! Hik ColourVu turrets are great, get the G2 if you want AcuSense for motion detection. If not G1’s are cheaper but don’t have AcuSense. Hik-Connect is brilliant, they are always throwing out updates with optimisations and new features/functions. We have it running permanently on a few clients’ wall mounted iPads.

I can do everything up to take code photo because the cameras aren’t installed! If I do everything up till then will it just stay like that or will it time out? Really appreciate any help. Thank you.
Hi Marley! Yea the installer can do everything themselves, as long as they have access to the property and they know where the cameras are going, whether you’re deciding on camera positions or you’re letting them decide. As long as you’ve created a Hik-Connect account, and you’ve got the screen displaying a big + button and refresh button you’ll be fine. Hi. I live in a complex building. The managing agents installed about 12 cameras here in the complex. 3 of them are connected to my power and my WiFi. Everyone here has access to all cameras via there phones. The security company monitor these cameras 24/7. Managing agents said they will ajust the levies I pay monthly for the electricity being used and the mb/month being used for these cameras. Thing is that they are not able to tell me how much can be used if remote viewing is done if someone decided to do it 24/7. Can you advise an estimated mb per month?
This would be pretty hard to measure, as you say are people going to be using it 24/7, and how many users will there be who could potentially be using it 24/7. Cheeky that they are using your electricity also. If there’s 3 cameras on your network, if you figure how many kb or mb are being used for 1 camera per second/minute times it into per hour. Then times it by 3 cameras, then by 24, that would get you rough usage of all 3 cameras for 24 hours, but doesn’t take into consideration multiple users. It’s a tricky one!
I have no idea how to check the mb per second. That's why I am asking this. What would you estimate the usage be for one camera and one person in a 24 hr time frame? 100 mb, 1000 mb...?

Hi HiK Guru. Thank you for your brilliant videos. I have installed a system as a new installer for a customer. I have also added the NVR to his site using the hik pro app . On handover page I handed the setup over to (myself) as the owner as a test run. As installer I requested full contol as well. On the Hik Connect app I accepted as owner and authorised the installer(in this case myself) Everything works perfect on both sides. My question! is it possible for the owner to transfer ownership again back to the installer or to another party. Ie building has beed sold with camera set up and the new owner now needs control of NVR
Hi Eddie! Any new owner would need to add the device to their Hik-Connect app, using the serial number, that would probably be easiest.

Hi. Great video. So easy to see and understand how to set up. I have one question I’m wanting the colorvu cameras but I don’t want the nvr and can I set it up on the app and web browser and to look at what’s been recorded from the sd card
Thanks
Hi Michael.

Hi Ronnie, if you go onto the Home Screen of your Hik-Connect app, press on the settings icon to the right of your system (depending on app version it may be a hexagon), then click on notification, then click on “not allow push notifications”, alternatively you could go into your android notification settings and disable notifications for this app in there.

I have just got this app, once I delete notification video footage does it delete the footage off DVR aswell?
You can delete video notifications no problem. It won’t affect the footage saved to the DVR. You’ll just lose that triggered event. So if you wanted to play it back in future you would have to manually playback using the date/time search function

Firstly, you realise you've got 4K cameras and are only running at 1080P? Secondly not sure if you're aware but the 4ch NVR's cant handle x4 8MP cameras, you need the 8 channel for the processing power.
If you can put all of the main stream profiles into H265, not plus. The camera will likely reboot itself then the change will take effect.

My friend shared their cameras with me but they don’t have an encryption key, I have the SN of the Ethernet hub but there is no other info on the label, they had someone set their system up years ago and I only have their username and password for the App, how can I access the configuration system to find the key? Alternatively if they wanted to keep encryption on and they don’t know the code, you would need them to logon to their system via a screen or laptop, and check what the code is.

Get the installer to provide you with the DVR/NVRs serial number. Once the device is online, you can then input the serial number into the “manual adding” section of the app and get the system on your phone. If you need any help whatsoever drop me a comment/email/call and I can talk you through it, but I’m sure the installer will happily assist

And at the top right is a Mb counter of the video feed. Can I just multiply that by 24 to get a daily estimate?
@@Torursowden on Hik-Connect live view it should tell you how many kbps or mbps it is using, if you let me know what the highest number is as it does change every second, then I can work it out for you

Hi Jan, are you on the platform access menu of advanced settings? If not, you can always manually type in the serial number which is written on the maintenance screen. Let me know if you need further information
@@HikVisionGuru im in advanced settings but there is no qr code there to scan.
@@janjansen5810 Have you managed to enable Hik-Connect? if you then go onto the maintenance screen, you should see your systems serial number. You then go onto the app, tap on + in the top right corner, tap on manual adding, then type the serial number in there. However you only need to type in a small amount of that serial, I don’t suppose you’ve still got the box of the nvr or you have physical access to the NVR? It is written on the label of the box, and also underneath the NVR.

