Thanks Paul!! I’m going to get that clutch mechanism raised up a notch and replace the bushings on it next. Now that I know what needs to be done it’s going to bother me until I do it! Still waiting on parts for the PRP seat installation so the Jeep is just sitting in the driveway with no seats at all right now.
That dent on the bottom of the grill at 10:50 that "was already there" was probably done when the body lift was installed. They used a floor jack and a piece of wood as well!!!😂🤣😂 Edit: Looking at the way it looks after bringing the body back down, I wanna say you absolutely made the right decision. The CJ is back down to were it originally was and difference in clearance, looks, etc. is minimal. Great job!!!
LOL - you’re probably right. And yeah, I agree! It looks WAY better without the tub just sort of floating above the frame. I am itching to get that clutch bracket moved after some helpful comments about why that was hitting the frame. Other than that, the clearances are perfect 👌😄
I did the same thing. Lol, scared myself with the transfer case in neutral. Worse yet, the wife got to witness it. Took a week for her to stop laughing and telling everyone.
It just seemed like a logical choice! A couple of them were pretty shot out, too. I’m glad I spent the extra money. And yep, my wife, Steph, has a very well built bronco. We took our honeymoon road trip in that through AZ, UT, CO, WY, MT and it was great! Not only is that thing capable Offroad but it cruises at 80MPH and it has heated leather seats. ☺️
I'm so glad your back ! This CJ build is going to be fun to watch . Great video and I'm looking forward to the next one . I have a 1'' body lift on my TJ and I have been thinking about removing it .I really don't need it anymore , plus the 1'' I will lose will not only help with the center of gravity but will make it easier for me to get in and out ( bad knees and back ) . Anyways ,take care and I will catch you on your next video.
I didn’t mention it in the video but center of gravity is definitely something to consider as well. I feel the knees and back comment way too much too 😂. Thanks for always watching and following along!
Great info! I was considering a body lift on my 06 Frontier but i don't think I will because your video brought up some fitment issues on the interior I had not considered.
The first day I had the Jeep I took it to the sand and when I shifted it to 4 low I was like “oh no, this is a problem.” The shifters weren’t designs to work with body lifts at all.
Hello When they installed the body lift they had to lower that clutch bracket on the body since the body went up 1" but the engine did not and the inner pivot is attached to the engine. If you look you can even see the old holes and studs for that clutch bracket. MOVE the bracket up. Also by forcing in front of the frame outrigger you probably messed up the alignment of the body to the frame.
U might already know this but your clutch pivot bracket is mounted to low that's why your contacting ur tub mount it looks as though u can move it up a bolt hole I have 77 cj5 and I've installed the kit that came with everything the pivot the rod all the boots a good kit so maybe check your bracket if I'm wrong sorry for the bother
No, I didn’t know that! That’s a great suggestion! I’m going to take another look at it when I replace the pivot bushings and if I can move it up I will! Thanks!
Not great! I was going to the chiropractor weekly for a while and now I’m about to start physical therapy again. Every day I get a little bit older and less flexible 👴🏻
Nice to see you back on RUclips! CrawlTV was one of the first channels I subscribed to when I got my jeep.
That’s awesome!! Glad you’re still here. Thanks for the comment!
Really looking awesome!! Keep them coming it’s always great to see your videos

@@CRAWLTV ha! My rig has been sitting because I’m installing efi and have concerns about my knowledge level of fuel systems🤦🏼♂️
I'm so glad your back 👍👍👍
Thanks! Glad to be back!
The ol "accidental neutral" haha! BEEN THERE!
I thought I broke something 😅😅😅
This series is gonna be EPIC!
I have a lot of parts lined up! Should be fun!

Nice project, good to see you back!
Thanks! Glad to be back.

So glad I’m not the only one 😰😂😂
6:45 if you have to touch all the body mounts anyways, might as well do fresh! I’d do the same thing!
Also… Bronco in the background… 🤙🤙🤙

This will be a funny project. The last cj7 I worked on, was a pain in the… All the bolts broke and I had to drill them out.

Great input! I will be removing the bracket entirely to replace the bushings, so I’ll definitely move it up! Thank you for the help!
I have a question. If the body is mounted to the frame with rubber but you will hard mount your roll cage to the frame. Will this cause issues?
No that’s a great question. I bought extra polyurethane mounts to tie them together.

My 79 CJ7 has a 2" BL to raise the drivetrain and have a flat belly. It'll be a ton more work for anyone who want to remove it if I ever sell it lol
One of my next videos will be the motor and transmission mounts. I’m not looking forward to that project. 😅
It looks way better without the body lift.
I agree!
How is your back these days?
Not great! I was going to the chiropractor weekly for a while and now I’m about to start physical therapy again. Every day I get a little bit older and less flexible 👴🏻
@@CRAWLTV same here. Have to learn to manage it. Good seats in the cj is critical.
Wife doing with cancer hope well
She is in remission. 2022 was a really tough year for us but things are much better now and she’s doing well. Thanks for asking!
