My grandmother was from Polermo and we ate these once a week as kids, a huge pot full, I still remember her pushing the snails down as they were trying to climb from the pot, we all sat at the kitchen table with our safety pins, yeah safety pins, digging those snails out and sucking the sauce from the shells, with her fresh bread for the rest of the sauce. I was about 10 yrs old and would eat about 30 of em, my cousin has the recipe, but we don`t see him anymore, I will sure try yours, she called them bubalushi`s, I was told they are very expensive these days, and I do not remember her cleaning them, just purging them in the sink, with some salt in the water, she would do it 3 or 4 times, thank you for the memories. Your sauce looks identical, you will never forget the taste of it.
My mother was from Palermo and we used to have these from the St. Lawrence Market in Toronto. Beautiful memories. I now live in Northern Alberta and these are not available here. What a treat to think of those meals. Thankyou
My mom made these. When we were kids we didn’t want anything to do with them. But we love them now. None of us knew the recipe so this is great to have. Thank you!
Beautiful ♥️ I already adore you two and this channel. I’m glad this channel was suggested to me after watching a video on tripe from a different channel.
Those garden snails are many in my backyard I tried to eliminate them for over 20 years but I can't. I tried to hunt them in the summer and smashed them all but next year they come back again. I am tired of them. Now I see your video I will try to cook them and eat.
@@PiattoRecipes i might find out but it might not be specifically from a region could just be a typical way its made even in spain or other countries but i seen italians make it ,you can see some yt vids of it too why do you ask?

Thank you!
Even those who can't stomach the snails themselves usually love this sauce!
Looks delicious. I will try to make it next month.
leave it to an Italian Grandma to make even snails look appetizing. I bet that sauce is amazing.

Let us know how it goes! :)
that way you will be glad to see them come back each year for your pot lol
🙏😎
Snails are great. Pity to spoil the snails with all that tomato sauce. Better with simple garlic butter.
no chorizo or pancetta in the sauce??
Nope!
