@The Bearded Stud I'll be honest with youz the razer will be there or there abouts with the weight, I'm actually using the HTX a lot these days, and find the weight and combo with the Razer Atlas to be ideal.
Very good in depth review, thank you! I have the m2k and skypad 3.0 and the only thing that really gets to me is the cable. This might be the mouse/mousepad combo I want to look into. As even with a bungee, the mouse seems to want to move on its own when turned due to the low weight/lack of friction. Thanks again! ps. Im the one from the whispering video

Nice review I agree with pretty much all of what you have said, as for the mouse weight theory I also agree I have used the hsk plus, the hsk pro, my old viper mini and a pulsar x2. And I agree with the lighter mouse feels more controllabale part.
@bsi the normal skates have a larger surface area so more friction. The dot skates provide less friction and more effortless glide. If you find the glide is too fast then grab a larger skate to add some more control to you HSK
I went from a Hein to a Skypad 3.0 when the Kickstarter happened about a year ago. I really love the way the Skypad gives me instant flicks but there was a large transition period for me where I was over flicking everything for about a month and needed to lower my sens a few times with my PMM mouse. I love the feeling in arcade shooters but recently I've been on a valorant binge and am wanting to try something with slightly more friction. I'm thinking about giving the Cerapad Kin a try as I've heard its the best control option for glass pads. I don't think i'll ever go back to a soft pad though. Like you said any cloth pad feels like I'm dragging my mouse through mud.
So interesting to hear your perspective. You may also want to try a Razer Atlas, my review or 1st impressions of that pad will hopefully be live by the end of this week (it arrived early). Thanks for stopping by🫡
Excellent review and very well articulated 🔥 Similar experience with the Orochi v2 I ended up selling mine. Looking forward to the Atlas review. I’d recommend trying out the Lamzu Energon or Vancer Ice v2 with the end of your video
Nice review! Very in-depth. I feel like I have to disagree with you saying that the pad is "high maintenance", though. I've been using the Skypad 2.0 for about a year and 2 months and it has been by far the least maintenance pad I have ever used. The scratchiness of the pad either goes away or you get used to it as well, I am unsure. I have spilt Pepsi on the pad 2 times and all it took was a couple wipes with paper towels and it was clean. Edit: I now see that you mention that it's less maintenance compared to other pads. 👍
Hey Rain 🌧 thanks for the feedback 😊 yes I think I covered it off as "little and often" in terms of maintenance, which I actually prefer to cloth pad maintenance. My Razer Atlas review comes out tomorrow, you may enjoy that one too as I compare it to the Skypad 🫡

Great review, really liked your delivery. I have one of these and put it back in the box after a couple of days and went back to my cloth pad. My sensitivity is bout the same as yours at 30cm. Would you advise dropping this to 40+ at the start? Liked and subscribed
Hey Simon, thanls for the kind words 🫡 since this video i have raised my sensitivity to around 42cm (in Apex its 0.6 @1600 dpi). I find a slightly slower sens works for me in terms of consistency. If you struggle with the 3.0 speed, you could either try lowering your sens, or pick up some slower mouse feet, the obsidian pros are quite slow by comparison to most other hardened mouse feet. I have a video talking through these ruclips.net/video/6QJGknWRknU/видео.html and also a video going through different mouse pad options ruclips.net/video/SJi5crkwuW0/видео.html
Thanks LogPile. I have a Logitech Superlight with the original PTFE feet. My cloth pad is a fnatic dash desktop size and you are quite right when you say that reverting back to the cloth pad feels muddy. I think I will try my 30cm sens and play around with my voltaic scenarios in Kovaaks for a while and make a judgment from there. Maybe I can beat some of my high scores and finally get to Diamond Complete. It’s only taken me a year. 😂 I will check out some of your other videos over the coming days.

