- Our stay at the 1863 Inn is always a great time. Rooms are clean nice breakfast and location is the best. Make sure to call the Inn for the rates they change all the time on different seasons.

Back in the 80's and until '91 this was a Holiday Inn.
My dad stayed here when he drove me to Gettysburg College my freshman year-1980. My family celebrated my '84 graduation here along with many other families.
Really good location and comfortable rooms. Plus it has some nice views from the higher floors. Easy walk to Dobbin House, Farnsworth House, Mr. G's, and even Lincoln Square.

It is. It's a old Holiday Inn from years ago. Nice place at a decent price. It's not a Hilton but a good hotel. Thsnks for watching 😎

I stayed here for a couple of nights in May 2001. It was called the Battlefield Holiday Inn then. Asked for a room in a quiet location, so they put me around back in an annex-sort of building, right near the pool and steps away from the Wade House. Very quiet, clean. Just what I wanted. I'd stay there again.

Stayed there last month on the 5th floor. Great spot. Local to everything. Been watching all your Gettysburg videos. Love that town. We visit every year for the 4th of July.

That's a really nice motel. Wish we knew about these place when we were there 2 years ago. My husband is a Civil War buff so I know we will eventually get back up there again. The chipped beef and gravy looked really good. That is something that I grew up eating!
It's a very nice hotel. It's been updated so rooms are nicer than before. Just a great location and reasonably priced

Thanks Mark. It's a nice hotel that's reasonably priced. Gettysburg hotels are really expensive in the summer. If you stay out a few miles and drive in they cost less. The Super 8 outside of town is nice also if you come in July to save money. It's alot cheaper if you want to drive in and park somewhere. This hotel was 71 dollars 3 weeks ago and 142 now that summer is getting close. It's our favorite one. Thanks for comment 😀
We have stayed at the Cemetery Inn And Comfort Suite next to the cemetery. I decided this time We will stay at the 1863. Thanks for the review it helps. I just hope for a 5th floor front room as you mentioned, with any luck we will get one.

Thank you. Have 3 history ones still to put out. Bobbie and I just did one on the cemetery in Gettysburg took us around 4 hours to find the graves of the people. Hope you like it when we do it.
Mr. Gs is great. When we get in town late we run to Kennys Market and grab a few of Mr. Gs pints from the back.

That's crazy. Hopefully you can go soon. I was teasing you about the ice cream saying we just had it for you. It was packed as always and no chocolate which we like. They are opening a new ice cream shop downtown that looks really neat. It looks like a old 40 or 50's shop. It opens in 2 weeks we will try it next time to see if it's as good as Mt G''s. It's the ghost tour capitol of the world. They are everywhere. We have probably taken 30 tours in this town and did our own investigations. This hotel is in walking distance of all of them. Hope you get to go.😎😎
Think we stayed there but left for some reason & went to a Clarion down a street up & off to the right.

I usually stay at the Colton because of the convenience of being close and walking distance to restaurants.
There is a elevator inside to get to your room or you can walk the stairs outside of the building.😎😎
