There's actually a fanfic called 'Secret of Frost and Moon' where Jack doesn't lose his memories and his sister becomes one of his first believers. It's a long and fantastic story but to make it short Jamie is Jack's descendant in the story and the path the story takes to get to the movie's point in time is engaging and wondrous. Check it out if you can.
I only seen this movie once but I always did think that Jack's sister and Jamie were related too. That he was her descentant and that made them family. That I think was the most implied explanation.
When I was little I believed in Santa. In my preteens I stopped believing. When I turned 25 I started believing again. I don't believe in Santa the way kids do though. I believe in the spirit of Santa. He represents all the goodness in the human heart. He is an icon used to bring that spirit out. There may even be physical proof of Santa Clause! My Dad has said several times that, not only when I was a kid, but even now he finds presents under the tree with me or my sisters' name that he doesn't remember buying!
@@ericowen5305 Santa/ saint Nick was a real person I believe when he died his spirit lived on or got stronger and became a very important spirit too the universe.
Oof. I wish this was the case for me. I was told when I was 4 that Santa didn’t exist. And tbh, after that, I refused to go to those “visit Santa/sit on Santa’s lap” thing. It creeped me out. But for whatever reason, I was never told the tooth fairy or Easter bunny weren’t real. I figured those out after a while
It also really explains the scene where Jack instantly flashes back to his second "rebirth" on the pond at the end of the movie when helping out Jamie.
Also, have in mind that Jamie's mom knew about Jack Frost. She didn't believe in him, but she knew him as "just an expression" which, I think, represents that bond that Jack's family has. Just think about it, in honor of their son/brother's death, they made the phrase which over time changed.
It's easy to miss, but it is actually an Easter movie. At one point the Easter Bunny mentions having to paint some crazy amount of eggs in a short amount of time and Santa wouldn't be happy either if he had shown up right before Christmas.
@@DarkcIoud1111 Really? I didn't remember that. I guess it still seemed more winter-like to me, & with Jack Frost as a main character I would still watch it at Christmas/New Years time. We are definitely not thinking about Jack Frost, we're hoping for no rain that week so that we can have fun in the sun for spring break. The phrase "where summer starts in April & ends in October" is pretty much true here.
@@tamarasmith9060 As someone that lives in the Northeastern US, I understand. Like I said, it is kind of a quick comment; they mention it right before the Eastern Bunny brings them to his base.
@@DarkcIoud1111 Mhmm, the movie actually DOES take place in Easter xD It starts two days before Easter and ends a day after (guesstimating ofc). That's why Pitch destroyed the eggs and why North and the others helped paint them. It's essentially an Easter movie on Christmas xD Like DreamWorks, seriously?!
While the movie takes place during Easter I recon that since North is one of the main characters it can count as a Christmas movie. Also I love ROTG too much not to watch it whenever I’ve been given the chance.
I don't know where did ı get heard but I remember William Joyce said he didn't want to copy the book. So maybe you are right about the relatives it makes sence actually but ı didn't think Jack was nightlight in the film.
Pretty certain William Joyce didn't originally plan on putting Jack into the book series. It wasn't until he saw how beloved and popular Jack had become, from the movie alone, that he decided Jack needed to be in the books. Not wanting to just throw Jack in with little reason to have him, William simply made him and Nightlight the same person. (Seeing as they were already very similar characters to begin with.)
If that’s the case, that would make so much sense because a lot of people have felt that the books and the movie are two different universes, mostly because of the differences in Jack’s backstory. If I remember correctly, in the books, Jack willingly chose to fall through the ice as Nightlight (to protect his human family, who adopted him) and he chooses whether or not to be invisible, etc. and in the movie, from what we saw, that’s definitely not the case. Hopefully it’s out there somewhere that Joyce said that and can be confirmed.
The idea that Jack had been born into a race of mystical beings who somehow got amnesia instead of a fun loving but essentially ordinary boy who was chosen as a Guardian because he put his sister's life ahead of his own completely ruins what is for me that emotional payoff in Rise of the Guardians: The moment when he looked up at the Moon and said "That's why you choose me. I'm a Guardian."
Same here. I think this is why a lot of people believe that the books and the movie are two separate universes. In the book, Jack remembers that he willingly fell through the ice to protect his family and chose to erase his memories. Then in the movie, this didn’t happen. Jack fell through the ice by accident and only had a sister at least from what we could see and lost his memories because he literally died. I’ve always had this theory that in the movie universe, Jack and Night Light were two separate people. Nightlight was killed in a battle against Pitch and then his soul/essence is the source of Jack’s power so to speak.
