The powder on Hugh's face was on point for a pale, pasty, and squeamish coward. And Stephen Fry makes the most convincing, suave and debonair, yet menacing villain ever in comedy.
@@Wigwamwish haha, yes! Well spotted my friend. I know that the word knack begins with a k, and can only attribute such a heinous mistake on my tiny phone keyboard or predictive text settings, as this was a new phone at the time. Still, at least you were here to point out my egregious typing/autocorrect error, 5 months after I pressed 'send'. Phew! 'Pedantic cock-face'. Did i get that one right?

Do you have part 2 (full restaurant scene)? Can’t seem to find it on RUclips, but that scene was also masterfully done: the various levels from the idiot on a double date, the French singer translating to English with mixed results, the politician meeting a waiter “fan”, and, of course, the tense undercurrent of Freddy and his raging inner war. Would love it if you can upload, OP! Best
They are the same character they just changed the name. It's a reference to Freddie and the Dreamers, one time on The Ed Sullivan Show Freddie referred to a friend of his called Neddy.

In the later sketches Jack got an eye patch which only made him more sinister...
For someone so seemingly nice, Stephen Fry has a real nack for playing intimidating/sinister characters. Terrifying lol.

@Devraj Dutt I was only joking m8. I didn't mean to come across as an actual dick. Just a light hearted pretend one. 😅
You absolute rotter

Laurie was born to play fops, twits and upper crust dolts.
. . .probably because he is one. He is privately educated after all.
This is such a good impression of Terry Thomas by Hugh Laurie! Absolutely spot on, old boy. Right down to the gap in his front teeth. Crikey!!
Brilliantly hilarious acting from Hugh.
Agree
Hugh in this one is beyond amazing. A real Gollum.
Never seen Jack and Freddy before. Thank you for posting.
I really like this running story wish they'd have some a couple more series sketches
Hugh is fantastically slimy here.
It’s like that bit from dr. Strange Love or How I Learned To Stop Worrying And Love The Bomb.
"You're a decent sort of chap."
Am…I….one of 'us'….?
Peter Sellers in Dr. Strangelove ?
Yes, even down to the lead character's name being Jack.
Also a dash of Terry-Thomas, I think
@@NGS712 definitely a mix with TT in it.

I had part 2 available, but RUclips deleted it for copyright infringement. Don't know how they can delete one and not the other.
@@Twodawgzz God work in mysterious ways, and RUclips in even mysteriouserrr ways😁
@ Watabou H- I was wondering the same thing. If Freddy and Neddy were twins.

I think Hugh is impersonating Captain Mandrake from dr.strangelove
Yes, sure.
"The Cause…."
Very good comic acting.
No bombs thanks (I know that's not the point)
The way he says "yeass"...
Dominic invites Boris for a little chat...
That guy is just wasting cigarettes!
Thank you very much! ;)
Laurie seems like am smeagle here
