@@MrStephencw Thank you for replying so quickly, appreciate that! Some quick context: I am flying cargo missions on MSFS 2024, most airports do not have ILS or any other ability type of approach. I am looking for a way to automate my approach as much as I can. On the G1000 I can just select and activate a straight visual approach that the gps can follow, I then select an altitude to be around the altitude of 'faf' and hit VNV, when I get close I turn on APR, then I get GP on the screen, my plane follows the glide path to the runway, when I am really close I disable AP and land manually. I am looking to replicate this this on the Pilatus PC-12. Apologies for the long comment, and thank you for your time!
@@Aero_Art Yeah, Unfortunately, the visual approaches haven't been programmed into the PC-12 FMS system. Hopefully, it happens at some point in the future. For now, a workaround would be selecting the waypoint before the runway when you try to put in a visual approach, select cross and set the altitude AT as 1500ft above runway elevation, and the speed at around 95. This will ensure the plane is at that altitude and speed when crossing that final way point. And from there its just a case of hand flying it in.
Hi, I can try to help you out. Just a couple of questions, Which approach procedure are you flying? Or is it not arming for any of them? Is it just this plane it’s not working in or multiple planes? With the VNAV, I would first check that altitudes are programmed into the FMS by selecting the 'Cross' option in the drop-down above the flight plan and the manually selected altitude is set at whatever the next altitude you need is. The approach is a little trickier as there could be a few different factors, If its easier I could jump in a discord call and go through it with you to try work out whats happening?
Hi Samuel. As well as checking the above points make sure sure your NAV button is on and also you dial in a lower altitude ( usually the Final Approach Fix altitude) than your current altitude and about a minute minute before the Top of Decent (TOD shown on you moving map)you press the VNAV button.
I can try help you out with that. Just a couple of things to check, is Nav enabled and GPS is in green at the top as well as AP. In the middle of your compass do you have the purple/magenta indicator line?
Thanks! The 'unable next ALT' message will display when the FMS predicts the plane won't be able to reach the next altitude constraint in the flight plan. This is likely due to the rate of climb with the given speed in the distance between the waypoints. I suggest setting a slower speed/steeper rate of climb and see if it clears the message, or overriding the given altitude constraint for a lower one. As for unable RNP I'd guess this is a bug to do with the sim/plane not knowing the GPS position of the plane. Do you know when this pops up or can you replicate the error message as this will likely not allow precision approaches to be flown so should be reported to the dev team if it is a bug
Why no one is trying to do visuals approach with this thing? Because it’s not working. Glidepath and approach button will not work. Even if you put the flight plan correctly. Pls someone explain. Because the cargo missions with this plane mostly will be smaller airports with no ILS.. so teaching ils on this plane in career mode makes no sense and is unnecessary unfortunately
I’d reccomend using a different plane or simply hand flying the landings instead of trying to use the FMS to land. Also, this was just a general overview video not so much a career mode specific, but will have a look at visual approaches next time I’m on FS
Could you do a tutorial on how to do a visual approach on this plane?
Hello, The FMS visual approaches have not been programmed into this yet. Or do you mean just a manual landing?

Good clean tutorial. Straightforward.
I can’t get VNAV or APP to enable no matter what I do. Any tips?
Hi, I can try to help you out. Just a couple of questions,
Which approach procedure are you flying? Or is it not arming for any of them?
Is it just this plane it’s not working in or multiple planes?

I can’t get the plane to follow my flight plan, I have NAV enabled and everything, what am I doing wrong?
I can try help you out with that. Just a couple of things to check, is Nav enabled and GPS is in green at the top as well as AP.

Great Video! Could you explain what the message „unable next ALT“ means on the NAV Screen? I also get „unable RNP“ often…

can you do a video demonstrating a missed approach followed by a landing (with autopilot)
Hello! Yeah, next couple of videos will be Vision Jet basics then I’ll do a missed approach after that 🙂
Did you have to load your approach from the ils sheet?
Hi, no, in the PC-12 the approaches can just be loaded in as visual approaches these can be used for airports without designated precision approaches
Why no one is trying to do visuals approach with this thing? Because it’s not working. Glidepath and approach button will not work. Even if you put the flight plan correctly. Pls someone explain. all this time, I was landing manually
if you have no ILS approach - there's no other way than manual on approach