The more I think about it the more I realize that rise of the guardians would fit right in as a world in kingdom hearts, it’s a shame it’s not a Disney or Pixar property though.
this explains so much why he can't hear the moon talk why he is so much more powerful powers he doesn't understand yet becaude he isnt a guardian made from a human but a guardian made from a nightlight
I love this video, Isaac. Well done and very well explained. I think what connects Jack Frost and Jamie is Jack's sister. Jamie and Jack's sisters are absolutely related. There's a theory that I believe that Jamie is the descendant of Jack's sister. I love and connect to the character of Jamie in Rise of the Guardians, because like him, I believe in magic and other things.
See this goes into the argument of what one considers to be the qualification for making a movie a (insert holiday here) movie. What I believe C Rendler is referring to is how some people think that for a movie to be about the certain holiday simply adding a certain symbols associated with it must be in there, if that is our standard then this movie can be called an Easter movie. By these same standards we can say that The Nightmare Before Christmas is the greatest holiday movie ever since it has Valentine's Day (Heart), St. Patrick's Day (Four-leaf clover), Easter (Easter egg and later you see the Easter bunny), Independence Day (Fireworks), Halloween (Jack-o'-lantern),Thanksgiving (Turkey), and Christmas - (Christmas tree). P.S Die Hard *is not* a Christmas movie!

What if the guardians have to after period of time pass their powers on to someone and Jamie is the next Jack Frost. I realize they are immortal but that means they can be killed by pitch. I just don’t think the gaurdians wouldn’t have a plan in case something like that happened. Sandy is the only sticking point I don’t know about but I see this being possible with all the others

I love when you do Rise of the Guardians videos. It really doesn't get enough love, and seeing someone appreciate my favorite movie of all time makes me really happy.
When o watched Th e movie for the second time I noticed that before Jack went all Guardian, he had the same eyes and hair as Jamie. I immediately thought they had to be related somehow.
They are flip images each had what the other needs Jamie is fun-loving and mischievous like Jack but unlike Jack he refused to give up he kept hope all the way until the end he is motivated whereas Jack is unmotivated and not wanting any responsibility and sees being a guardian as being some kids fairy tale and give them treats and things for nothing Jamie teaches him to trust and to take responsibility and care they connect Bc they both help Jamie helps Jack be responsible and a hero and Jack shows Jamie how to have fun and to never stop having fun and keeping hope
Maybe Jamie is Jack Frost’s great grandson and the lake he fell in trying to save his sister from was a portal that brought him in the future where his family hasn’t aged to some unknown reason (idk this is just my take on it)
I always thought that Jamie and Jack's sister where related. Also, Rise of the Guardians is an Easter movie because that is the holiday that is coming up. I'm fact, it even shows the kids looking for Easter eggs.
I love this movie. :) A long time ago, I remember reading the theory that Baby Tooth is Jack's sister reincarnated as a fairy. She's also the only little fairy with a golden feather on her head like the Tooth Fairy's. Jack still ends up being a guardian for his sister. It's an adorable theory. Likely not true, but adorable.
The author said that there were talks about a netflix show. That was a few months ago. I read the books and i think it would be an amazing show. The world building is so rich and could entertain children and adults. I hope someone at netflix/Dreamworks gives it a chance.
Same!! I was so happy when I heard William said that. The series has so much potential to an animated TV series and maybe even more, it's incredible, the only thing stopping it from happening is that the movie was massacrated at the box office and Dreamworks might think giving this series another try is way too risky, but let's hope they give.
Sorry to be that person, but I can't help it because you just spelled it so horribly wrong.... *Europeans ...think Europe, add "ans" to the end of it. De nada.
I believe Jack, Jack's sister, and Jamie and his sister are related since they do have a high resistant to extreme cold... like Jack, Jamie, and Jamie's sister can walk on snow and ice barefoot without a problem. I tried doing that once and I bailed in three seconds.
Santa Claus next please I love the movie so much and the holiday season makes the most sense delve into all the characters you've done so much on Jack frost already. The other guardians deserve the Wotso treatment the Easter bunny, The tooth fairy their stories should get a chance to shine like Jack and pitch have gotten.
