    As a lifter of 20 years myself, the key is to graze.
    The more often you eat, the more you exercise your metabolism, the more effectively you burn calories.
    Hoping Lee would agree.

      That often works, but fasting has been working for years. I think there are numerous paths to make it to where we want to go.

    • @TidalMD
      @TidalMD Месяц назад +2

      Grazing is the worst thing you can do for your energy, for me at least. Eating more frequently to boost metabolism is also a myth. Exercising a certain way, calorie balancing, and your lifestyle will dictate whether you lose fat or gain muscle regardless of how often you eat. You can burn calories quicker depending on your activity. Some exercises burn calories quicker than others. And more muscle mass you have the more calories you burn.

    I was always super lean and jacked 5 years ago.
    I stopped running around the block and started running around a block of chocolate 🍫
    Now I'm obese. Not just technically but visually.
    No other reason for it 😅

    funnily enough, predispositions have a huge impact. I copped the short stick genetically if you want to put it that way vs my brother, and thats life. fast forward a generation, two of my kids are lean and one is heavy set like me and the food is good/ healthy and the same across all 3 kids. I have increases the output of the heavier one through bike riding, walking, boxing and sport. His fitness is greatly improved but it doesnt show by looks. I have told him that at 10 if he just trims out a bit of dinner, puts in the effort through exercise every day that by the time he hits adulthood that there will be nothing to worry about.

    Nothing but truth. 80% of obese could choose to not be. I think Mr. Priest knows a thing or two about food intake and its effects on fat distribution within the human body. Though we must take into account his amazing genetics as he sits there with tree-truck upper/lower arms. Food is fuel, not an anti-depressant. Mr Priest was one of the first bodybuilders to present with a "cartoonish" appearance in his proportions. He has referred to it as part of the "illusion" of being on stage. Has some of the most iconic pictures in the history of bodybuilding. IIRC he reached 270lbs "not-in shape". 270 pounds on his frame is a ton of beef. Paul Dillet was another cartoonish looking competitor, but he couldn't hold a pose onstage to save himself. I have lotsa respect for Mr Priest.and the hard work he's put in over his career. Guy would look like Skellator when he was in shape. It's all in he face.

    It's rare for people to speak their mind this day and age. Everyone feels the need to be politically correct. Stuff that. Say what you mean and mean what you say. No one can 100% of the time anyway.

    Why bodybuilders do 20 week cycles nowadays to put on muscle if legends like lee did 6-8 week cycles?

    • @egregiousblunder5395
      @egregiousblunder5395 Месяц назад

      Because everyone is different and reacts to the drugs differently. For most folks 6-8 weeks isnt long enough either unless they are doing multiple cycles between contests. Most of the open class and classic guys never come off at all anymore, they will cruise on 2-300mg's a week year round.
