Soon this place will follow London. In London, they now avoid using the word "christmas" in their previously known "christmas markets". They are now called "winter markets". Also, they avoid saying "merry christmas", instead they say "happy holiday". They also avoid writing in their ad banners the word "Jesus" and "Christ". I don't know for what reason.

Norway has had immigration since the 60s. At that time, there were real refugees and labour immigration. They integrated themselves into Norwegian society and made good lives for themselves. Since Markel's decision in 2015, Norway has changed drastically and not for the good. Crime and other "fun" are skyrocketed, and you should take a walk in the city at night to show what it's really like, and why so many Norwegians have fled the bigger cities.

@@kish_myworld - You can call it a form of "mini-ghetto", once it was one of the cheapest places to get an apartment, rented or owned.
You will see the same at Tøyen, Furuset, Grorud, Stovner, Grünerløkka, Holmlia and a few other places within what we call "Stor-Oslo", (Big Oslo).
It is a result of several decades of problematic and partly unsuccessful immigration and integration policies, especially at the local level.
We (Norway) took in more refugees than we were able to integrate from the mid-1980s, which resulted in 'ghetto'-like conditions in some of Oslo's districts.
And when people do not feel integrated into society, they gather where they find others like themselves. But... it is not just the fault of the Norwegian state. There have been quite a few immigrants here who have not really wanted to integrate; they are here solely because of the extremely good social benefits. This is not the majority of immigrants to Norway, but unfortunately, it has become a noticeable proportion.

As Europeans colonized the entire world, it is only natural that people from these colonized regions would be interested in Europe itself. Afterall, most of them can barely make a living in their native countries, due, for the most part, to systems set up by the colonizers. People thus think they will have a better life in Europe. Most Norwegians can not pay the high rent in the city centre. I left my home Oslo 25 years ago and came back 11 years ago. The change has been brutal. We have some schools were there is not one single Norwegian child. i have friends who lived downtown and they had to move cuz the Muslin kids was bullying the Norwegian children. When i came back i saw 2 gay men walking holding hands on Grønland and they were attacked from Somali men who was screaming that they can not be gay there cuz it was haram and it was a Muslim country.

I live in a little town in Ostrobothnia Finland, we have taken in meny immigrants since the 80's to this small citys to keep the population up in this small citys, problem is that meny are Muslims and there is no moske around here, so everyone have moved to Helsinki. I had 3 brothers that went to my school they are all old now and have familys, but they all moved to Helsinki. Meanwhile our own population that is mostly Finnish Swedish speakers have declined. I belive one big reason is becus we took to meny immigrants we could afford, they do get some EU help/Goverment Help with funding, but the resources such as School/Hospitals is limited, and immigrants get priority in this places and the Native people are left behind.
One such place that is very limited is Psychologists, we have alot of people that do not feel well, especially now after Covid meny lost jobs/closed down bussniess/friends familys.
The suicide rate is very high especially amoung young people, and that is our next generation so... yeah idk what to say, it's not the immigrants fault, it's our goverment agenda that seems to be blatantly destroying the Nordic countrys.

It's a Friday in terrible weather, so you see a lot of people coming from the mosque, while Norwegians are mainly inside cooking dinner or on their way home from work.
Grønland is about 50% ethnic Norwegian, but apart from having the highest density of immigrants in the country, it also probably has the highest density of LGBT people (flags everywhere most of the year).
In general, it's probably the most diverse place in the country (although the majority of ethnic Norwegians in the area probably work in the public or NGO sectors).
Several nightclubs and a ridiculously high density of local pubs. And a ton of restaurants in most price categories.

Grønland has the highest density of first and second generation immigrants in Norway, but it's still only about 50%. The immigrant/ethnic Norwegian ratio seems higher than it really is, precisely because it's Friday right after prayer.
Norwegians who live in the area tend to live there precisely because they want a more mixed and exciting neighborhood. In addition to the Somali and middle eastern restaurants, I'm sure you also noticed that there's a ton of pubs and clubs in the area.

Are most people also inside where they can keep warmer? Of course they are! I also see that this area has the bus terminal. Travellers will be coming out of this area, so expect a mix. I also guess that people are adjusting to restrictions on their lives as well. It is an absolute shame. I look forward to the time when this planet will be free from stand-over merchants.

Us whities are here, but when we're not shopping in Gronland, we're mostly promenading on Karl Johan's gate some 500m away, or in Frognerparken. Come up here and say hello to us, most of us are not dangerous.

I guess Norwegians move out, or if it's a work day they are working! .Looks like the foreigners or immigrants are not working, and they may be living off the government. It surely looks like it's not integration, the integration politics has not worked as wanted in Norway. And regarding your title "Why are there no Norwegians in Norway? is a weird question. There are a lot of Norwegians in Norway, they just don't live in Grønland. They live all over the country. Just because you live in Norway don't make you Norwegian. Ethnic Norwegians, and Norwegian ancestry is different from Africa and Middleastern countries. Norway is a Christian country and Norwegians do have a different appearance with blond hair and blue eyes !!!! Some with green/brown eyes and darker hair. Norwegians are decendants from Vikings, and I believe they are proud of their heritage.

You are only walking around in the immigrant area of Oslo (Grønland/Tøyen mainly) - thats why. Go to other parts of Oslo to see a better balance/mix.
