I honestly find survivor more frustrating. Granted tombs, daily rituals and steam achievements are all important to me, and as killer I can straight up farm most of them as I please.
Plus I tend to get more BP for my time and over all killer is just the more fun side of the game.
I wonder if there's any affiliation with people who identify as the 'Explorer' player type and people who prefer killer.

    An addition to Mistake 1:
If you're preparing to abandon a chase, first look to see if you can get rid of a resource. An extra few seconds to force a pallet drop and break is often well worth it, especially early in a match

I'm gonna make an amendment to the toxicity rule. If you're getting frustrated do not feel bad for putting the game down. Your prefrontal cortex literally starts to shut down when you become agitated. That's the area where complex decision making happens. Learn stress reduction techniques so you can handle both toxicity and really tough matches in general. However, if you're feeling tilted then you very literally will not be thinking clearly, and you will make more mistakes, and you will get more agitated.
If you can't take a breath and GG go next, then take a break. The game will be there when you're feeling better.
    GLHF in your next everyone!

28 is so crucial. I cannot stress how important thinking of your three gen is. There are maps where the three gen is so strong that I’ve had survivors just walk up and ask to be stabbed; they know there’s absolutely no way to win at that point. On Hag in particular, a good three gen makes you effectively invincible. 🐀

    • @victorjozek5384
      @victorjozek5384 Год назад +6

I was about to comment about it. I'm surprised that content creators don't mention 3 gens in their gameplay, when they're almost always doing 4ks with 1 gen left at 80% or so.
And because everybody says 3 gen camping is toxic, I just stopped focusing on them and I'm always losing because of it.

Lightborn, aka: Uno Reverse card, is just a fun perk. When survivors shine a flashlight at you, turn your screen and pretend you can still be blinded. They'll keep thinking you're almost blinded while you waltz up and hit them. They'll try this several times before they understand 🐢

One thing that I personally think helps too is trying to not focus too hard on what the meta perks or builds are when you're starting off. If you just look at a guide for whatever the meta for the killer you want to play is before you get a good feel for all the other perks will only stunt your creativity in the long run since you learn A LOT from experimenting with builds and low mmr will probably mean you don't need to sweat every game.
This also leaves you with tons of creativity later on that can be used to create wacky "Not optimal but fun" builds that you can play when you want to take a rest from the sweatfest.

Usually i start with juggeling and see how its going. If ive got 1 survivor on death hook and another hooked and were still at 4 or 5 gens ill chase someone else. When 2 gens are left someones got to go. If were at 1 gen and im on my first hook, time to set up the tent.

Great and helpful list! However, I disagree on a few things:
-Camping and tunneling: I wouldn’t say camping and tunneling are a mistake, they’re situational: you can either make the smartest or the dumbest play by doing so. I mean, the game is not balanced and most of the times getting mixed hooks will lead the killer to a loss if the survivors are good enough, all that matters are kills…which is kinda sad.
I do agree that Lightborn is a meme perk and it’s not worth a perk slot, but Franklin’s demise is actually useful on certain killers (like Hag) and it helps countering busted items like med kits,
About Noed, it’s a 50/50. People either use Noed as a crutch perk (which is wrong and will actually make improving as a killer harder like you said) or because it’s necessary on certain killers (they know how to play and they’re experienced) . Using Noed on Sadako, Wraith and all the weak killers is a good thing to compensate for all their weaknesses, that’s the sad truth: some killers need Noed to stand a chance against good survivors and it makes sense from a winning point of view. Just make sure it doesn’t hurt your progresses to become a better killer.

Something to add to your tip about perks is to follow a general rule, two slowdown, one info and one utility perk. For example, Jolt, Sloppy Butcher, Bitter Murmur and Shattered Hope. Every Killer has different needs, but this is the most basic build and perks I can give. I see far too many Killers stack 4 slowdown on Huntress and have no idea where anybody is, or 4 info perks on Hag lol. It's important to have a diverse build with built in synergy.

Honestly, if there is one thing I can say is that the killer perk Whispers is a godsend if you want the information in maps.
Using Whispers will tell you when a survivor is close to you, and in most cases if you know the layout of some maps, can practically pinpoint a survivors location.
Pairing it with Iron Maiden will allow you to not only corner survivors, but prevent them from hiding in lockers, lest they give away their location and become exposed.
The other great thing about it is that it is by far the best perk on doctor (As well as distressing) as it can tell you when its a good time to fire of your static blast.

After fully watching the video 🦍:
A couple things that are very suggestive as tips->
"Not bringing franklins" i understand one should learn to face items however if you see the survivors all have 4 med kits or 4 toolboxes its a very very useful perk to have for it can just either prevent a heal, stop some fast gen progression etc.
"Dont lose your 3 gen" i agree with this however not the way you said it, for Killers like Trapper and Hag should be prioritizing defending their 3 gen IMMEDIATELY on starting the game, their web or parameter they set up is their only power not going for this immediately causes them to have a extremely difficult time, they don't play like other killers they set up thats what they should do instantly.
"Not tunneling or camping" This is the most EFFECTIVE strategy in the game for a reason, to discourage this is just trying to be nice. Even when people knowingly have reassurance which is rare now a days they almost never use it efficiently and go for unhooks even after using it. And when it comes to tunneling if survivors are forcibly blocking and trying to prevent you from downing this person all this does is mean even more survivors are not doing gens. But if you do get that person downed its a 3v1 and the game becomes DRASTICALLY more in your favor, so you should take any opportunity that presents itself to get a survivor out of a match as SOON as possible to not do that is a detriment.

