Interesting app. Hadn't heard of it but looks like it might fix some problems I've had transferring money.
Yeah, especially with online banks. I've had someone mention that they set up a Zelle with their regular bank and a different Zelle with their online bank to make the money transfer happen instantly which is huge. I plan on trying it out, just have to change my email on my old regular bank account since it's the same as my Capital One.
Hey, i got a question. I am 13, can i use zelle? I have chase bank. Also, do i need ssn/ID for zelle? Last but not least, can i use zelle to receive payments from businesses, like survey sites?

I don't have zelle, but someone was asking. If their bank account is overdrawn and someone sends them money on zelli to their bank account, can they still withdraw the money?? Or is it not available due to the account being overdrawn. I think that's a fantastic question.

this is so random, but about 6 months ago i randomly received a payment from someone through zelle, and it was intended to go to my friend (he sold the guy a computer). I contacted my friend right after and we still haven't been able to figure out how that happened lol.

If the other person has Zelle, you can give them the email or phone number you have associated with yours. All they will need to do is plug that in and before sending it will confirm your first and last name (to make they are sending it to the right person) and a memo if they needed. Higher dollar amounts can sometimes take a bit longer (up to a day) if it's the first transfer between the two parties. Hope that helps.

someone helppp, for some reason when I open up capital one, i don’t see the “send money with zelle” option :(
If you have two banks like I have discover and chase, how do I go about switching which bank account the money goes to?
You would add a phone number or email to each account separately and when sending money to yourself, just plug in that info. When you set up the phone number or email it will ask you which account you want it associated to with each bank. Example, Discover you use your phone number and it goes to your checking, and with Chase your email goes with the checking account there. Hope that helps.

How long does the transaction limit last?
I don't know I need help I have south state bank and it say on zelle that SSB has zelle when I go to check I can't find it in the app?
I've seen that happen where a bank says they have it but it's nowhere to be found. In that case I'd call your bank and see if it's indeed available. My guess is the bank ended up not getting access to the feature.

what does it look like when someone sends you money? do you have to take any action on your phone/email or does it just automatically go into your bank account?
If you already have a Zelle account set up with your bank then you'll get an email saying that someone paid you. And that amount is deposited into your account using no more that 10 minutes. The only except is with large dollar amounts such as $1,000+. Those take a bit more time to process.
Transfer speed depends on active debit cards and how it was sent. For instant transfers, send to registered email/phone... and the sending and receiving bank accounts must both have active debit cards at least 1 business day old

Hi! Yes, you can send money to your own accounts. You'll just need to have two different emails or phone numbers to do so. My wife and I use our numbers for two Zelle setups to quickly transfer our money between Capital One and Discover.

Hi Emmanuel, unfortunately right now Zelle is only for banks in the U.S. I think currently PayPal might be the fastest option to transfer (with a fee).

When on the website click into your checking account and you should see "Send money with Zelle". If not see if you can find "Account Services & Settings". You won't see the Zelle feature under a savings account. Hope this helps.

Yes, they will need to make a Zelle account. Most big banks have the feature build into their service so it's really easy to get them started. Is Venmo declining your transactions from you to your friend?

Hopefully your regional bank has Zelle. If they do, the way to send money to yourself is to use one bank with your email and the other with your phone number (or a second email if you have one). That's what I do when possible. It's nice.

Fantastic! Just make sure to put in the correct phone number and email address and it will be easy and simple to send money back and forth between the accounts.
TruFinancials that’s the problem i’m running into. Both bank accounts have the same phone number and email.
If your overall accounts have both that's fine. It's when you go into the Zelle settings they need to be different. You can remove emails and phone numbers associated with Zelle accounts if needed too.
What safeguards are in place if the wrong email or phone number is entered?
I've never had that personal issue come up to be honest. They save any contact you've sent to in the past so I generally don't add new transfers. In the official Zelle video they do state to make 100% sure you get all the information correct (there's a confirmation prior to sending). I'll see if I can contact them to find out if there's a way to cancel a transfer. I would think if it's to an incorrect account that hasn't created a Zelle yet it would be easier. Great question!
@@TruFinancials Some of the videos recommended in the right margin included several horror stories. In some cases phone numbers had transposed digits or phone numbers which stolen from the legitimate account owner and then applied someone else's. I suppose this is the price we pay for convenience these days. At least in the old days one could put a stop payment on a check.
It's unfortunate that there are people out their doing things like that. I think a normal good person would send money back if it was sent to them by accident. I know I would.

