- Stories of the shell ejecting, CO2 Barrett M107 Sniper Rifle had been hovering around the Airsoft universe for a very long time so when we, at RedWolf, heard the news of its impending arrival, all we could do was wait at the front door like a child before Christmas Day. No longer do we have to wait and Tim dived at the chance to review it.

Go on top of a roof and see how long it takes to get your local swat team called.
Try the army instead. No one in any SWAT division is gonna want to tango with a rifle that even remotely looks like a .50 cal , especially one that happens to be a well defined and exceptionally accurately designed Barret M107. I do believe either the feds or the Army are much more guarunteed to show up instead. Funny thought though!
Most airsoft ranges are done on private property so the cops wouldn't be involved

@@sam8404 SWAT doesn't have class 4 or higher body armor protection. If I was that person the police were after, they'd need military grade protection that only the military is allowed to have. So call in the Army National Guard for some one with a .50.

As amazing as it is, It can ONLY be used at home. Shell Ejecting? Yeah right... You think I'm going to pick up each shell especially if I am running with this while taking quick shots? HELL NOPE....
I'll stick to the 1/1 Scale Electric One for $500
then again, realistically, you are not running around with and shooting with it, you are most likely to be using your secondary instead, in hope to find a spot to set up a perfect shooting area
I'm not saying I'd use it as an AR I'm saying when I run from one position to another. Lol sure I'd use my sidearm but the scope on my rifle would be a little more useful if I see anyone from a distance.

Apples and oranges to compare this to an AEG. The shooting experience is just so different. If you want to rain down on your opponents with a rain of BBs, if winning is important - then get an AEG. If you want something to mimic the real thing - to help realize that fantasy of owning and shooting the real Barrett, then this is for you. The AEG and GBBRs appeal to very different kinds of people. GBBR aficionados will tell you that AEGs are boring and every model feels the same.
Would be cool if shell ejecting guns weren't so freaking expensive and the shells where like, easy to clean up or like natural desolving and dirt cheap. Could evolve the milsim air soft to a whole new level. Machine guns etc would be like real mgs, regular rifles wouldnt have high cap mags etc.
Just would be so cool. But so hard since everything is super expensive and you have to reuse the shells.
That price is for recoil and realism, the accuracy of it being a "gun" is off the window.

you are correct, but due to games like Call of Duty it has gained fame as a sniper rifle (which it is not).Barrett does make sniper rifles, but they fire a smaller caliber. The idea of using a .50BMG Anti-Material Rifle for shooting people is really quite silly, but you know how games are...
ruckasnucka95 well, i actually have heard of militaries shooting with a .50 at people... just not in normal circumstances, and not directly(obviously, or you'd just use a proper sniper rifle)

iota-09 The truth is there is nothing as king of snipers in the real world, sorry to break your dream. The M200 Cheytac is only the favorite among video gamer probably due the movie 'Shooter' and other games. In real life, the company has poor customer service and the .408 cheytac was never a popular caliber to begin with. There is simply nothing special about the rifles you mention that would make it better than other precision rifle. The Barrett was used by the US Army for anti personal purposes as the original M24 lacks the range that a 50 BMG could give. So Yes, the .50 is commonly used to shoot people whether it is from a Barrett M82 or a M2 machine gun.

one thing that ruined this gun for me were those horrible squeaks when he was putting the rounds in the mag
I know this comment is from 5 years ago, but some magazines do that, and it could also be a lack of lubricating of the follower spring lol

Yeah, Would be nice if there was a conversion so you didn't have to use the shells, 8mm .48g at about 260 fps With a range exclusion of 15 meters would be sweet ! It'd justify the price then too...
260fps using 0.48g 8MM BBs. That's 1.5 Joules, equivalent to 400fps on an 0.2g BB. Both would hurt equally as much and travel equally as far.
Still, 8mm is justified with a gun as potent as this beast ^^
I wish the barrel would also move back, if the gun itself had a secondary gas reservoir you could do that
playing with this gun must be like 10 sec shooting 10 minutes searching shells and refilling them with co2... it looks great but I think this is just something for real airsoft enthusiasts and for the shooting range but nothing for a real milsim event/game.
I mean you can probably find a way of setting up a shell/brass catch.
Airsoft guns are also used for filmmaking, reenactments etc. so the shell ejection thing is just to add realism. Wouldnt recommend this for skirmishes though.

