      They can't until either the parents sign away their parental rights willingly or Tina starts the emancipation process which takes months and has to be dealt with in court for a judge to decide, and the judge will ultimately rule with whatever biases and opinions they have as an individual (which *does* affect court outcome). It may not be a viable option anyways as the parents don't want their grandchild growing up with homosexual parents let alone allowing their daughter to live with them or allowing the men to gain guardianship over her.

      Yes and no, they had a chance at a family. They could have offered to help both once they were kicked out. They don't care who the baby comes from they only want a womb wet baby meaning they won't care about the trauma or pain of an adopted child wanting and needed to know about their birth family or about the person who actually gave their child life, and kept them safe at the sacrifice of her own body for 9 months

    I know a gay couple who had that calling. They adopted children whom the parents had abandoned at birth. All of them, every one, had "difficulties" Too sick....the parents walked away, and they adopted....SEVEN of them. They wiped snotty noses, sat through dialysis, changed diapers and made sure everyone got fed, on the table, or through a feeding tube. Those kids were and are LOVED and HAPPY and getting all the care they need. So....what's different? What is different with love and care? I've seen their kids graduate, walking across that stage to get their diploma. I couldn't be more proud of them, and of their two dads.

    If a religion paints a no tolerance policy picture on anything that hurts no one, that religion is corrupt. My son is a conservative who had much influence from his very religious grandparents, so he is very hateful. Our daughter refused to go with them for a long time, we finally knew once the grandparents took ill, and she told us she was gay, and she didn't want them to hate her. Her brother had gotten slightly more understanding, but it crushes my daughter, my husband and I when he gets angry and throws such ugly slurs. We have told him he is his own man, he can be anything he wants to be, but under our roof... He is to abide by our rules. His sister still has issues because of him, and only her grandfather ever found out the truth before he died, I was grateful when they spoke the once over the phone he didn't bring it up. He just told her he loved her. Life should be filled with support and understanding. I am so heart broken that it is a rarity to find such, especially if it's family that fails you.

      @DiniBrum 10 дней назад +4

      Exactly !! This is the comment I was looking for. Like I understand that they wanted to be proud of who they were but ultimately was the pride really worth the cost that it came at? Like everyone’s getting mad at this girl’s parents for having their beliefs, but no one’s mad at the gay couple who was literally warned that this would happen and decided that their pride was more important than privacy and respecting the peace of the vulnerable teenager who was about to give birth to a baby that they wanted so badly?
      obviously that doesn’t justify what the parents did. I think they were wrong but at the end of the day, people are entitled to their beliefs, even if their beliefs don’t align with our own.
      The girl gave the couple the opportunity to respect her parents’s beliefs and give them the baby they wanted, but ultimately they decided that jeopardizing this girl’s living situation so they could be proud of who they are was obviously the better option.
      Also, I’m just gonna make the point part of being a parent is understanding the importance of sacrifice. Respectfully, I think they could’ve sacrificed their pride for the two minutes of meeting the parents of this girl and started the life that they wanted. Now I understand that to some people the idea of sacrificing their identity for even a second is hard for them to do. But I can just say that for myself that I wanted nothing more than to give birth to my daughter naturally, but unfortunately, the situation didn’t work out that way in that moment, I sacrificed my mental well-being for the safety of my child as any parent would do. So seeing these people who are so desperate to have a child we’re not really willing to make that sacrifice knowing good and well that this was going to be the end result as they were warned.
      I think that the parents still have a shitty take, but looking at this from outsider perspective. I also feel like the gay couple has some accountability that needs to be taken out their end. It’s important to be proud of who we are, but we shouldn’t allow our pride and who we are to interfere with the reality of the world that we live in.

    If I was Tina and I was given that choice, then I would tell my "parents" to make sure my bags are packed and ready to go by the time I'm out and back at the house.
    If someone forces you to make a choice between them and doing the right thing they disapprove of cuz its not what THEY want, that aint love and you get as far away as you can if you're able.

      @NobodySpesh-1 homophobia isn’t a thing because not liking homosexuality is normal because homosexuality is a sin

    My eldest child got adopted by a same sex couple and I’m happy that they love my child just as much as I do (as the birth mother) my child was more comfortable around men than he was around women so he fit perfect in the adoptive parents life. I don’t know how long it took for them to finally get my baby but I never once thought bad things towards my child’s parents, I even met them before the adoption was finalized and I loved them, my child and the parents were a perfect match.