Hey, i cant watch live feedback from a different network. I have to be connected to the same wifi. How to fix that?
Hi Aymen, Are you trying to view from Hik-Connect?
@@HikVisionGuru yes!
How have you added the device to Hik-Connect? Via its IP address or via it’s serial number?
@@HikVisionGuru yes I did, I tried multiple ways and it keeps saying local device.
Do you have access to your dvr/nvr? On Hik-Connect click on the top right + button and click on manual adding, then in the serial number field, look under your dvr and on the label you can see the serial number starting with 1 letter and the rest numbers. Type it in and keep pressing next until complete, you should then be able to view on any network
Hello, and thanks for the video! I have a HikVision Speed Dome (DS-2DE4425IW-DE S5) but I do NOT have an NVR/DVR. I installed the Hik Connect app on my Android phone. I inserted a SIM card into the camera directly and now I am trying to connect to the camera directly from my phone. Can you please tell me, do I just use the QR code on the back of the camera's body instead of the QR code on the NVR in your video? Do I need anything else to set this up? It says the camera is offline when I tried using the camera QR code (sticker on the back of it). Thanks a mil!
Hi Tristan!
When you say SIM card, do you mean a mobile SIM card or a memory SD card? The camera doesn’t have the ability to connect to the internet by itself using a data sim if that was what you were thinking? It needs a connection to your main network if you’ve got one? You don’t need an NVR so you’re all good in that sense. And yes you would scan the qr on the camera or just write down it’s serial number so you can type that into the app instead. Let me know about your network and we’ll take from there.
@@HikVisionGuru thanks for the reply, and my apologies, I meant SD card, not SIM card :) I have a router which I'm connecting the camera to via a patch/ethernet cable, and because I don't have an NVR (for now anyway) I was hoping to access the camera directly from my phone.
@@H3ARTS4FORME have you got power going to the camera also? Assuming you’re not using poe if you’re plugging directly into router.
@@HikVisionGuru yes, I'm powering using the plug which came with the camera.

hi. I have my intercom connected to Hik-connect and would like to receive notifications on my apple watch. I cannot install hik-connect on my watch. why?
What Apple Watch have you got? It should work fine on Hik-Connect, have you checked the full app list on your watch?

Hi, I have noticed that after a recent power cut my dvr stops recording when it starts back up. Is this normal or is the recording schedule not setup correctly? Also, can you start and stop recording from the app?
Good evening, it isn’t possible to stop/start recording from the Hik-Connect app.
As for the recording not working, it could be a loss of settings although sounds strange. Is your dvr running the latest firmware? Have you got a screen plugged into your dvr, and if so, can you see the red record symbol in the top right corner of each camera? It could well be the record schedule being set incorrectly.
@@HikVisionGuru thank you - appreciate the reply. I will check the schedule 👍
@@dhewitt2514 make sure each channel is setup to continuous record (or however you’ve got it set), and also make sure the record function is actually enabled.

Hi. I was paying my installer to have this service and now I stopped. Can he block my NVR so I cannot set up for free?
You can still use it free of charge. He shouldn’t be able to block it no, he may have access to remove it from your account if he has proconnect. If so, you can just re add it to your account no problem.
@@HikVisionGuru Still i cannot connect the cameras. Hik Connect is enabled, I input manually the serial number of the camera but fails to connect. Installer had set up for me a DDNS address that he has now disabled. Do i need one to use the service?

You would need to remove the device to expose the qr code sticker, go into Hik-Connect, go to “me” in bottom right corner, click on “configure network” then scan the qr code on your doorbell and follow the on screen instructions.

Make sure platform access is enabled on the device, and that you’ve added the device to Hik-Connect via its serial number.
What do i do if all camera’s are saying offline how do i get them working again
Hi Melissa, on Hik-Connect is the black NVR/dvr icon (just above your cameras) greyed out or a solid black colour? This will tell us if there is a network issue with the backend NVR or if it’s the cameras themselves that are offline.
Hi. I have a Samsung fold and it won't push through notifications to the phone. I have followed all the steps but still nothing.
What app version are you running? Did you download it from the HikVision App Store?

@@ukdroneking Did you create your own Hik-Connect account or are you using the visitor mode option? Make sure you registered it to your account. If not you can always unbind the device so that will remove ownership of the device and you can then re add it. All you’ll need is the device password and to be on the same network as your NVR.
The linkage action setting is on the motion/intrusion/line detection page. Ensure the actual event is enabled, and again make sure notify surveillance centre is enabled. And remember to always click apply!
