    I’m hoping to purchase and pick up my new to me, WeldanPower tomorrow. Hopefully I can bring it back to life as you did yours. Thank you for these videos 🙏

      You're welcome! Good luck with your purchase, they're definitely stout machines. I've been more than happy with both of my machines.

      @@WesleyJohnsonMI, well I picked it up and got it home. When I pulled the hood off, I discovered it also came with a three foot rat snake 👍. Engine was free, I pulled plugs and replaced, drained oil, changed filter, ordered new ignition components since I had no spark. I’m excited and equally concerned of the next chapter.
      I also noticed the selection switches for amps and AC/DC are very hard to turn without pushing spring from inside (backside) behind face plate panel. Is there a lubricant I could apply. I’m definitely not using that method when it’s up and running LOL.
      Thanks again 🙏

      @@jasonkeith674 I would advise against using any kind of lubricant on those switches. I don't think that the porcelain & electrical connections would appreciate it. I would at least take a wire wheel on a power drill & clean the brass contactors. Maybe even go so far as tearing the switches apart & cleaning the corrosion out of them.

    Thats crazy Wesley! 😲 I didn't even know that could happen! I'm glad you got it figured out though 🙂👍🔧

      I've always heard about it, but never experienced it. It was frustrating to say the least! I'm just glad it was an easy repair.

    What a cool repair! I’ve never heard of that before. That’s another level of science that’s WAY above my head🤣!

    That’s a 300 IQ quick fix, but the real issue here is your field flashing circuit isn’t working right. Probably hasn’t for a while and you got away with it because the rotor was inherently magnetic enough to self flash. The flashing circuit sends power to the + brush of the rotor from the engine generator through an 8 amp fuse and a diode. It’s in the manual for the machine which is online and free. Easy and cheap to fix too. I love these machines and have fixed quite a few of them now. All the variations Lincoln made seem to be good machines other than the slip-ring issue they are prone to.

      This has been an intermittent issue for the 18 years that I have owned and used this machine. It's never really bothered me, so I just deal with it. Thanks for the info though!

    I seen it done with an angle grinder a few times never a drill, until today

    I had to do that to an older generator that had been sitting for awhile back feed 110 into it and it worked again. the newer style gens don't like that....

      Well, this was a first for me. Never had an issue with this machine not producing power. Haven't really messed with gen sets before, so thanks for the info!

    Hi, it's bad that your videos don't have subtitles.

    • @WesleyJohnsonMI
      @WesleyJohnsonMI  3 года назад +2

      Subtitles have been enabled since I started the channel. You may need to click on the CC button or the button that looks like a gear to enable them on your end. If that doesn't work, let me know. I'll dig into it further.

      @@WesleyJohnsonMI Thank you for answering, I understand what the problem is, in some of your videos there is a subtitle button, and in others for some reason not.

      @@IVAN159Kama3 hhmm, interesting. I'll take a look at it when I get some time. I made sure that the closed captions/subtitles were turned on. I have several hearing impaired friends that watch my channel. Do you by chance recall which video(s) didn't have them on? It'll make it easier for me to narrow down the problem. Thanks for the heads up & watching!

    Does it make any difference which terminal of the 120 volt plug that you put the battery positive and the battery negative on, or does it work with either polarity? Just wondering if the wrong polarity would maybe damage the bridge rectifier or such?

    • @WesleyJohnsonMI
      @WesleyJohnsonMI  2 года назад +1

      As far as I know, no it doesn't matter. I just touched the jumpers to the hot & neutral. A replacement bridge rectifier for this particular machine is only a couple of dollars, I just replaced one in my other machine. It was a non functioning machine when I bought it, so it was nothing that I did to it.