I may not be good; but I find that when people try 180/360ing you, backing up instead of standing still, while looking works better. This allows you to immediately make space once you spot them and it puts you back across from them so they can't abuse your fov without first closing the gap, which you're hopefully either capitalizing on or widening for more control. This lessens the effect of skill level and sensitivity too by widening your margin of error

I think the message got switched halfway through. At first it seemed that the tips were on how to win games, like "Dont use your power if you can m1", but then later it switched to "don't camp or tunnel or use crutch perks because even if you win, you won't be improving as much". Its just a bit confusing, thats all.

I know this is an older video but another HUGE thing is NOT MEMORIZING HOOK LOCATIONS.
yes, you see their outline when you're carrying. But they won't show if you're right next to them even if separated by a wall, and on some maps they can be hard to spot. Remember where they are to minimize time spent carrying, reduce chances of them wiggling free, and if you see someone saboing the hook you're going to, you can turn right to a hook you know is nearby instead.

The reason why I use Lightborn isn’t because the flashlights are are annoying, it’s just really fun to use. Yesterday I had a match about a team full of flashlights and they were all grouped up flashlighting me but I had Lightborn and it was so fun to see their brain stop working when I managed to down 2 of them 🐷

:43 When he says 45 seconds to a minute hes talking for both hits. A better way to look at it is 2 or 3, maybe 4 pallets. Then the next person you chase you want to try and zone towards those pallets that you got rid of.

3:18 Had this happen to me yesterday. Was playing for awhile and was kind of tired at that point since I was trying to get to Iri 1 all night, but I was getting constant 4ks with Knight and was feeling confident. Sadly the tiredness paired with the confidence led me to kind of turning off my brain that match and getting no kills.
So piece of advice: do not continue playing even while you are tired or frustrated as it will only hurt your gameplay. Even taking a short nap before getting back on is good enough.

I don’t know if you said these but I’ll say them I will also mix Survivor and killer tips.
    1. (Beginner killers) If you down a survivor and put them on the hook don’t camp that hook till they die. if you wait out the entities progression is way slower instead go find other survivors so about time that survivor that was on the hook is off the hook you already downed another survivor(get the catch?)
    2. (Beginner survivors) if you’re working on a gen by yourself always listen carefully for the terror radius or the heartbeats if the Terror radius is at a 12 or 24 RUN away. Same thing with working on a GEN with another survivor.
    3. (Experienced killers) as you get better at the game you will start to notice survivors trying to loop/360 you you’ll know when you see it. So I suggest turning your sensitivity to at least 90 or 95 practice in custom game mode so it gets easier for you
    4. (Experienced survivors) instead of looking in front of you while running from the killer always try to balance looking behind you in front of you to know where to go next.
    5. (Advanced killers) whenever you spawn you always wanna look to the closest generator cause survivors that have experience will always know if you see them or not.
    6. (Advanced survivors) know when it comes to looping or 360’ing you have to be patient with both of them The best places to loop a killer is T&L walls and shacks(further noticed on videos) now on 360’ing do you want to turn your sensitivity in my opinion at least 90 or 95 (further notice in videos)
And the last and final two tips (Long time killers and survivors)
    7. For killer you should know how to mind game shack 10 hours and tight pallets by now
    8. For survivors The main goal for survivors is to play with the killers mind
Now for some of these tips I can’t explain well so you’ll have to use videos but I hope some of these helped you🎉🎉

I'm new to DbD, and plaher trapper and wraith. When surviors start to tea bag and, fake disarm my traps in front of me. It makes me move some of my traps into bushes and tall grass near the bait traps, then I position myself in a way so that when I start to chase them they are getting pushed near me kill traps. All while weaving around my bait. I had a 4 man flashlight team last night that was bming the whole time. I ended up getting all of them because they were so focused on being bm they didn't do generators. I will say as a new trapper the best part about him is if you have a dead zone, kill zone, bait lines, and 3 generators near each other. You basically win.

Watching content creators, I think, has contributed the most to multiplayer games becoming ultra competitive and stressful. Yes, people would have discovered meta/meme builds and min/max strategies on their own, but the info would not spread like wildfire with everyone trying to immediately copy it.

6:41 That's good advice. Only, I gotta tell you something, I have seen smart people play. You know what they do? They all carry flashlights. So if you get stunned by a pallet, they blind you. There is a way to avoid this, and other moments where you can get blinded. I just wanted to mention that.

As a killer main i strongly disagree with the term "crutch perks" BHVR does nothing but buff survivors every update. I believe as a killer if something is working for you and is fun for you then keep using it. Also with the recent buff to Renatos perk (with the 200% speed boost when killer is picking up) Flashlight saves are increasingly harder to counter especiall when the survivor is using a suped up one (which they should always be doing because anything lower than a green with top addons is garbage)
Long story short, survivors deserve no leniency in your play style as a killer, use everything you can to keep the game to your advantage.

Some of these pieces of advice are good, but I also think some of these are quite situational. Various perks make some of these pieces of advice quite moot. Like bamboozle for vaulting, or kicking gens for things like eruption, etc.
And the advice about not using M2 too much... Eh? I think for new killers, they should try to use it as much as possible. You may lose games a bit more, but there's only one way to get better. Particularly if the killer has particularly difficult M2 abilities, like Nurse, Spirit, Blight, etc.

I'm new to the game, and I followed your tip to patrol the three gens that are close when I was playing Nurse on the Hawkins Lab map. Had three gens that even Nurse could patrol very easily at the end (one by the exit, one down the hall at the corner, and one in a nearby room to the exit). I didn't even force them to these gens; it's just what they ended up with. After extending the match by literally 20 minutes on those three gens, I got tired of waiting and ended up killing the 2nd to last person. Last person got away through the exit on the far side. In the chat after the game, they accused me of "camping gens" and were really mad at me. Did I do something I shouldn't have? Or were they just mad that the game took so long?
