Thanks for the video! Been watching this to pass my MBBS!
My go to source for musculoskeletal exams.
I'm suffering from this right now after a night of playing guitar trying new hand position. The next day it hurts on the elbow to flex&extend. Thanks for the video.
I have spent months studying relieving tennis elbow pain naturally and found a great website at Freds Elbow Helper (check it out on google)
Excellent video content! Apologies for chiming in, I am interested in your thoughts. Have you tried - Parlandealey Flexible Elbow Process (Sure I saw it on Google)? It is a great one of a kind guide for learning how to cure tennis elbow minus the hard work. Ive heard some incredible things about it and my mate after many years got astronomical success with it.
hi! i've seen this test being done with the arm extended, so i'm wondering now, should it be done with the arm on extension or flexion?
Thank you so much❤
As the presentation in a simple way ,it's useful,
God bless you
Excellent
THANK YOU SO MUCH! YOU ARE THE BEST! GOD BLESS YOU ALWAYS! 👏😁👏
hallo, thank you for taking the time to share your valuable knowledge in these informative videos, I have a question, what is the purpose of palpating the lateral epicondyle when doing this test and other tests for lateral epicondylitis? Danke schön
Just easier for the patient to give feedback on the pain location plus you could confirm that it's the ext. carpi radialis brevis by increasing pressure on the lateral epicondyle.
I'm using if for PANRE-LA retesting
hi! What´s the specificity or sensitivity of this test? Thanks!!
ITS AWESOME VERY USEFUL
Happy to hear you like our video! Thx
I hit my ulnar nerve on the edge of wood table with extreme force - it’s been a month and my finger still feel a little stiff in the morning and extended bending of my elbow while playin guitar aggravates it more - I’ve seen a doctor who performed tests and he said it could take one to 2 months to recover - but he was confident I’d be fine - my question is: is it normal to still feel these pain symptoms after a month ?
Did you end up healing?
This is good explanation video, but is it good for people to do the test by family members of friend at home??
No, should really be done by a health professional
This video tutor is for health professional's practice.
Brilliant
Thanku
i just past the test✌
So he was trying to bring the hand in alignment with the forearm and you resisted that movement? It was not very clear.
What’s the sensitivity and specificity?
Unknown
love your accent!!!
which accent ;)
is it the Dutch accent? (it says you guys are in the Netherlands!) =)
+Alex Nguyen we are both from Germany but studied and live in the Netherlands
get to the chopper !!!
I'll be back
+J88 S love you back 🙏🏼
Maximally flex or extend ?..at the introduction
nobody knows... i've same doubt
"Resisted wrist extension triggers the pain."
Extend with resistance
Lateral epicondylitis involves wrist extensor muscle group. Therefore extension is appropriate.
Extension
What does the patient make a fist? Is this isolating ECRB?
+John Daly we can just assume that Cozen wanted to have a maximal contraction of the extensors Carpi radialis brevis+longus which both assist with making a fist in addition to the resisted movements.
Thank you again! Keep up the good work!
should i make my hand radial divation ?!
Hi Safwan-s! The radial deviation is a only small component, but the extensor carpi radialis longus+brevis extend the wrist and radially deviate. So ideally - yes!
aha i understand now 👍👍👍
why did you put the hand in pronation instad of supination ?? while the main actions of these tendons are(wrist extenition, radial deviation and supination)as in mechanism of tennis elbow injury
The carpi radialis brevis and longus don't act as supinators of the wrist.
REVERSE CIZEN´S TEST PLEASE
The sound of the videos is not good
Katelin Avenue
✨♥️
or just pronation is enough
Like mentioned below, the main action is wrist extension, so make sure you resist that while having the forearm in pronation and ideally add a little radial deviation as well!
