Aside from the 2 grammar mistakes ('lake' instead of 'sea' @ 0:37 / 'pavement' instead of 'sidewalk' @ 1:00 ) - perhaps the best cover of this seminal Randy Newman song...especially live.
Nina Simone’s cover is actually what introduced me to the song in the first place. This one is terrific as well

Out of curiosity, what was the context of this performance, which was terrific by the way. Do bands in Norway in general cover deep cut classics on TV. Was something in the news, did they binge watch the Wire or did they want to show the audience a great song they most likely had never heard or was this once a hit in Norway?
This is from a show called "Trygdekontoret" (translated: Social security office). Just about every show ended with a Norwegian artist doing a cover they wouldn't normally play. Lots of great performances from there!

@@mennobults6464 El Cuero is still active, I think, yes. Note that Elvira Nikolaisen is not a member, this was a collab just for this TV show.
If you enjoyed the lead guitar player, his name is Øyvind Blomstrøm and also plays with several other acts. I recommend his work with Monica Heldal (now sadly retired due to severe tinnitus).