5:00 OH MY GOD!!! Someone actually remembers Katherine is Jack's actual girlfriend and not insisting is Elsa as oppose to every Jack fan video still forcing that despite how out of character that ship is. And Elsa's creator Jennifer Lee dislike of Jelsa. Bonus that you mention the books which honestly most of Jack's fangirls never read and instead drown themselves in cringey Jelsa fanfiction further putting poor Jack in Elsa's giant shadow.
Well, this guy knows better because Jack and Elsa are from two different studios and dimentions, and have never and will NEVER happen. He sticks to the true facts of things! Which I love! I dispise Jelsa with a passion! #AntiJelsa #JelsaSucks Jack and Elsa clash! Those shippers don't make sense in their writings when trying to put them together.
I'd love it if someone did a Phineas and Ferb theory. There's only one out there that I can find and it doesn't make sense. Doof is not the missing father of anyone in that show. I know there are theories about Candace being crazy but I don't know how much truth there is to that. PLEASE DO A THEORY ON THAT SHOW IF YOU CAN 👌😊👌
oh wow. having not read the book (thank you for that summary btw!!!), i always thought Jack was related to Fli(sp?)/the girl in the beginning and was her older brother, and Jaime was the reincarnation of her (maybe thats a little too spiritual 😅), but Jack not being directly related to them at all..... makes it even more beautiful somehow? just, the bond he made with the family being so strong that it transcended time, despite them not even being related, but just due to how much they loved each other...... thats amazing.
From the time i saw this movie i thought this and yes i believed it passes as a Christmas movie I mean the guardians deliver presents then they move on to collecting the teeth then at the end is Easter which I didn't get since they ended it with eveyone on the ice and by that time it should have melted??
That’s a cool theory, I also have other theories, I feel like he was drawn to Jamie because Jamie reminded him of himself. Or maybe because he can feel Jamie’s powerful ability in believing in spiritual beings.
I guess we have to wait for a Rise of the Guardians 2 to know the answer to why they are so connected. I mean would't we all watch it? I say yes! So why not right?
I remember Watching rise of the guardians when I was like 7, I loved the movie and would watch it every night, so I noticed details I hadn't seen before, I was quite an intelligent child from age 4 and upwards, So when I watched it I noticed similarities, and instead of diving into books like you do, I go deep into research, So like you I found out about Anna and her brother who I forgot the name of already, and noticed things like you did like Anna and Jack's closeness and Viola and Jack's closeness, Like you said I had the theory That Anna and Viola are the same person, So if Anna had changed into Viola she was similar to Jack right?, When you see Jack saving Viola, you see him in the water and then it goes black and skips to when he is Jack Frost, but If you looked close enough You can see her Standing and starting to skate over to him, So what if after Jack had closed his eyelids Viola Got in to help her brother, but ended up failing, and instead of the man and the moon changing her into guardian, He gave her another life, As Jamie when the ice broke giving Jack his life as Jack Frost, Jamie seemed Close to Jack as soon as he met him properly, Meaning, Anna as Viola was still in there remembering her brother, When Jack and the guardians had to leave, the look of Pain on Jamies face was more than just losing you friend it was losing a brother, Viola didn't wanna lose her brother again, Which would be the reason why Jamie hugged him so tight, But maybe the man and the moon gave Jamie some powers when he resurrected him, for instance he turned The nightmare into a good dream like Sandmans, It would explain it, all he had to do was Touch it, So I think When Jack Frost was turned into Jack frost, His younger sister Viola was turned into Jamie, Keep in mind I was 7 when I figured this out, I just hadn't thought it through until today..
I absolutely love rise of the guardians! I think you can watch this movie at any point during the year. It takes place at Easter time but because there is a Santa clause figure as well everyone thinks it's a Christmas movie. I like to watch it in the spring time personality but you do you boo boo.
Well I thought Jamie was just both a reincarnation and a descendant of his sister at the same time! Could've been more heartwarming revelation and reunion. Though I think it will be a lot more complicated and longer just for those either or both big reveal. *"Ain't it, mate?"* (in Easter Bunny's accent)
Technically, Guardians is an Easter movie. But like Bunny makes the point in the movie, Santa will always get all the glory when it comes to childhood favorites.

I remember this movie since my childhood days, it's my number one favorite of all time because it's memorable.
I will be waiting. Guardians sequel
I love this movie. :)
A long time ago, I remember reading the theory that Baby Tooth is Jack's sister reincarnated as a fairy.
Please make more Jack Frost videos!!!!
