    I've studied Aaron Hernandez to some extent. What I found out scared me to the point where i'm afraid to play any contact sport where collisions, or any blow to the head, is a normal occurrence. Before Hernandez killed himself, he specifically asked for his brain to be donated for research, because he felt that he was not in control of 'himself' at times. What most people don't know is that the research that was carried out showed that he had a severe case of CTE (chronic traumatic encephalopathy). It is basically a brain disease that affects the frontal lobe of the brain which is responsible for important cognitive skills like thinking, judgement, behaviour etc . Some of the effects include depression, mood swings, lack of control, impulsive actions, anger, and even suicidal thoughts. The disease was so severe that they had not seen such severity in anyone under 46 years of age. Hernandez was only 27, a 19 year gap. It's sad for everyone involved, including all of his victims, his fiance, his child, and he himself too. I hope this series examines this aspect and not just paint him as a cold-blooded killer.

      Patricia Wolford no ones justifying the fact he killed innocent people. But he was ill mentally like it was really bad and it’s just unfortunate for some who was brought up in a poor home with an abusive father like Aaron. You have to also remember he looked up to his dad and was in the closet his whole life. So with his situation and the disease it just doesn’t have a sane ending if you know what I mean. Not justifying it but just sad you know?

The inmate made this claim AFTER Aaron died (couldn't refute the lie)... & had a lot of incentive to do so (say $5k on his books per interview). The childhood "friend" made his claim AFTER the inmate lied... & is currently being discredited by others that went to HS with him & Aaron. There was absolutely no evidence in his life (that they thoroughly combed through) of him being gay... just the lies of a broke inmate & a clout chaser. Even the offensive lineman that they interviewed said he deliberately made himself unattractive so it wouldn't look odd that he never had a girlfriend... Meanwhile Aaron is hooking up with women at school, in clubs, in strip clubs, & has a girlfriend & baby... THINK

Aaron was a misunderstood kid There's a lot of things that weren't right in Aaron's life He was raped at the age of 6 years old by a older boy in the neighborhood during a game of indoor hide & seek & it affected Aaron deeply plus Aaron was abused by Dennis His whole Childhood.

      I just finished watching this entire thing and although they danced around him being gay, for some reason they didn't put 2 and 2 together that (quite possibly) the reason why he killed Odin Lloyd is because they were secret lovers and he killed him over something that went down in their secret relationship? They were introduced to each other by their girlfriends, then they became "best friends" smoking weed in the basement day in and day out getting SUPER close. Its not a far leap to say they became lovers and then he killed him over something that went down in their relationship. This was super obvious to me.

      Kent Horvath people who comment often about criminals always think people like us who try to explain why think that we’re making excuses and that it’s okay, but in fact we just try to give understanding to the situation. They then try to combat that with, “Others have gone through trauma and they’re fine.” But in fact people cope differently and sometimes go down certain paths and sometimes those paths end with chaos and others end up with the opposite.

    • @tigerskob
      @tigerskob 4 года назад

      Kent Horvath there hasn’t been any mention of any diagnoses in anything I’ve researched with the case. However there is something called CTE which some medical professionals have diagnosed him with after they examined his brain, which essentially is when someone receives a number of severe hits to the head (concussions) and in turn they develop abnormal brain functioning which means the person can behave differently. There’s probably a small part of that which contributed to his behaviors but probably more so family trauma, his dad passing suddenly, being gay, and drugs pushed him to the edge. I think he lived a very depressed and angry life as you can see from interviews he gave and his overall mood seemed low. I feel sad for him and for all the others that were affected by the poor decisions he made. I think if he would’ve received some serious mental health help he could’ve changed his life and became a better person. Guess he wasn’t ready or prepared to receive that help. Maybe others who feel similar to him and who have watched the documentary can recognise what he went through and start receiving treatment.

    I felt so sorry for this young man after I watched this. I believe that the brutality of his father had a hand in this, then after the death of his father, the way his mother behaved had to have had an effect on him. The embarrassment and humiliation brought on by her behavior must have made him very angry. Also, CTE had a hand in this. But, after all of those reasons to excuse his behavior, I believe ultimately that the reason he behaved so horrendously was that he was born a psychopath and as far as I know there is no way to determine that. The whole thing was pitiful for his victims and the families including his own. Too Sad. OH, one last thing, I also believe he experimented with boys in his youth like millions of young people do and I don't believe that had anything to do with the murders.

      It was shit, pushed their agenda rather than the facts, wouldn't recommend. Hernandez was mentally compromised and should have been sentenced as such, but the documentary didn't focus on that, instead they spent 3 hours trying to convince you he was gay and that was likely the reason, because he was frustrated about being scared to come out as gay (a dangerous message to be putting out there, and one I strongly disagree with).

    I am related to Aaron. Grew up with him but was much older. Bristol is a town that is middle-lower middle class. He had a normal childhood. Wasn't gay. Wasn't beaten. He did face an economic position where you are poor enough to get into serious trouble, but not disadvantaged enough to have or develop the smarts to traverse it. His rise to stardom and money wasn't traversable either for someone of this class. He was well liked in Highschool. Would have been better off playing football at a more conservative university and with a Coach that could have been a positive role model. His hometown troubles followed him. Many out there can understand this. I believe he did suffer multiple head injuries that did not help. It's a very sad story, filled with all the Bristol, CT one would expect if you were from there. From the attention seekers, false friends, opportunists, and outright liars. Glad to say I got out and have never and will never, go back.

    I don’t think this documentary interviewed the right people. I still never got the why he did what he did! The only thing I got out of it was his CTE. Worst witnesses tbh that high school friend just looks like he is after some kind of spot light.
