    great video very helpful however the sensor on the rear of the manifold is the air intake temp sensor (IAT) NOT the mass air flow sensor.

    Allows the engine to breathe easier. With that you get better fuel economy. I haven't thrown it on a dyno, but I can tell you that between this and the K&N Cold Air Intake, the Jeep is much more throttle responsive, quicker on acceleration and has a slight increase in intake sound. Highly recommended if you upsize the tires.

    I just wanted to thank you for putting up this video. I've done minor fixes forever. Found you more out of necessity as I was told my throttle body needed to be replaced and was given a very expensive repair estimate. I watched your video several times and I did it! I bought my own tb and replaced it. Still have issues with it relearning. Will see what's up with the obd but Hubby was impressed. Love my Jeep and want to keep her going as long as I can. Wish I watched spark plug video before putting it back together tho. 😕😆

    @forzaitalia5910 In short, they make your engine breathe easier by allowing more air in.

    Excellent informative video
    Just ordered a new modified TB from Fastman.
    Pretty sure the install will be the same on my 2008 Jeep Commander Sport 3.7L.
    Looking to get a little more launching power. Hopefully this combined with my drop in K&N high flow filter will give me the little boost im looking for.

    I'm wondering about how to reprogram those. I understand they require that with a new unit placement. I have a cable controlled unit and am wondering if that applies if I'm just removing, cleaning, and reseating my original unit.

    Thanks. Going to replace mine. I keep getting a code indicating a IAC problem. However my late model 2007 3.7L uses a 2008 Throttle body just like in this video so there is no IAC valve. One last point the new Throttle body must be calibrated

    Where in the h e double hockey sticks is IAC located on this throttle body? I'm guessing under the cover on the left side but don't want to tear it apart and messy up my day in a big way.

    I noticed that you didn't change the gasket for the throttle body.
    Wouldn't it make sense to do that? In case there's something wrong with the old one.
    It's not hard to do and the new throttle body should come with a new one.

    @JonRoc Ah, nice! Feel free to post back on how your install went. My specific "TheFastMan" throttle body took about 3 weeks from order to delivery. Keep that in mind when trying to schedule installation.
    Dan, the owner, is an awesome guy - very friendly to deal with. Top notch customer service and his prices are reasonable. I would do business with him again.

    Would have liked to have known if there was an improvement in performance

    • @dungeonmotorsport
      @dungeonmotorsport  5 лет назад

      Butt dyno says yes. When paired with a cold air intake it has more top end breathing and requires less throttle input for normal driving. I also noticed about a 2mpg highway increase after installing that combo.

    What is the purpose of this new throttle body, does it allow it to suck in more air giving it better performance?
    Thanks

    hey I have the same Grand cherokee Laredo 2007. The accelerator pedal is hard to press... i mean i'm not enjoying the driving.. When I press on the pedal I don't feel that the car really does that instant jump... i don't know if u understand what i mean... i'm doing my best to express the situation... is it the same at all Grand cherokee 2007 v6 3.7L? Or if I clean the throttle body it will change?

    So, is the outside diameter of the Fastman throttle body the same as the OEM? I heard that you can do the same thing cheaper by grabbing a throttle body from a 4.7.

    I have the same type but an 07 and have been experiencing coldstarts that has the RPM jump to 1700 even when its 80 degrees outside, could this be a Throttle problem?? Horsepower is lagging as well. and when warm, car will not exceed 60mph, when i press on the gas, the rpm shoots from 2000 to 2300 easily and with no gain in speed. What are your thoughts??

  • @sunmanbb
    @sunmanbb 9 лет назад

    Have you gotten better fuel economy with this?

    • @dungeonmotorsport
      @dungeonmotorsport  9 лет назад +1

      Sunmanbb If I do it's pretty negligible. Most noticeable difference is less throttle input required. Feels like more torque at low end.

    This would be my next project i was wondering how did it feel after you installed it? im running the same K&N intake and a 40 series flowmaster muffler did you feel better throttle response ? how was it driving on the street? sorry for bugging haha

    • @dungeonmotorsport
      @dungeonmotorsport  10 лет назад +1

      The Jeep is much more throttle responsive, quicker on acceleration and has a slight increase in intake sound. Highly recommended if you upsize the tires. Driving on the street is fine.

    • @alexsolano2743
      @alexsolano2743 10 лет назад

      I deff uped my tire size so my wk sometimes is a little sluggish to switching gears or feels a little to heavy so deff looking forward to getting a better throttle response great diy though!

    • @dungeonmotorsport
      @dungeonmotorsport  10 лет назад +3

      In the meantime, feel free to disconnect your battery for about a half hour so it can relearn rpm shit points with your new tire size. You should notice a difference in about a hundred or so miles as it learns those uprated tires.
