Oman is a beautiful country And they try hard to preserve their traditions and long history and that's why i love oman Reall rich culture and beautiful nation
This is a great video, despite it being a short one. Your visit to the wadi reminded me of the Oman I became familiar with, especially when you were in the wadi pool. I wonder if you realized there are water snakes which swim in those pools, although I can never remember anyone being bitten by them. But, like many young people most of us used to leave the water like Olympic swimmers the minute someone shouted "snake"🤣. The fort was interesting, too. When I was trekking around the mountain area, there were ruins of Portuguese wooden forts. The Portuguese were there (1507-1650) and later the Ottomans, though history tells us that both did not entirely rule the Oman Empire. It is a good job the goat breeds well at it is a staple meat diet in so many countries around the world and, maybe too, for the old caravans of the trading routes. It was interesting, too, that the Oman had colonized the Island of Zanzibar, situated off the coast of Tanzania. It has a rich trading history between the East African and Arab countries. When I was there the donkey was a very popular means of transport in the mountainous areas for carrying loads, or people. I can clearly remember seeing lone women with their child, often mounted on a donkey (presumably) travelling from one village to another. Other times I saw women was when we visited mountain villages and were invited by a village elder to drink coffee - the lady of the house would make it and also offer dates on a copper tray. It was a humbling experience as it was obvious they were living off the subsistence of the land in stark conditions compared to our modern moods and cons of today. In the late 1960s there was unrest in the Oman, as there was in other countries along Arabian Peninsular coastline.
I have been to this city Nizwa in 2019 with my friend Marwa. Don’t know there is another Chinese have been to this city. That remind me of the old days, also miss marwa.
Yan, thank you for sharing on Oman. It is such a beautiful country with so rich culture. I enjoyed the sceneries and the soud experience. Your videos are so enriching and you should continue with a next longest trip after sharing beautiful China.
How I love dates! If I visited there I would be at the date shop every day to buy different ones. Near Yuma, Arizona, USA it is possible to enjoy date milkshakes. Dipping dates in tahini sauce sounds delicious1
I love the hospitality in the various countries. So interesting to try the different foods and drinks. By the way there are many mistakes in the subtitles, sometimes two sets of subtitles come up at the same time, one in front of the other and the one in front has many errors. Again, another beautiful video.
They seems to be tolerant with tourists. I tought the men would give you a weird look at the market because you're a woman. Maybe woman aren't allowed to be there?🤔 But they realized you were not from there so maybe that's why they let you be there? I saw some other tourists as well in the begginning.
There are a lot of tourists in Nizwa so it is not surprising that she is there. But for Omani women it would be very uncomfortable to be in the middle of that crowd of men as the market is very crowded in the morning especially on Fridays. But that does not mean that they never go out, there are women who sell some traditional food and incense and some of them work as tour guides too.

Glorious chinese
Hi Yan, I’m curious as to why you did not negotiate better price for market goods, as one would in China. Is bargaining not appropriate in Oman?
no, you can bargain but goods that are imported are expensive , so in the end you can drop like 1 percent of the price
I never would've thought to even look this place up! (I live in the USA) But I need to ask, where is all the women??? :)
thats also what I am asking, I see women in oman but didn’t see any of them in this market.
But women love to shop!! 😂😂😂 It’s not fair! 😂
Women don't really like to go in the morning and leave these chorus to men, they are more active in malls and during evening period