Wish you had included more shooting filmed from the side and at different locations, cause the sound of the gun varies and mostly the dumping shell sound is louder than anything else
If it would shoot 5-600 fps instead of 250, it would be a hell of a toy target rifle. But with the power that it has out of the box its just a stupid gimmick.
Schaps except a .48 gram 8mm bb is the equivalent of a .20 gram 6mm bb going 400 FPS. This thing can fuck you up pretty bad.
u can tune it and double the power.

one thing i just don't get. why do people still use the fact that shells go missing as a arguement against shell ejecting rifles. use a brass cather if you're using it in a game. wich people rarely do. but some do do it.
I feel like socom could make even more money ontop of the $1000 price tag by making a bio degradable shell for it and selling them cheaper than the brass ones so that way if you ever want to actually use it in a airsoft match instead of just looking at it you don’t have to worry all that much about picking up the shells since it’s like the biodegradable bbs

Power-wise, it's Joules that matter, just sayin'.
FPS isn't everything, it is the Joules - Energy. Remember, it is an 8mm BB traveling at 260 FPS, as opposed to a 6mm BB. It takes more energy to move a 8mm BB then a 6mm BB, so you get the idea?

For how much? And in which country is it legal for citizens to buy real Barretts? :-) In most countries, real gun ownership is illegal, and for those people, this is as close as they will ever get to owning a real Barrett.

+RedWolf Airsoft you can get a restricted firearms licence that enables u to own one. It also includes being able to purchase and store the REAL 50. Caliber snipers rifle. I suggest u stick to your BB guns. Because your talking about stuff you don't know diddly squat about

In Hong Kong, where Redwolf is based, firearms are highly restricted to the point that it's a sport for the rich, like golf (and even then, the rules are strict). In Japan, where airsoft come from, the situation is pretty much the same - The guns you are allowed to own is limited, and even a double barrel shotgun is expensive when you compared the prices between on bought in US. THAT'S why these expensive airsoft replicas are made and "somehow" people still buy them.
Jesse, you have to realise that there's A LOT of countries where ownership of firearms is either prohibited, or restricted (where you can have them, what type you can have, how long can you have them, etc).

lagstyre there is really no reason you should have to oil a magazine, if there is it shows that there is a bad design in the gun somewhere.
Well it costs more than most real firearms, so why shouldn't the quality be as good?
Rainbow Echo Because the M107 is an expensive gun anyway because they are hard to come by. I Don't need to compare this gun to its real life version, I am comparing it to all real firearms. If you spend this much money on ANY real life firearm, its gonna be of a higher quality than this and I guarantee you wouldn't have to oil the mag.
For that price you could add at least 1 mag of shells (10), and not a half. Also the fps, 400fps is not that much for a sniper, especially with that price, you could give at least something equivalent to 500fps on .20g 6mm.
Seems like it has realistic recoil minus the ridiculous concussion from the muzzle brake

Someone needs to build an airsoft rifle that uses a primer cap as the charge for the bb. Then we could have real shells that use the same principles as a real gun. Eventually if everybody got on board, it would be extremely feasible as the shells would be mass marketed and would bring that much more realism to the game.

I understand the use of CO2, I understand the use of blowback, hell I even understand the price tag... but making it a shell ejector...? That just ruins it in my book. Shells are just too easy to lose and too expensive to replace.
It is never meant to be for casuals, more for the hardcore players and collectors. Besides, with a gun like this, you won't be moving around too much due to the weight, so you will be able to locate your shells.

Tim i say keep it in production so i can purchases one by the time I'm ready to make my first test for a movie that I've been developing for the past 12 years.its needed for one of highest of characters as he is an recon specialist of course and I'm counting on air soft to really make this film come to life.it breaks down just like the real one and i feel i speak for all of us who plan on using a Barrett in film productions....and yes u can probably buy the real one but that being said why would you? i mean I'm talking about films here after all.;)

Yeah, I'm not giving more than a thousand euros for an airsoft gun. It's awesome though :P But still, this makes me think that the future of airsoft guns are shell ejecting GBBRs with CO2 loaded in the shells... Imagine an assault rifle, let's say an M4A1, in full auto, ejecting shells... I want that before I die :P

True dat, especially if there's another guy with a same weapon in the field... But that's why they have to make 'em mass produced with cheap materials. Also they should be used in CQB and everyone declare and prove their shells before the start of the game. If someone wants to play in a big woodland field s/he can use shell catchers that are made for exactly that, catching ejected shells ;D