regarding more control on a hardpad, you might want to check out the cerapad kin. Don't have it myself but I've read it's much more controlled than the slippery glass pad
I have heard a lot about the cerapad kin, but I thought it had a coating that chips off easily, which instantly stomped my interest - which is a real shame. The Razer Atlas feels great so far, and has slightly more control than the Skypad, which is all I wanted 🫡 review will be live by the end of the weekend 🤙
Still waiting for my Skypad, re: value for money - I would say it's probably not worth buying at full price but on sale it definitely makes sense for someone like me that uses the same peripherals for a long time until they wear out. I've been curious about these since the first version but I was still happy with my zowie GTFX (which I loved), now that it's wearing out in the middle and cleaning it isn't bringing back that like-new feel the idea of paying 60-70eur for a pad that just won't noticeably wear seems like the perfect replacement
I think the days of buyi g glass pads for over 100$ is coming to an end. The majority of pads released in 2023 were 50-70$ and i think SkyPAD had to change their prices to remain competitive, whoch is great if you ask me 😁 I hope you enjoy the SkyPAD when it arrives. You may want to consider picking up some SkyPAD Obsidian Pro dots if you struggle with the speed and 'wriggliness' of it
Great that you're enjoying yohr current pad :) its not necessarily better than cloth, its just very different and it works well for me 😁 Take care friend (keep an eye out for the winner!!)
@@Log_Pile it is incredible, really great to use a pad that stay consistent. I was struggling with stopping power playing tac fps and static, but I'm getting better over time. The only thing I don't like is that I sweat too much and it gets slower if I don't clean it.
I just bought a pad for my self today, currently im using super glide mouse skates with the fnatic jett which is a fast pad so I wonder how my experience on the skypad will be
Hey Newbro, just be sure not to use glass skates on a glass pad, they're not compatible. I also havent used the Fnatic Jet, but I think you'll lile the skypad 🫡 keep me posted bro
Are you using the dot skates or the full-sized ones on the HSK Pro? Which do you prefer? I try the 4 corners feet type on the Ninjutso Sora. It's fast which is what I like but the vertical movement speed feels different from the horizontal one so it makes the experience and my aim feels kinda inconsistent.
@gia khang Truong That's a difficult one to answer, because i haven't used them on other mice. I dont ever see other reviewers using the dot skates on their bigger mice - whoch indicates that it wouldnt be optimal(?), but I'm interested now! Maybe you could put a Q on the mouse review subreddit? I'm certain you'd get a number of responses from like minded enthusiasts
Do you think you got more used to Skypad as the oil on your skin was introduced to its surface and kinda lubricated it? A few days into my Skypad, it still sticks way too much to my skin and any fast movement basically catches a part of my thumb or pinky skin into the underside of my mouse.
Hey Xerendity, I only used the Skypad once for gaming without a sleeve. I've used a sleeve since that first day - unless I've been using it for internet browsing or work, etc. Did you see the section about sleeves?
@@Log_Pile Yes but your fingers and palm are not covered by the sleeve hence I found this still relevant. I have seen some pics of skypads used a while by players with arm sleeves and the middle is still shinier.
@Xerendity Apex Legends Sorry Xerendity, I understand your point now. The way I wear my sleeve, my palm isn't in contact with the pad. The only skin contact points are my fingers as described in my grip section. maybe I pull my sleeve slightly hogher than you do? I know that pulling the sleeve up this high impacts mouse grip somewhat , because the bit of the sleeve on your palm goes into the back of the mouse if you arent careful, but you can get around this with some tinkering and i dont have this problem with the mouse i use. Did that help at all?
@@Log_Pile Yes. Unfortunately I agree that pulling the sleeve up impacts the grip and not in a way that fits me. I'm thinking about putting some sort of oil on the pad and hoping that it doesnt damage it or impact the mouse sensor sensitivity. I will do more research on this, thank you.
@Xerendity Apex Legends honestly I wouldnt put any oil on the pad i can't imagine that working well at all and would maybe just make the pad even more difficult to use. Have you considered one of the skypad sleeves? i think they have versions that cover your hands entirely? this could work for you?