Nope. It will automatically get deposited into your account without needing to confirm anything to receive it.

You can usually enter any number. Some banks will require that number to be added to your account information first.

Usually within a minute or two you'll have the transfer complete. If it's a large dollar amount it can take longer.

What's the problem with Zelle App? It shows an A101 error when trying to login.

Hey Robert. I'm not familiar with NetSpend myself so I couldn't give a clear answer. But if Zelle is available on both platforms then you can send money to yourself, you'd just need two email addresses. One for each account.
Prepaid card is ineligible to use the service. 😊

@Sadi Laureta - as the user Honey Lewiz mentioned in their comment. When setting up a Zelle account it will prompt you to add your bank where the money will transfer into.

With most banks you can click on "search" and type in Zelle to see all transfers that you completed and received. Every bank is slightly different in on Zelle works.

Can you use Zelle as an online payment gateway?
Maybe not in the traditional sense with a checkout system. I believe technically Zelle is suppose to be a friends and family money transfer service and not for businesses.

Hey Daniel, sorry I missed your comment. RUclips doesn't make it easy to catch up to comments from older videos. Hopefully, you got it figured out. My banks set it up all different with Zelle. For instance, I can easily unlink an email or phone number from Zelle on my Capital One app by going to the setting in the app and go to the Zelle setting. But the website doesn't make it easy to do it.

TruFinancials What I’m saying is that I had a bank linked to zelle but I deleted the account and now I have a new account with another bank that I want to link to zelle.
Tried Zelle for the first time and it absolutely sucks. The person receiving the money from the same bank could not get it. It says its out of our account but says the other person cannot claim it, and they have tried. Cancelling the Zelle transfer and doing it via check deposit which is a pain.
Did the person who was receiving it have a Zelle account with that same bank? They can still make the Zelle account to associate with their bank and have the money deposited. Sorry to hear that your first experience hasn't gone soomthly. It's honestly a great process to transfer to friends and family.

Thank you for this nice informative video; I just subscribed to your videos. This video was 10:30 min long, but you repeated yourself so many times that you wasted about 5 minutes. Overall, i learned about Zelle; thanks for that.
I usually can't win with video length. If I make it 3 minutes and don't repeat myself, people will ask questions I answered in the comments. If I make it longer I get people mad because of time. :)
I don’t understand. Why do you send money to people? Is it for example purchases like from a private sale? ♥️Jessie for example I use PayPal to pay for some personal goods like craft supplies. I send it thru friends and family but still get a fee
Many different reasons to send money. If you split a meal, want to gift it, or even paying back a personal loan. PayPal wouldn't be charging you a fee if you or the other person are sending it under friends and family. You might want to call PayPal at that point.

Well, we downloaded the app on our phones and we enrolled but when we try to send money it tells us "unable to send due to your financial institute not using our service"...disappointing.
That is disappointing that your bank doesn't offer it. You still, however, can receive money from others using the service.
@@TruFinancials one party MUST use a financial institute that offers Zelle in order to receive. The party with the NON participating bank/credit union can receive funds from them.
That's why it would still be good to hold onto the app just in case someone need to pay you through Zelle. There are a few other apps that allow you to send money to someone quickly once you have your bank put in. (Takes a business day or two to pull out of your own account) but instant for them. They are called Venmo and Cash App. I made a video about the Cash App a few months ago.

Yes, it's completely free. It's backed up by the major banks and you can sign up directly from your bank if they support it.

You can't transfer thru Zelle to PayPal. Unfortunately PayPal wouldn't allow it.
Most people send money over seas so if is to use in the USA only then is not much use for most people. Or f you know any other alternatives to send money over seas let me know cause western union and money gram are complicated and expensive. Thank you

Have you tried using an email address instead? Depending on your bank, you might need that phone number on file under your account settings prior to having it on Zelle.

I don't believe it's available outside the U.S. from what I originally thought.
How much can you send a day?
Really good question. So if you are sending money to a person for the first time you are limited to $500 per day/$4,000 max in a month. After things have been verified and all is good you have a limit per day of $2,500/ $20,000 max a month. Hope that helps :)

I'm not sure about a debit card. But from bank account to bank account it takes usually just a few minutes. Make sure the person who sent you the money put in the correct information.
