That's not how parenthood works, and it's not how adoptive parenthood works either. Parenthood isn't an "until it gets too hard to deal with" whim, it's a serious lifetime commitment. If they give up that little girl they should be required to provide enough money and insurance to maintain her life until adulthood. (Child support to the state). Tv show is called the Resident and this is season 4 episode 11. At Chastain, an ambulance comes in with a 7-year old girl named Sami comes in with severe abdominal pain, nausea, and vomiting. They weren’t going to bring her because of the tornado, but she collapsed and they didn’t know what to do, her doctor is Dr. Bell. Conrad listens to her heart and lungs when Randolph shows up. He tells Conrad that she has a history of abdominal cancer. Sami is in a room with her adoptive parents, all of a sudden blood starts to pour down one of her eyes. Jake and Randolph are there, after witnessing that and her results, they go see AJ and ask if he will help save her life, she has to be operated on right away. Sami is about to go into surgery, she is crying and tells Jake that she lost her parents to the virus and doesn’t want to be alone. Jake speaks her language and tells her that he promises not to leave her. She is in surgery, the clock is ticking. When AJ is asked if he is ok, he gets a little heated with his response and then apologizes. He is hurting, but he is not going to let that stop him from saving Sami. They took out her organs and need to get them back in, time is running out. AJ says he found something malignant in her stomach and they need to remove it. AJ, Randolph, and Jake meet with Sami’s adoptive parents and tell them that the recovery is going to be very difficult with constant follow-ups, it could take years. They will have to monitor her organs, and more surgeries could be required. Jake tells them that she made needs to be homeschooled for the next six months. The parents tell them that they have two other kids at home, they care for Sami, but they don’t know if they are the best people for her. Randolph says that he doesn’t understand, they say they are going to relinquish her. Jake is upset, he tells them they are all Sami knows in this country. Jake goes upstairs to see Sami, he sits by her bedside and watches her sleep. Later on Dr Wong and his husband adopt her and she survived.

When you adopt a child regardless of whether that child is healthier sick you have that child for 6 months and frankly if the child had been born to you would you have done the same thing knowing these parents they probably would they would have given it up for adoption or giving it up to CPS because they couldn't care for it and you know something because of America and the healthcare system there I can understand why they would do that because once the state takes the child the child is now taken care of financially as far as any medical issues that come up... But the fact is they adopted this child and now they're backing out because it isn't perfect.

Something similar happened to my first wife. She had a learning disability and a teenage pregnancy. They pulled some strings and did some kind of adoption so she was never able to find out where the baby went. They also threw in a tubal ligation....without any kind of consent of course. I never pushed her parents for answers since she never wanted to but those scars lasted a lifetime. Imagine feeling that the "shame" of an out of wedlock baby was more important than the welfare of your child. Wish I could go back and scream at her parents for her.

Speaking as a parent of a kid who has had an AVM in his brain, that's exactly how you treat an AVM. And im pretty damn sure it's NOT how you treat a tumor. Dafuq.

I have an AVM in my brain. 2 surgeries with radiation later and I'm just like anyone else. To those who might not know and maybe want to know, an AVM is basically an abnormal clump of blood vessels. I'm not 100% sure what that would do to a heart, but in my brain, it made it more likely to have a hemorrhage (brain bleed). The radiation basically cauterized the clump in my brain so that it wouldn't bleed. I'd imagine in the heart it might block blood flow or something similar.

imagine having a job where it is quite literally vastly important to inform your employer that you're pregnant for the safety of the child and then getting mad/upset that the environment is dangerous for the fetus.

This is why medications have LABELS that say to keep out of children's reach. My mom still kept it out my reach even when I was 11. I'm only allowed to use the ones she tells me to because I'm now a teenager. But back then, she'd still tell me not to touch it.

My eldest child got adopted by a same sex couple and I’m happy that they love my child just as much as I do (as the birth mother) my child was more comfortable around men than he was around women so he fit perfect in the adoptive parents life. I don’t know how long it took for them to finally get my baby but I never once thought bad things towards my child’s parents, I even met them before the adoption was finalized and I loved them, my child and the parents were a perfect match.