The only issue i have with this pad is that its so darn large. I don't usually rest my arm on mousepads, i place the mousepad just infront of my wrist with the mouse on the edge of the pad so a large pad isn't needed.
I think you can get a smaller version of the SkyPAD 3.0, this is the extra large version, theres on thats about 10 or so CM smaller in both directions.
Do you give any weight to the fact that when you buy a new pad, mouse or any other peripheral, you innately want to confirm/validate your purchase and decision making process that led to it? I say this not in a judgemental way but just curious as I see myself as someone who appreciates and tries to remove bias/emotion from my opinion of products I buy.. but inevitably it will always creep in to some extent. An example would be, you buy a new mouse, and you essentially focus more or try harder because you not only want to validate the investment but it has fundamentally changed something about your routine. You almost become in a day-dream while gaming and changes in your configuration of the game or peripherals can kind of make you focus up?
Hey Dotfrag, I can relate to this for sure. I try to give all the information possible in my reviews, both good and bad and hope that will allow my viewers and community to make some form of informed decision on the product for themselves. I typically buy products for a couple of reasons - either its cool or innovative and I want to see what it offers, or my current equipment is so bad I need a replacement. I'm actually relatively new to PC gaming, I played MMORPGs in my teens, and took about a 10 year break in gaming, when Covid pandemic hit i started playing on the Nintendo Switch, and then a year later (18-24 months ago) I switched to PC gaming. So genuinely, alot of my experiences I'm sharing on my channel are first time experiences with different products and product types - and I'm capturing all my observations because I think its valuable to others in a similar position. BUT i do accept your point about bias. I try very hard for this not to influence me too much in my content though. I hope that answers your question somewhat?
@@Log_Pile Oh absolutely, I was not trying to imply you were any more biased than anyone else by the way. Just that when we buy anything, we can skew data in favour of the thing we buy without even thinking. "It makes my life so much easier/better/faster!" I've had a few peripherals that in hindsight, I thought were THE endgame when I bought them and after the rose tinted glasses came off, I went back to what was tried and true! I'm having a bit of that I think with the ultralight phase, I have a HSK Pro 4k aswell and for all my quick flicks etc can sell the impression that it's 100% better, my consistency in other respects can go down. Sometimes a more grounded mouse with a larger footprint can make my crosshair placement and horizontal movements more consistent, albeit not as explosively accurate.
@dotfrag I think thats a fair observation, of how our perception of products change as we get past the honeymoon phase. I have stuck it out with the HSK Pro since it arrived, and while I know its not perfect (I have a script in draft to offer improvements for the next version) I still prefer the immersion I get from small form mice vs traditional shapes and sizes. I understand that I'm answering in a blinkered approach, and that maybe my view on hard pads will change over time, but I really like them 2 months in - and the most important thing to remember with all these products is it's like choosing colours, everyones colour preference will be slightly different - I think hard pads and light mice offer great immersion which is what i value at the moment. I am not sure if I'm answering fully, but i appreciate your comments its been very thought provoking.
I think I failed to answer 2 of your Qs. Q1. Wanting to confirm or validate purchases? A1. Yes I think this is true with everything in life 😅 in the context of gaming, I tend to be drawn to niche or specialist items that I knoe before I buy, are a huge risk. So I tend to just suck up the investment (I'm fortunate to be financially stable enough to do this) and take it for what it is when it arrives. While I do try to justify purchases in some cases, most of the time I tend to just play around with my curiosity and accept sometimes the purchase won't be a good one. Q2. Do changes to config make you focus up? A2. Yes in my experience it does, if I'm trying an entirely new product/experience I'll give myself enough time with the product to get through the change adjustment phase in order to pass a fair judgement. I hope I've answered everything, if not, fire back 🫡 I love the name btw, very cool.
