Thanks for several examples. I’m using some old Field Book & Moleskin Cahier booklets with grids or dots pocket sized as a bullet journal that it fits in my pocket so I take it with me. Previously I used these to take notes at work, draw diagrams or sketches to problem solve randomly. Now retired, I don’t have all those work related tasks that would suck up space in a planner, but I do have so volunteer projects & self improvement tasks I track. Started on July 1st, but ran into a few bumps, however I’m making myself to keep at it as I go making minor adjustments. One problem was figuring out a task tracker that I didn’t have to remake each week, but didn’t get lost on its own page for lack of looking at it. I think I saw another of you videos that had dutch-door pages in it. That gave me the idea on the Monthly Overview of putting the few leftover dates that were on the page to the right back over on the right half of the left page since the events/tasks I put there weren’t going more than halfway across the page. Then I took the reclaimed page to right and folded it vertically in half and are using the grid to track 6 habits that I think repeat throughout the month, & I suspect the year. Oh, I couldn’t cut the page to make the dutch-door because I had already started the first week of July on the backside. But since I’m now past the first week using the page folded in halfway isn’t interfering with the weeks following. Anyway, this gives me a chance to “reuse” the day numbers of the monthly overview to see if this might work in the future without trashing the whole pocket booklet and start over.
I have also been apprehensive of using a Dutch door system. My journal is very practical to help me survive my life. But I noticed that I could use a more condensed monthly/weekly spread. So I am using a variation of your Spread 1 for February. I am excited to try something new in my journal. This may be my new staple spread. ☺️
I'm so glad this video was helpful, dutch door layouts are SOOO addicting 😍 how have you been using them in your bullet journal? Do you mainly use it for a specific type of spread?
Thank you so much! Very inspiring and useful. I'm trying some dutch doors spreads for next month and your video has helped me to get some ideas ☺ so excited to see how it turns out!
I'm so hooked on your channel. I'm not very good at setting up my journals so I love the Ideas you have. So many people laugh at me for doing journals and planners because I'm a guy! I'm like what, Guys don't have a life to plan???
nice tips. fyi, if you hold your pen/brush, etc. between your thumb and index finger and supported on the 1st knuckle of your 3rd finger you'll have more control and less fatigue!
Thank you so much 🥰 I know the way I hold my pens isn't "proper" and probably not the best way, but I've had this habit since I was a kid and how it's been so hard to adjust 😅 I'll give it some practice and see how it goes! Thanks 🥰
Watching a time lapse of you creating these Dutch doors is probably one of the most satisfying things to watch 😍 Always serving us that value Nadia & I’m here for it 🙌🏽
Awww thank you so much 🥰 I'm so glad you enjoyed these dutch door weekly spread ideas! Let me know if you ever try them out in your own bullet journal 💖
So glad you enjoyed these Dutch door weekly spread ideas 😍 the custom shape with the hourglass is so fun! I also tried it with florals for another elegant look. If you ever share your pages on Instagram, feel free to tag me so I can share the post as well 🥰
Great video! I'm new to your channel and I love it! You have a really nice style of journaling and I like your commentary - just right! Regarding habit tracking, I am trying the "101 in 1001" for the first time this year, so I am adding one or two of those into my habit tracking each month (e.g. one of mine is swimming, bubble baths, and reading outside somewhere). Happy 2023!
Awww welcome to my channel! I'm so glad to have you here 🥰 I've never heard of the "101 in 1001" challenge before but that sounds so interesting! I love how you have some relaxing goals such as bubble baths and reading outside. Are you reading anything interesting right now? 💖
yay so happy this showed up on your recommendations 😍 I never knew why it's called a dutch door layout but at least now we know! Let me know if you decide to try it out in your bullet journal 😊
These Dutch doors are mesmerizing! And so fun! And practical! Great presentation! Here's a tip when you're using a blade to cut: Put a self-healing mat under the page. These mats, which come in lots of sizes, are designed to be used as a base for blade cutting.
thank you so much! I'm so glad you enjoyed these bullet journal dutch door designs 😄 I've never heard of a self-healing mat before! I recently just got a plastic mat for my blades but it's not the best and I find it not to be very smooth for my blade! Where do you get your self-healing mats? do you have one that you'd recommend 💕
I have one from Fiskars, bought at one of my local craft stores many years ago. Amazon sells several; I would NOT get a big or expensive one ... I think those are for serious quilters. This type of mat provides a safe surface to cut on, as you’d use a cutting board for prepping vegetables.
ALSO: I recently bought 'Calendar Clear Stamp Set (31 individual stamps)' from amazon ($5 USD). It's a quick way to set up little monthly calendars for tracking habits ... They're small, so you could use one per habit!
@@randigerber1926 ouh I'll definitely look into the mats 😍 thank you so much! I think I also have similar clear stamps for the calendars but I always forgot about it and never used it yet! LOL do you find them useful? Maybe I should give it a try 😂
Love these spreads thank you so much. I am in my first month of bullet journalling and I would like to know if Dutch Doors affect the levels of your journal and make it difficult to write on. Thanks again
Hello Nadia, I love your videos. You give me inspiration to try new things. For June I will try some habit trackers. Up until now my weekly goals have been my 'habits' tracker. I love the June horizontal with your file folders at the top. I just got a new journal and really want to do this for January. Do you think it will work with 5 weeks in the month?
Hey, I'm so glad you enjoyed these dutch door spread ideas 🥰 If you want to try this for your January bullet journal setup, you can cut the page for the weeks 2, 3 and 4, so that it reveals the top of the dutch door for week spread 1and 5. What do you think about that? 💖