I think the developers hinted that Jamie was the descendant of Jack's sister.
i really love jack he is my dream knight i love him so much
Love the idea that Jaime is a decendent of Jacks sister. Glad your talking about this movie. Such an underrated masterpiece.
Thank you for the links. I had no idea this had books!
I thought Jack's old family was at the Dark age . Hundreds of years before America was found by Eurupiens
Sorry to be that person, but I can't help it because you just spelled it so horribly wrong.... *Europeans ...think Europe, add "ans" to the end of it. De nada.
I thought so too at first. But then I thought about the math. Obviously, not my best or favorite subject. XD
They were. You can tell that from the beginning of the movie. They were one of the first settlers.
YAY I LOVE ROTG
I believe Jack, Jack's sister, and Jamie and his sister are related since they do have a high resistant to extreme cold... like Jack, Jamie, and Jamie's sister can walk on snow and ice barefoot without a problem. I tried doing that once and I bailed in three seconds.
Hiccup kind of looks like Jack Frost.
Rise Of The Guardians holds a special place in my heart, believers know they are guardians who protect us.
Rise of the guardian is my favourite film
Santa Claus next please I love the movie so much and the holiday season makes the most sense delve into all the characters you've done so much on Jack frost already. The other guardians deserve the Wotso treatment the Easter bunny, The tooth fairy their stories should get a chance to shine like Jack and pitch have gotten.
Been waiiiiting
rise of the guardians to me has always been an Easter movie since they focus on that throughout the movie.
I always believed that Jack Frost was Jamey’s uncle, or other relative connecting Jack Frost sister and James mother in some sort of way
I know right Its beatiful!
Bonus that you mention the books which honestly most of Jack's fangirls never read and instead drown themselves in cringey Jelsa fanfiction further putting poor Jack in Elsa's giant shadow.
juan ortiz there’s books?!🤩 yeah I’m not a fan of the ship with Elsa because people ONLY do that because they BOTH control ice.
juan ortiz is there a specific reason why Jennifer Lee’s dislike of Jelsa? I’m just shocked by reading your comment and this is an awkward bummer.🤦♂️
Marc McDonnell Ironic, because I heard that the creator of Jack Frost form the movie actually likes it.
MaggiesHeartLove really? And btw you check on your spelling.
Well, this guy knows better because Jack and Elsa are from two different studios and dimentions, and have never and will NEVER happen. He sticks to the true facts of things! Which I love!
I dispise Jelsa with a passion! #AntiJelsa #JelsaSucks
Jack and Elsa clash!
PLEASE DO A THEORY ON THAT SHOW IF YOU CAN 👌😊👌
Kinda figured that there was a descendants-theme...
Also, a full KH-Kairi video?
Especially with KH3 REMIND coming out?
oh wow. having not read the book (thank you for that summary btw!!!), i always thought Jack was related to Fli(sp?)/the girl in the beginning and was her older brother, and Jaime was the reincarnation of her (maybe thats a little too spiritual 😅), but Jack not being directly related to them at all..... makes it even more beautiful somehow? just, the bond he made with the family being so strong that it transcended time, despite them not even being related, but just due to how much they loved each other...... thats amazing.
I ALWAYS KNEW THEY RELATED (somehow)
From the time i saw this movie i thought this and yes i believed it passes as a Christmas movie I mean the guardians deliver presents then they move on to collecting the teeth then at the end is Easter which I didn't get since they ended it with eveyone on the ice and by that time it should have melted??
Rise Of The Guardians is one of the best animated 🎥 ever!
I want a second movie so bad it hurts
Ikr. The books make you wish that even more.
When Jack heard someone's voice for calling his name. "Jack". He can't recall who it was.
Love this!
It’s an Easter movie. Most of it takes place three days before Easter.
Yes it’s a Christmas movie
Been waiting for this video😀
TV usually airs Rise of Guardians around christmas here in my country. But to me, it's movie for anytime.
*SCREAMS IN NO LIFE AND JACK FROM ROYALE HIGH HEARS AND TURNS INTO PRETTY QUEEN EVIL DEVIL*
I absolutely love rise of the guardians! I think you can watch this movie at any point during the year. It takes place at Easter time but because there is a Santa clause figure as well everyone thinks it's a Christmas movie. I like to watch it in the spring time personality but you do you boo boo.
I love your video Issac. It gives a little depth to the story.
This was an odd video for RUclips to randomly recommend to me, but I'm happy to watch it.
Rise of the guardians is a Easter movie. It does take place at Easter after all
Omg I love Rise of the Guardians !!!
