Ivar seems to be the character that you either love or hate. I find him a refreshing change from both the tired Wagnerian stereotypes of the Norse and the saccharine stereotypes of disabled people that are so common in popular culture, and I really rather admire Alex Hogh Andersen's acting skills, because there's very few actors who can pull off a character this intense at the age of twenty-four. I hope he has a long, varied and illustrious career ahead of him!
I can't believe how many RUclips comp videos there are of him now, everyone loves him, it's great.

Speaking from experience, I agree....but overcoming anger and pain through self discipline gives you a strong will, and learning to think objectively gives you wisdom which together can help you gain power.

Hvitserk is a problematic character because they haven't really defined him as much more than Ivar's slightly dopey sidekick, but he may develop more in 5B. For all we know, HE might be the one who ends up marrying the princess that everyone thought was supposed to marry Bjorn (I liked Snafrid, but I think she was a red herring because the Saami are a tribal society led by elders rather than a monarchy, and as such don't really have princesses) Hvitserk is in much the same situation as his uncle Rollo was, and if he steps out of his baby brother's shadow and gains a kingdom through a good political marriage, good for him!
