I think this is such a respectable decision! I will miss the family vlogs, but I imagine that when they're older the girls will be so grateful that you gave them this privacy and that you're letting them have a "normal" childhood.

Can't lie, I've been watching for years and am sad to see the vlogs go! I am only 25 and not a parent, but am a nanny, and this channel has been a huge source of inspiration in my life. Thank you for bringing us Montessori content and showing the pay offs of your families dedication to it with videos showing how smart, well adjusted, and curious Mia and Kylie are! That said, completely respect and understand your privacy, I would absolutely do the same thing. I've been around for years and will continue to be!!

I came across your channel when I was searching how to teach a baby drinking water out of an open cup. And then I started following you and learned about Montessori. Your videos have guided me so much on raising my now 3 year old(we started watching your video when she was 7 months). When she turned 2 we watch your videos together every tuesday and thursday. When I found out we have something in common I was so excited (Taiwan, Colorado, and I used to live near where you live so the target, ikea, costco, homedepot and library you go to brought back a lot of memories ). All in all, I 100% respect your decision and support your decision to do what is best for the girls.
We will miss your family vlogs!
Oh and I even name one of my twins Mia😆
All the best to your family!

I will continue to partake of your Montessori offerings and buy what I can as gifts from Mike. I'll miss the girls, but they have a right to their privacy, especially the closer to formal school they get. Thanks for sharing all you did, including the travelogues.

Oh wow! I thought that this day might come, but it's still so sad! I love your family blogs, they've helped me through a lot of difficult moments, and seeing Kylie and Mia grow up on here and how you interact with them has brought me so much hope.. Like actually believing that I could have a happy family life one day!
So yes, I am very attached to you/them/the vlogs, but I also want the girls to be safe and free as kids, and I believe you are doing the right thing for them. Bravo to you, this decision must not have been easy at all!!

Thank you for so generously sharing the family vlogs. I understand and respect your decision to protect your family’s privacy. Kylie and Mia have brought incredible joy to our home. We adopted our daughter and shortly after she came into our home COVID was here. This created an incredibly isolating parenting experience raising an only child. Your vlogs were such an encouragement to me. Our daughter absolutely adored virtually entering the childhood adventures of your girls. We look forward to having you here to support our Montessori home. You’re amazing - heartfelt thanks for all you do!

I am really sad to hear this but it completely makes sense. I hope you and your family continue to spend quality time together and that you can be more present and relaxed with them, not thinking about capturing the moment for the vlog.🤗 I enjoyed watching your family vlogs immensely because I was able to see what all the Montessori principles look like when put into practice. I’m so happy to hear this! While I loved seeing some of the little glimpses of Mia and Kylie being absolutely adorable, I feel like the internet has become a lot scarier. You are protecting your family and allowing your girls to have even more autonomy by giving them the choice to put themselves on the internet when they are old enough to make that choice.
One suggestion, if you and Mike are up for it, you could keep going with the “What’s Hapaning” ending clips. I always loved getting some good little tidbits of info or just your opinion on things that don’t need a whole video. Or do a monthly “What’s Hapaning” video answering a bunch of peoples real and hypothetical questions.❤️

I am SO proud of you both for making this decision. I fell in love with your channel for Montessori content - I actually didn't realize you vlogged for so long beforehand - and have always favored that over vlogs, personally. As an early childhood educator I am very critical of "family content" online because I have been trained to understand the scary side of having a digital footprint at an early age. Your decision to focus on Montessori is so respectful of Kylie and Mia and I know they will be so grateful as they get older. You are wonderful, hardworking parents and it is so refreshing to see a family explicitly take action to prioritize safety, privacy, and normalcy over social media moolah. Can't wait to see what you do next!
P.S. Are the videos in your "Montessori Activities for Ages ____" series going to stay public? I think they are truly some of your best and most comprehensive (I rewatch all the time!), but they obviously have footage of the girls so I understand if you decide to remove them.

Honestly I'm proud of ya'll's decision. It makes me feel ick when I watch other family vloggers and seeing their young kids constantly "perform" for the camera and this idea that they have to make these videos constantly so the family can have this lavish lifestyle. I don’t even post my kid’s face on private Instagram, so it feels hypocritical to watch a family vlog sometimes, in a way.
It’s been a joy to see your girls growing - like a glimpse into what my kiddo may be like when she’s a bit older, so thanks for sharing. I think I started watching early in the pandemic when I was home with my newborn, so it’s been quite the ride!

I think the part I'll miss from the vlogs is just seeing your setup and drawing that inspiration. Maybe you could make some occasional videos of the playroom or kitchen, without the girls in them, talking about how your current setup is working.
Maybe Mike could make a video on your channel now and then from his perspective, maybe about being a Dad, or about his business!
It would also be cool to have you both do longer Q&A videos like your what's happening session.

