Thank you - I'm not gonna lie; this is taking up the majority of my life savings. It's a considerable risk, but probably the last time I'll be able to take such a risk. Life is short.
I hear that , im an automation engineer , and I’ve been working 10 hours a day for practically this entire year so far to start saving for such endeavors like your doing now. Love these videos !
4 minutes before you uploaded this, i mentioned to my boss your project and how i should do an electric turbo for my personal racecar. so this is good news for me. lol
Thanks. There's just something about being near water (there must be, since I tan like a match to gasoline...) But I feel better down there and I'm hoping that and the additional space will help me reclaim my health that I've let slide over the last several years dealing with everything else.
Man here I was thinking ... I suck at making youtube videos but reality is Alex has that experience! He cranks out quality content and its educational; for that i'm a subscriber.
Welcome to Texas!!! I live in the Austin area and frequent the coast often with the kids. It would be great to have a convo soon and exchange some ideas👍🏼
Thanks. I just have such a hard time working on it in such a small and overcrowded space. I've become used to it over the years (my garage in Brooklyn was even smaller), but I'm getting too old to contort myself in various ways; never mind not wanting to go out in the garage at all when it's cold outside.
Yeah, it does. I do feel bad about that - I'm a bit overloaded. At least it a (hopefully) temporary condition. Once I move down there, I may look into hiring some help to assist in editing my videos and managing the forum.
@AlexLTDLX no need to apologize. I think I'm just going to start with the HW and SSS combo. I'm spacing the components for MGM "sledgehammer" power though.
Welcome to Texas sir! I hope to (possibly) meet you sometime soon!! I implore you to enjoy the cold while the getting is good, because it won't be around for long, I swear 😂😭
"Dad! You idiot!" I've never related more to one of your videos. I also heard some very interesting things like "testing grounds", and "dynojet". So far as I'm concerned, take all the time you need!
Oh yes. Life is short. And I can't afford to drag this out - every month that goes by now I'm losing money. If you know how much my mortgage was in DC, there's a good chance you'd wince; and basically I was faced with a choice - either keep looking for shows and commercials to make in a diminishing (expensive) market or go somewhere where I can live cheaper, better and do what I really love doing - while I'm still physically able to.
@@AlexLTDLX I'm in Illinois, so I wince often when seeing value for $ on land/homes & so on in other areas of the country. Looks like the right decision to me already.
Alex, I am so stoked for you my man!!! Wish I could endure the new channel direction with you. Till then, I'll just continue to live vicariously through you! The future is electric turbski's!!!
I really want the freedom to do unrestricted dyno testing - testing two and even three (or dare I say four or more?) units in various configurations. Where I am now and how I'm doing it just takes too long.

I don't see a single ad and it's free. Just get a non Google browser and run a blocker or 2. Works on my Android too. Alright, I see in vid ads but I can skip those.
Not a bad Idea. I'm actually doing a bunch of little upgrades to it to make it a bit more liveable. Not necessarily RV level, but if I go to a track 3-5 hours away, I can crash at least one night in relative comfort.
Just fine - I had a flat in SC and again in Atlanta, but no real issues. Plenty of power & decent gas mileage (around 11.8 mpg pulling the loaded trailer). In fact on the way down it was pretty overloaded - stopped at a CAT scale, and without me in it, the whole setup weighed a good bit over 16,000 lbs. I think the weak link with the Expedition is really the independent rear - the rest of it is incredibly solid and strong.
It's like you've done this before. The original concrete contractor poured the foundation 3" too small, and it turns out his insurance isn't valid... 5 out of 6 contractors have already either screwed up or just straight up cheated me. I had typed some choice words here, but I've deleted them. Use your imagination.
@@AlexLTDLX I've not delt with it directly but I see and hear the horror stories, yours does seem extreme but yeah. I hope you get it sorted out before they leave you homeless. p.s is your forum blocking new members? I can't get the confirmation email for some reason.
The foundation is getting fixed, but it's added $30k to the tab. I seem to have found a good contractor now. The forum is acting weird, but since I'm in Tx right now, it's a little difficult to deal with. There are a lot of people in the approval cue, but they appear to be bots. @AlexLTDLX I gotta show you my controllers and motors at some stage.... I'm running 168-175v and 600amps, pulley setups.... was running a vortech v15 with no issues except for the headstuds ripping right out of the block at low rpm... Currently playing with dual 0.60 wet nos jets.... tore my driveshaft off the chassis at the center bearing from bending the shaft while hooking out of an intersection in the dry. I'm using the me1616 motor. Takes 168v like no tomorrow. At 100v it's 134nm stall and 8000rpm. So it's around 225nm stall and 13,400rpm off 168v on 41s (charged to 175v). I had issues with the v15 overboosting at low rpm and sold it as the wastegate was not accurate. Currently have a v3-si, a v3h7b and a v7 to play with. I'm running an Australian ford barra dohc bored out to 4.1L with 14.3MM headstuds and a 999kw rebuild kit. I run speed controllers with 3 different modes(speeds). I use a 0-5v pedal with a plate bolted to the acceleration pedal... whatever throttle position I use is whatever rpm the centrifugal will spin... works perfectly with everyday driving. Speed 1, just enough to overcome max rpm NA flow. Many days battery time. 41s 70ah 50c lipo in fan ventilated box under car in lipo cloth incase of fire, using watchmon4 bms and longmons to supervise and 1000amp shunt, turns on relays on charge discharge, low voltage temperature etc etc... Speed 2, low boost 6psi, enough to drive to work for 5 days... Speed 3, high boost, just higher rpm (limited to 800hp due to gearbox Currently, torque converteris on its way out also.... going 3000stall soon) get 3-5days depending on how I drive. I do 80kms a day round trip. 4.11:1 truetrac in the rear on 255/65r17 pushing 2000kg rwd. Motor is water cooled Khb14601 controller has custom watercooling added to plate. Running an oil cooler for the motor and a separate oil cooler for the controller where the fog lights usually are (ram air style) with pc fans on the rear of each cooler... I have 13kw of solar panels at home... hit 12kw daily. We are only allowed to feed 5kw into the street grid, so I store the remaining power into 24v 1200ah of usable lead acid storage (24v 2400ah), we also have 2 fridges and 3 aircons in the house... If the Territory is parked at home in the daytime I have 2x 175v 9amp chargers that I can bypass on house power instead of battery power.... Battery charger is on a timer... charges at 730am stops at 330pm. Deep freezer and hot water also are on a 11am to 3pm timer... deep.freezer is set lower. Hot water cylinder is 315L and enough for 7 adults and 1 baby in our house. We use hardly any power....
@AlexLTDLX you should develop a direct bolt on kit... Make adapter plates that bolt onto chassis, target boy racers. BRZ, Honda, and corolla teenagers would be all over this product if it was a direct fit.... Lto battery that replaces the sparetire is a must... Could sell this product with an adjustable fuel regulator as a baseline product and go from there... it's easier than installing a turbo or belt setup if you just have to mount it and match the wire colours...

Initially, I wanted to be right on the water. After staying at a couple of waterfront hotels down there, I realized that the wind would be too much. This seems just inland enough to get a breeze most times, and it seems rather quiet. I did camp out on the property for over a week, and found it rather quiet and peaceful (and the night sky there is amazing). But who knows, you might be right.
