  • I have been on 311 different roller coasters that have inverted me and experienced 1175 different inversions across the globe. Some inversions are fast and forceful, piling on positive Gs. Others are slow and graceful, instead granting hangtime. Then a few elite ones manage to combine elements of both while also incorporating top-notch visuals. In this video, I will rank my top 50 favorite inversions worldwide.

I agree. In fact, I'd go as far to say that airtime speedhill into the diveloop, into the zero-g stall are the best three elements following eachother on any coaster. I figured the flying snake dive on Ride to Happiness had to rank super high. I haven't ridden it but it looks like the ultimate inversion. From the POVs it looks extremely disorienting and very hard to understand what's going on.
I was initially taken a back that you gave Schwarzkopf loops an honorable mention. But I was pleased to see you include the double loops on the list. Those are fantastic. I love Schwarzkopf loops. My first ever inversion was Revolution at Magic Mountain. I find the strong positive g forces to be really cool. When I first rode Revolution as a little kid I guess I thought that inversion would automatically feel like you are going to fall so my body wasn't prepared for the sensation of sinking into my seat. Great List! I’ve been on a few of them. I’d love to get on Lech Coaster some day, every inversion on that ride looks fantastic especially that first one. Some of my favorites:
    - Storm Runner flying snake dive
    - Great Bear corkscrew… love the entire sequence… sharp turnaround, pause for a glide along the creek, snappy left pull up above the wonky supports, brief pause, then the right hand snappy inversion
    - Great Bear Vertical Loop and Immelmann… love the gradual, extended pullout of the loop before the Immelmann
    - Batman the ride barrel rolls (only have been on SFGAd, SFMM)… love the brief pause after the first helix, right turn, left barrel roll, over banked right turn, then dive into the trench for the second barrel roll
    - Dueling Dragons - Fire/Chinese Fireball Immelmann and helix

I have 3 favorite inversions for different reasons.
1: the interlocking loops on Loch Ness Monster, BGW. It may just be 2 average vertical loops, but the view is amazing on and off the ride. Sometimes, you even get 2 trains going through at once! Looking up during that is insanely disorienting, especially when there is another train in the loop.
2: the Bernal roll drop on Storm Chaser (my first and only RMC at time of writing). You did a pretty good job describing it in the video. My dad was not expecting it, and he was very surprised.
3: Griffin’s first inversion. Decent hang time, and an insanely high inversion. I have some really great pictures of myself and family upside down in that.

I also like the layout of the first four inversions on Alpengeist at Busch Gardens Williamsburg because starting the ride off with an Immelman instead of a loop took me by surprise the first time I rode it and how quickly you go through those inversions plus the tunnel in the middle of them and how close you get to the ground feels like you can't catch a break between them.

Zero g roll on Black mamba
Heartline roll on Blue fire, Anubis the ride and Lost gravity

People dog it, and go overboard, especially the douchy airtime thrills chronies, but Manhattan Express or ehatever the name is these days still has one of the best and easily most underrated loops.
Now i did scan this quickly, so maybe i missed it, but Montezumas Rev or Revolution is a snub (The intense Schwarzkopf loops).
Tatsu's giant pretzel is the most intense of intense. Snub
    TwistedCol and the TopGun stall.
FlightDeck at Carrowinds. Id go on a limb and maybe include any of these because you feel so much higher than almost any other invert.

Iv experienced many good Inversions like all the positive G and whippy filled ones on B&M Inverts and some hangtime like on Goliaths Zero G Stall.
