Do we use dye or pigmented ink for the PG-245XL? Inktec sells both for Canon but the PG-245 is only mentioned in the "Use with these cartridges" list of the pigmented version, not in the same list of the dye version.
When I refurbish and refill canon, they start to work but next day lines appear. Commonly happens from my experience. How do you make the refill a reliable outcome so it continues to print clearly page after page? I remove sponge and cut a small piece of it glued up to cover the refill hole. So, Spongeless and sealed with, I assume, some air flow through the hole and sponged cover.
You will need an air pressure regulator if you removed the sponge. Otherwise the cartridge will work for a few pages then there will be too much pressure and ink will flow out of printhead. You will see ink smudging or blocked by excessive ink on the surface of the printhead.
Keep printing until you have the situation at 4:30 of this video: ruclips.net/video/AQnq0UjDz6o/видео.html Then follow the instruction in the video to turn off the ink tracker.
You can get a sponge kit from us: www.bchtechnologies.com/accessories/refill-tools/modification-kit-for-making-sponge-refillable-cartridge-with-canon-pg-240-pg-243-pg-245-cl-241-cl-244-cl-246-as-spg-cbc.html However, if you want to make your own, you need to find the finest sponge you can get. I am not sure where you can find them. They are specially made sponges that can tolerate many wet-dry cycles. Otherwise, it won't hold as much ink after few refills. You can experience on different ones, and let us know the result. It will be interesting.
The guy explains it well, but you could have filmed this a bit more professionally. It doesn't inspire confidence in your product if the promotional video is so low budget and filmed on a phone.
I like it showed anyone can do this even a homeschool mother like me. Products are great and actually work amazingly great. Love the "low budget filming ", was clear and easy to follow.

What grit of sandpaper do u suggest? 800 or 1000?
150 to 200
Can we reuse the original sponge from the cannon ink cartridge??
Cal we clean it out the sponge with isopropyl?
Yes,but the whole point is that the Canon sponge is too small. You will have to refill it frequently.
is it better to have sponge or no sponge?
Did you get the original colour??
Is there a difference between newer 245 cartridges and older 245 cartridges? Are the older ones easier to refill?
I can't tell if there is a difference. They looked the same to me. We refill many 245's bought from eBay and we don't see a difference.