yo log pile rn im getting a steel series qck large and I haven't tried it yet basically its a cloth mousepad I wanna get the sky pad 3.0 since its on a sale but idk if I should there is 300x350mm for 35$ and 400x450mm for 60$ which size do u recommend me to get and should I get a sleeve and which budget sleeve would u recommend
Hey mert! I personally would buy the bigger size, but if you play on a high sensitivity the smaller option would be fine! You will (in my opinion) NEED a sleeve, but you can repurpose an old sports top if you have one, I just cut the sleeves off an old lycra / thermal i no longer use and that worked great. You can pull them up over the flesh of your thumb and pinky too. I have a video on sleeves if you want to buy one 😁
the skypad problem will destroy your mouse feets in 1 month of use, skypad great mouse pad but it has this problem of destroying your mouse feets very fast

really fucking cool review/insights i'm thinking i might want to try a HSK "type" mouse, used to using a heavily modded G305 at 53grams but the fit isn't amazing guess i would just go glass feet on my pad then?
Hey Awemowe, I think glass feet on your existing pad is more accessible (because its more affordable) than buying a whole new glass mouse pad, but the experience is very different in my opnion. You may prefer glass mouse feet - its all so subjective!!

Hey Xerendity, I only used the Skypad once for gaming without a sleeve. I've used a sleeve since that first day - unless I've been using it for internet browsing or work, etc. Did you see the section about sleeves?
@@Log_Pile
Yes but your fingers and palm are not covered by the sleeve hence I found this still relevant.
@@Log_Pile
Yes.
I'll answer your actual question later 🤣 I just read it back and will give it another pass after dinner 😅
Hi, do you have the basic or XL version ?
@verlainelevy3284 the unit in this video was the xl, i always thought the regular size would be too small
yo log pile rn im getting a steel series qck large and I haven't tried it yet basically its a cloth mousepad I wanna get the sky pad 3.0 since its on a sale but idk if I should there is 300x350mm for 35$ and 400x450mm for 60$ which size do u recommend me to get and should I get a sleeve and which budget sleeve would u recommend
I have a video on sleeves if you want to buy one 😁
ruclips.net/video/AYAvRQ_WV_k/видео.html (the sleeves video - hope it helps)
tysm btw do u think 35$ is a good price for the 300x350mm glass 3.0 and also which is better steel series qck or glass mousepad
btw this may be allot of questions but are there any cheap sleeves on amazon?
@@mertbektas2971 LOADS mate, probably pick some up cheap as chips, it doesnt need to be a game sleeve
It's tempered glass. You'd have to drop it on concrete from a couple feet to damage it.
I have actually dropped it by mistake (carrying it on the box and it slipped out). Thing's solid as a rock 🤣
bro what sleeve do you use ?
Hey 👋 I just cut the sleeves off an old sports top and that has been fine for me 👍
@@Log_Pile Thanks bro this is great =)

this is the XL, so 50cm x 40cm
Who did your wall 😂 😂
Splendid review, have a nice day! 🪵
Thanks Count, I appreciate you watching the vid 🖖
skypad = light mouse is too nice
soo true man, I can't wait to see what the Razer Atlas has to offer in comparison
I just realised it was you that commented on the HSK Pro & Skypad video 😂 welcome back 🖖
the skypad problem will destroy your mouse feets in 1 month of use, skypad great mouse pad but it has this problem of destroying your mouse feets very fast
I havent noticed this yet personally, but I have seen it mentioned a few times. I am on the Atlas now, and been using hard pads for almost 2 months. Not had to change my feet yet 👏
Mt went ship after 2 days and now the pad feels like a artisan zero
your set up gives me a headache
🤣
it's a very bad mouse pad. just get pulsar or other brand
I don't agree, but thank you for sharing your opinion sir 🫡
really fucking cool review/insights
i'm thinking i might want to try a HSK "type" mouse, used to using a heavily modded G305 at 53grams but the fit isn't amazing
guess i would just go glass feet on my pad then?
Hey Awemowe, I think glass feet on your existing pad is more accessible (because its more affordable) than buying a whole new glass mouse pad, but the experience is very different in my opnion. You may prefer glass mouse feet - its all so subjective!!
