Coolest way to land Apocalyptic Burst to me is stamina break, Beast combo into the gut punch, then use it. Keeps them stunned just long enough to hit them with it.

If you play on playstation you kind of gotta move the left stick towards the enemy but only like for a super short time and while doing that press square or triangle
