  • This is my video of a walk thru of the Japanese Garden and the nearby Koi Fish in the Japan Pavilion at EPCOT, from my first trip to Walt Disney World in September 2024. As with much of the rest of the Japan pavilion, these features date back to the grand opening of EPCOT Center on October 1, 1982. I was extremely impressed with the heavy amounts of theming and details throughout each and every World Showcase pavilion, Japan is one of if not my personal favorite. I have always been a fan of Japanese culture and architecture. This is a traditional Japanese Garden with a rushing stream, a waterfall, and a Shishi Odoshi, this particular type of bamboo fountain which is popular in Japanese Gardens. There are a few traditional Japanese style bridges that go over the stream connecting the paths of the Garden. This Garden is surrounded by the Pagoda to the south, the tea house and castle to the north, a tea courtyard to the west, and the Mitsukoshi Department Store to the east. A highlight of this Japanese Garden for many is the pond with many real Japanese Koi Fish. I filmed the pond and fish for about the last 2 minutes of this video, which I found somewhat mesmerizing. You can barely hear some of the Japan area music. The Japan area music loop was changed and extended in 2012, but nowadays the 2012 music only plays around the Pagoda, which can be heard in that part of this video. Much of the rest of the pavilion actually once again features the classic 1982-2012 area music as of 2024, which I can personally attest to. I love that they now use both Japan area loops. This is a really beautiful and peaceful part of EPCOT and I hope that it remains intact forever. It's a great way to showcase this part of Japanese culture in the Japanese pavilion. Part of the original mission of World Showcase was to authentically showcase the cultures represented in each pavilion, which this Garden does very well. I hope you enjoy it!
I do not own any audio used in this video. All area music is owned by Disney. Video taken by me. Feel free to use my video in your own content if you want to.