Literally Huda said 'ami phone prida(ami leave the phone)' so many times and took it from my hands placed it on the table, just whilst video calling her dad or if i want to record soemthing to show him. She's really aware of it and i feel guilty either way that he missed the moments so i just started to write down what she did instead and hope that would be enough for him to see a picture and hera the story. Its so stressful balancing this but Huda's development and sense of self and her connection with me and her concentration comes first.

I respect your decision and appreciate your concern for the girls, but please don't take down the family vlogs too soon after this update, atleast give us time to watch them once more, or atleast catch up on some which we missed, other than that I fully support your decision, love to Mia and Kylie. ❤️❤️❤️

While I’ll never forget what I’ve learned, I’ll be sad not to have these videos as a reference anymore. 😭 you’re such amazing parents and my future children are already blessed by your example to me. You’ve given me a picture of what motherhood can look like and there’s no small thing.

I'm actually really sad, but I respect your choices.
My husband and I had started watching this channel since I was 10 weeks pregnant with my daughter. Then in March when my daughter got diagnosed with AML leukemia, we took a pause with the Montessori videos and Montessori Parents community because the practice just wasn't practical in the hospital setting. Also I wasn't mentally in place because my daughter's development was regressing due to the leukemia and chemotherapy treatment.
Anyway, sorry for rambling but we really enjoyed your vlogs, and thank you for sharing and allowing us to escape the hospital life for the 15-20 mins each week. Thank you.

I get it but I am so sad. This feels exactly like losing a close friend. I might come across as exaggerated but it’s as if a close friend has died suddenly without getting the chance to say goodbye. I have been watching you for the last over three years now. I cried and laughed with you. I cried at Mia’s birth video, when Kylie met Mia for the first time. I felt this was coming because the vlogs had not been as detailed and thorough in the last year or so. Honestly, I’m gutted. I am crying now. My son who is 3 years and 7 months old has been watching the vlogs with me for the last year or so and is so excited to see Mia and Kylie every week. Your vlogs have been the only screen time for him. He asked to have a chest of drawers like Kylie’s so he can put his clothes like she does. It’s a shock for me. It will take me a while to process this and accept its not something I can control. I do get it as I don’t post my son online but I feel a huge loss. I do hope that you will update us from time to time. Starting school and the odd photo. You as a family will be deeply missed.

I never comment on anything but I am so sad, your vlogs were everything to me, I learned so much , and you gave me so much ideas for my two kids. I always watched the vlogs where Mia was the same age as my son and I don’t watch anything else. So so sad. Your kids are very cute, and well behaved. I am sure they are going to grow up to be amazing women. Hope the best for you and your family. 😘

Hi Ashleigh - I’ve never commented before, but would just like to say a huge thank you for the hard work of the last 4 years. As a mum of 2 kids 2 and under you showed me how to find the joy in motherhood, and what a peaceful and sweet home looked like that I aspired to and would watch your vlogs when I was feeling the most down about when motherhood was the most hard thing I’ve ever done. These vlogs brought me and my 2 year old so much joy to see Kylie and Mia living a full and beautiful life. I will miss the vlogs sorely. I completely understand and agree with you, but doesn’t make it easy. My daughter Amelia would always ask if she could play with Kylie and Mia - so sweet :) thank you so much. They made an impact on my life - I got so much hope and encouragement that I could have a sweet time of motherhood too.

Hi Ashley, I started watching your channel for the Montessori at home videos, I think you were pregnant with Mia at the time, or she was a newborn. I then slowly started watching your vlogs every week. Then, as I found out more about family vlogging over the past few months, I decided to stop watching your family vlogs, even though you were a lot more respectful towards the girls than some other RUclipsrs. They were my favourite videos of yours to watch, but I decided to stop watching. I admired that you had more boundaries for your girls than other RUclipsrs (didn't film their meltdowns, only filmed once a week as opposed to daily), but I still felt like while they clearly enjoyed the videos, it is a bit hard to fully understand the full impact, especially the sheer number of people watching them. I really like your what's hapaning section, and I hope this will stay, alongside maybe sometimes vlogs focusing on you, as opposed to the girls. Anyway I am very happy about the decision you have made, and I am looking forward to watching everything you post again! I hope this doesn't come out as judgemental, I really admire the decisions you have made so far.

much as i have loved watching your girls grow up, i agree with you that it's hard to justify family vlogs. children can't comprehend or consent to their lives being shared online for potentially millions to watch, and i would hate for any child to get older and resent their parents for sharing so much. it's actually been something that i've considered asking you about, as family vlogging seems fairly difficult to justify within a montessori framework. so, while i will (selfishly) miss seeing your family on my feed every week, i do think it'll be the best thing for your girls. please don't feel that you're letting anyone down; none of us have a right to demand to see your personal life, and your montessori at home content is really what i'm mainly here for!
