Galileo, what a horse. Beautiful movement for a big horse who had such a professional attitude. So calm in his races and never broke a sweat. Obviously he has passed that on to a lot of his offspring aswell. Beautiful horse who is still worth a lot of money, more than he ever made racing he has made at stud.
I saw an article that Galileo is also a people's horse and likes to have his many admirers around him given the chance. Very much like our Sub Zero was in Australia until his recent passing at 32 years of age. Lovely article about him on YT.
Mick Kinane on Galileo, the greatest sire in european history, no mind the Derbys and the great races he won. His tree including Frankel, Nathaniel, New Approach, Teofilo, Found, Magical etc etc is just mind boggling.
This is a history in the making, what you have seen above is the most beautiful, powerful horse probably ever in this world. Galileo a name will go down in history books. Beautifully ridden by the Master Kinane
Very rare to see horses so focused on the job. There are a couple of runs from The Queen of the Turf (Winx) were her action is just fluid and she never looked stressed! Always chewed them up!
@@michaelhutchings8599 Not sure you can put Winx up alongside Galileo I reckon Galileo would have chewed up the likes of Hartnell Humidor Benbatl and Highland Reel pretty bloody easily

Still can't believe Coolmore, in their wisdom, chose to run Galileo in the BC Classic - the whole Sadlers Wells line has been next to useless on dirt. It would have been a nice decider between Galileo and Fantastic Light had Galileo run in the Turf ( they were very much the same ratings-wise except Galileo probably had the advantage over 12 furlongs with Fantastic Light probably having the edge at shorter distances. )
Absolutely, it's something I can't believe, they obviously wanted to make him more attractive to the American breeders but it was too big a gamble for a horse that had always run on turf, plus he was more of a twelve furlongs horse than a ten furlongs type.
Not really. If my memory is correct, those European horses have not done well on dirt as on grass where they have already got used to. It won't be an easy thing to have such adaptability before racing against those Amecican elite racehorses which usually races on dirt.

I'm no expert on these things but to my untrained eye he had a beautiful action.
